"Veronica, didn't you hear what my brother just said? He said no, and asking my father is a waste of your breath because the answer will be the same."
"I think you two have taken too much of our time. It's time for you two to leave my territory." Elijah said in a cold tone of voice. Elijah could have chosen not to be here, but curiosity took over him. As a result, he is bored to death by listening to every nonsense word coming out of their mouths. 'As an uninvited guest, they should have known their place better.' He inwardly said.
Not giving up, Franklin spoke to Elijah, "Elder, you are the wisest among all of us, don't you think that it such a waste for your grandson to reject my proposal?"
He has not yet said the details of his offer, yet they are all already rejecting him and Veronica. In the past, he and Veronica are always welcome in the Robertson manor, and they can visit the estate any time they want to. However, now, it seems to him that they are not welcome anymore.
"For generations, the members of the Robertson family have always been working hard to make a name for themselves. We don't depend on other people's support like the one you are proposing. My grandson is not an exception to this." It is nice to have some help from other people, but the offer that Franklin and Veronica are giving to Kyle is a different kind of help. Elijah thinks that Franklin believes that his grandson doesn't have what it takes to make a name of himself.
"But-"
"Veronica Lace, that is enough. Don't push your luck here, young lady. Grow up. Using such a trick to get what you want is not very mature, and I am disappointed at you." Layla is not going to deny that she once thought that Veronica could become her possible daughter-in-law, but after seeing what kind of a person she has become, that thought has disappeared completely.
She has no idea what kind of life Veronica grew up in, but clearly, this is all of Franklin's doing. Since the moment she met Franklin, she can tell that he is greedy. Greedy for more power and wealth.
"Please don't test our patience, Franklin. Go back to where you two came from willingly, or else, I will have to use force to make it happen." Anyone can tell that Stan is serious about what he said. He is not usually like this, but when he does, the people that he is talking to should listen.
Franklin clenched his hand and said to his daughter, "Veronica, let's go. It's time for us to leave."
He now feels humiliated that everyone, except for his daughter, is not on his side. It's the first that he has been rejected for offering a fair project that could benefit both parties.
In a short amount of time, he heard that Kyle manage to gain recognition from the people of the boards. Despite that accomplishment, Franklin actually thought that Kyle will still accept his offer.
"Daddy, I don't want to leave without getting anything out of this," Veronica said. She has been waiting for this day to happen, and she won't leave until she can get Kyle to accept her father's proposal. Veronica has already disappointed Kyle's mother, but it does not matter to her. All she cares about is Kyle's approval.
"Veronica, can't you see that things are not going well for both of us? Let's go back now."
"Daddy!"
Franklin stared at Veronica, and he can't help but feel frustrated that his daughter is not trying to understand the situation they are in right now.
"What's this? You've been spoiling that daughter of yours too much, Mr. Lace." Lannie grinned at the frustrated look on Franklin's face. "Because of that, you're having problems now."
In Franklin's perspective, Lannie tells him that he is a failure as a father to Veronica because he can't even make her listen to him. He doesn't want to admit it, but he thinks that Lannie is right.
He keeps giving whatever Veronica wants, and look at what it has gotten him, frustration and headache. Aside from giving in to each of her whims, he also sent her to the best schools, and yet she doesn't show it when it is really needed.
"Enough of this, young lady. We are leaving whether you like it or not." Taking Veronica's wrist, he dragged her all the way to their vehicle. It's humiliating enough that he can't get what he wants, but for his daughter to act like a brat in front of all the Robertsons is way more embarrassing.
"They're annoying! Why did you even let them inside our home, Dad?" Lannie grunted. Her day was starting out great, but when she heard from the butler that Veronica and her father came unannounced, her day was ruined thoroughly.
"I thought that it would be entertaining to see them try and win our favor, that's why I let them in. And I must say, I was slightly entertained." It's what he had expected, but it did teach Franklin a lesson. He will face humiliation like what happened today if he approaches a Robertson with that kind of intent again.
"Husband, next time, if they ever come again and you want to be entertained, don't tell us to come and watch with you. It's annoying to be in the same place as those people." Layla glared at her husband. Just like her daughter, her day started great. Her husband ruined it by saying that there is an emergency and that her presence is needed. To think that he tricked her is utterly unforgivable.
"Your wife is right, Stan. I'm an old man, I need a break from people like them." Elijah sighed.
"Father, you should have kicked them out from the start. You're just wasting everybody's time." After saying that, Kyle turned around and left the room. He doesn't want to waste any more of his time by listening to his father's nonsense.
"H-hey! Don't walk out on me like that! That's so rude of you!" Even after saying that, Kyle did not even bother to look back at him.
Stan feels sad. To think that every single member of his family had enough of him. He was only trying to make them feel entertained. How did things turn out like this?
'I'm all alone in this world.' He inwardly said.

"Daddy! Why do we have to leave? We could have persuaded them more! If we keep on going, Kyle will definitely change his mind." Veronica is intensely angry at her father.
Her father didn't try hard enough to get what they want. If he had let her speak, things could have worked out the way they want it to.
"Veronica, I want you to shut your mouth," Franklin growled at her.
It shook Veronica. Her father never shouted at her like this. He would always talk to her in a calm tone, even if he is angry at her. She didn't say anything wrong. How could her father shout at her?
Franklin glanced at her and knew right away what she is thinking, and that even made him angrier than earlier. "You have no idea what you did wrong? Young lady, once we get home, you are not allowed to go out of the manor until you realized what you did wrong today."
If he let Veronica out without making her understand what happened today would be a mistake on his part. Veronica might run wild and put more humiliation in their family name. He can't let that happen. 'Enough is enough, Veronica."
"But, Daddy-"
"Don't say another word, Veronica. I had enough of your unnecessary complaints."
Veronica finally shuts her mouth, but her mind still keeps thinking about how Kyle was looking at her earlier. He looked at her so coldly, it's as if she is a nobody in his life.
'Is it really too late for everything? If I hadn't left you, would our relationship from before be the same and keeps on growing onto something more?'

"Anna! I really hate her! You need to make her disappear! No, not that. Make her know her place. That's the best torture for her. If you do that, it will hunt her forever that she can never win against you."
Overhearing the person Anna is talking to over the phone, Aaron is somehow getting on his nerves. "Anna, can you please not put it on speaker? I do not need to hear your conversation with that loudmouth."
Aaron was having his alone time in his room, but then his sister suddenly entered his room with her phone on speaker. His peace and quiet were immediately destroyed by Lannie's complaint.
"Excuse you?! I heard that! Aaron, you don't have any idea how angry I am today, so please, don't make me even angrier than I am right now."
