"Don't ask, Nathalia. Just do what I say. It's for your best interest."
"For my best interest? I don't think so, Dad! You were the one who always tells me that once I started on something, I should be the one finishing it." If there is one thing she takes pride in as a hacker, that would be getting the information that she wants. She will not stop until she gets it. Even her father told her that.
How can he just say those words like nothing?
"Sometimes, it is best to leave things like this out of your reach. Let me handle this, Nathalia. Don't make me repeat myself again." Leonardo coldly said to her, but Nathalia stood still. She did not even flinch.
Her father may have always given her whatever she wants, but Nathalia knows her limit. This is the limit where she should back down now, and she would usually listen, but no. She will stand her ground. Her father wants her to improve her skill in hacking? Then solving this problem might be the best way for her to do just that.
"Well, I don't want to repeat myself either, Dad. I want to solve that problem with or without you. I want to get involved. I am not leaving this all to you." If her father is so worried about her getting herself into trouble because of that stupid symbol. He might as well sit right next to her and watch her.
Since the moment she saw that symbol, she is already involved. There is no point in telling her that she should not get herself involved.
"Your daughter's very stubborn, Leo. I'm pretty sure she got that from you."
"Yeah, I have to agree with Arion. Your daughter got her spunk from you."
Both Stan Arion smirked at what is happening. They both suddenly remember when Mary and Leonardo had an argument about hacking into someone's system. Mary didn't want Leonardo to continue on, but Leonardo intends to do it despite the risk. He always says that once he has started on something, he will finish it until the end.
"Shut it. You two should be helping me here instead." He angrily said to Stan and Arion. They both know how important his daughter is to him, and they should understand why he does not want Nathalia to continue on. "She became like this ever since that son of yours confessed to my daughter."
Arion's mouth twitched at the accusation Leonardo is throwing at his son. "Excuse you? I'm pretty that it is not my son's fault. Besides, my son is not even here, yet you're bringing him up for something you are clearly at fault for!"
'Unbelievable, utterly unbelievable. I can't believe he's getting my son to get involved in this.' Arion knows that his son can be way too stubborn for anyone to handle, but he is sure that his son is not why Nathalia is not listening to her father.
"Stop bringing Aaron up, Dad. He has nothing to do with this, and you know that. This is between you and me." After hearing that Aaron is getting involved in this argument, Nathalia is now enraged at her father.
She knows that her father is still disliking that Aaron is courting her, but it doesn't mean that he is allowed to blame Aaron.
"Well, she said it's between her and him, so I'm suggesting that the rest of us will leave you two alone," Stan said, then he and his daughter left the room.
Arion soon after followed the pair, but he said one last thing to Leonardo before he ultimately left the room. "Leo, better not make this conversation way too long. We have a lot of work to do."
Although he is annoyed by Leonardo, he still being a considerate friend. Giving the two some time alone. The only thing he hopes is that they shouldn't take too much time to get on the same page.
After getting out, Arion noticed the stare Stan is giving him. Having no idea why he is giving him that kind of look, Arion asks him in an annoyed tone, "Why are you staring at me like that? If you want to say something, then say it."
"Are you going to blame my son too?" Stan asked, which cause Arion to frown.
"Blame your son for what? He hasn't done anything to make me angry. Well, except for the fact that he is approaching my daughter." Arion might act like he is unreasonable from time to time, but it is not to the point he will blame Kyle out of the blue like what Leonardo just did towards his son.
"As far as I know, it's not a crime to approach your daughter. Besides, I heard that my son is trying to have your blessing. Why can't you give it to him now?" Since they are already on the topic about his son, Stan might as well help Kyle. Who knows, it might work.
"Stan, you are terrible at this. I guess that is why your wife gets annoyed with you." Whenever Arion accidentally meets Layla, the first thing that Layla does is drag him to some cafe and starts to complain about her husband.
Up until now, she still does that. Upon listening to everything she has to say about Stan, Arion wondered what is so annoying about Stan. Now, he can see why. Two of the reasons must be Stan's mischievousness and that smug look on his face.
"Wait, what? My dear wife complains about me to you. Why would she meet up with you to complain about me?" In an instant, Stan has forgotten that his goal is to help his son. When his wife is mentioned, all he could think about is her. If someone were to ask him who should be a pick between his son and wife, he would always choose his wife.
Right now, he is definitely jealous that there are secret meetings that were happening between Arion and Layla that he has no idea about.
"Dad, don't assume things," Lannie said. "It's not just him where Mom goes to complain about you. She goes to big brother Kyle or to me too." Lannie can't believe that up until now, her father has no idea that her mother has been complaining about his annoying side for years and years.
"Huh?"
"You even caught Mom talking about you a couple of times, yet you didn't suspect anything at all? Wow. When it comes to Mom, you sure are quite something." Now that Lannie says this, she wonders if her brother will turn out the same way as their father.
'Hopefully, that will not happen. Anna is different. She might actually leave my brother once she had enough of his ridiculousness.' Lannie inwardly prayed.
Arion sighed deeply. Most people around him are either extraordinarily annoying or too an idiot, and Stan is the 'extremely an idiot' type in his list.
"You know, when I first met Layla, her preferred type of men is definitely not someone like you." Arion hit the wound that has not been touched for a very long time. Stan already knows that fact a long time ago that is why he worked hard to get Layla to notice him. Thankfully, she is his wife now. "I don't see why would Layla choose you. My guess is that because you are handsome and the kids will turn out beautiful that's why she chose you?"
"What the hell...?" Now, Stan felt offended. "I could say the same thing about you." Since his brother-in-law is Alfonso, he knew some things about the Coleman couple. One of those things would be that Arion was in the same position as he was in the past.
"Are you two being serious right now? This conversation is ridiculous!" Lannie shouted. She can't believe that she's been hearing. She thought they are talking about her brother, but how did things turn out like this?
As soon as she said that, she huffed and puffed, then went to the nearest chair to sit at. One of the things that annoy her is when two a.d.u.l.ts are having that kind of conversation. To her, it seems so childish and annoying.
She only came here because she and Nathalia were to come. Lannie wants to leave and go home now, but she won't go anywhere until she is with Nathalia. After all, she is the one who got Nathalia into this mess in the first place.
Not wanting to listen to more of her father and Arion's conversation. Lannie browsed the internet, and to her amus.e.m.e.nt, she saw another humiliating video of Veronica. Lannie didn't even care that there other people around her, and just played the video in high volume.
Arion listened to every word from the video and he almost cursed. "Heh. That girl sure has some guts trying to humiliate my daughter.
