Chapter 524 - Revenge 525: Too Plain

"She's been trying to do that ever since she came back. Like every time she coincidentally sees Anna walking, she always tries to make things to be in her favor, but like always, Anna wins." As she is saying this Arion, Lannie suddenly remembered that Arion Coleman is capable of many things.

It does not matter what people call her from now on, all she cares about is to make sure that Veronica learns her place. 'Sorry, Anna's father, but I'm going to be a little bit manipulative now.' He inwardly said.

"That one time my brother and Anna went out abroad with uncle Alfonso, I heard that Veronica did the same thing too. Good thing that my brother was there to side with Anna, but I still feel bad that Anna has to go all through this because of Veronica's greediness." Lannie puts on her sad expression. She is trying to convince Arion that Anna is having a hard time dealing with a person like Veronica.

"I'm pretty sure that my daughter is quite capable of defending herself with or without your brother, young lady," Arion said.

"That is quite true." Lannie had a feeling that Arion might say, so she praised herself for planning in advance in what she should say back. "But, as you know, Anna is a nice kid. She doesn't like attacking anyone who is weaker than her. And she also told me that it's only a waste of time to pay attention to Veronica."

On the sideline, Stan was listening from the beginning and he is in gape at the act his daughter is showing. The way she is acting is making him remember his wife. 'I think there is a high chance that my sweet little girl is turning out like her mother. I must prevent that from happening!'

His wife's fierce and cunning attitude might be the reason why he fell in love with her, but he definitely does not want their children to take after one of them. Thinking back, they have the worst personality and they are a bad influence on their children.

"Lannie, I think that is enough. Anna is Arion and Mary's daughter, I'm sure that she will retaliate once she had enough of Veronica. You should just let Anna and your brother handle this on their own." In the first place, this sort of problem should be fixed by his son in the first place.

He is even wondering what is taking his son way too long to fix this Veronica problem. 'What on earth could he be doing?' He inwardly asked.

Little does he know, he is the reason why Kyle has not been able to fix their problem with Veronica. With all his studies, too much work given by his father, making time for Anna, Kyle does not have much time on him.

"No. Don't stop your daughter, Stan. As Anna's father, I think I do have the right to know what Veronica is doing to my daughter." Arion blocked Stan, then signaled Lannie to continue telling him more.

Stan gulped. He is now inwardly praying that this side of his daughter is only temporarily.

On the other hand, Veronica just received a slap from her father. She stood in front of him frozen on the spot.

Veronica did not expect her father to raise his hand on her. She has been treated like a princess by him, he has been very careful with her, yet now, he actually hurt her.

"D-dear! You don't have to go that far! I know that Veronica made a mistake today and clearly, she is at fault, but you did not have to slap her like that. She is still our daughter!" Veronica's mother angrily shouted at him.

"Listen to me, and listen well, woman. That daughter of yours, I already warned from the very first day after she humiliated herself, I told her to not approach Anna Coleman at any cost. But what did she do? Not once, not twice, even now she did not listen to a word I said to her. Look at what we are facing now!"

Since Veronica is their only child, she is going to be the one running their company in the future, but the board of directors is having doubts about if they should entrust the company's sake at the hands of an irresponsible child like her.

Franklin has been hearing all sorts of bad rumors about his daughter, and most of them are true. If Veronica doesn't do anything to redeem herself, there will be no future for her anymore in the company.

Their family's hard work for generations will end in Franklin's lifetime.

"How dare you say that! You don't know how fragile Veronica's heart is. She only did those things because she really likes Kyle. Besides, Anna Coleman is the one at fault here. If she didn't get in the way of our daughter, then none of this would have happened."

Franklin almost raised his hand to slap his wife. He can't believe that even his wife is as unreasonable as their daughter is.

Is Anna Coleman getting in the way of their daughter? Hah! Ridiculous! As much as he hates to admit it, his daughter is the one who keeps getting in the way between Anna and Kyle.

"You stupid woman, now I know where Veronica's stupidity came from." He mumbled, but both mother and daughter were able to hear it. "Because of you, our stupid daughter is a spoiled shitty brat. You've been spoiling her way too much!"

He also admits that he took a part in spoiling Veronica, but it was never as extreme as how his wife does it.

Franklin's wife scoffed and said, "You're putting the blame on me? Please. Why can't you blame the person who keeps humiliating our daughter?!" She can't stand it. Her daughter is the most precious being in the whole world for her, and her husband knows that, yet he is saying such words in front of her.

"Have you really lost it now? Why can't you understand the situation that we are in? It's not just our family's name is at stake here, Anna's father will come after us." Franklin is about to lose it.

It is THE Coleman family they are going up against. How on earth can they defend themselves from them when they can't even defend themselves from the Robertsons. It is all over the news that Arion Coleman is back, and from what he knows, he is overly protective of his family.

Now that Veronica intentionally tried to humiliate Anna more than once, this time for sure, Fraklin believes that Arion Coleman will come to them.

"So what? I don't care if they come for us. His daughter is the one at fault, not ours."

Veronica, who has been quiet this whole time was only watching his parents argue nonchalantly. When her father slapped her earlier, she wanted to retaliate, but her mother did it for her, so she is now sitting quietly while thinking deeply about what should she do next.

'I won't let her get away from this just like that.' In the end, she is the only one who got hurt. Veronica will never let Anna rest until she is satisfied.

While thinking deeply, she suddenly heard Anna's father is mentioned. She doesn't really care about any Colemans, but for some reason, Anna's father stood out from the rest. Arion Coleman, he is the one who left years ago and came back not too long ago.

His disappearance is full of mystery and she would like to uncover that mystery. Once she finds whatever Arion Coleman is hiding, she might use it as her advantage against Anna.

Veronica planned on starting her investigation about Arion Coleman, but she never expected him to suddenly appear before her.

She wanted to act high and mighty in front of him, but for some reason, she is frozen on the spot. The glare that Arion is giving her is too much for her to handle. She never knew that Arion Coleman could be extreme to someone like her.

'This is far from what I expected.' She inwardly said.

"Mr. Coleman, what an honor-" Franklin greeted Arion in high spirit, but Arion cuts him off.

"What an honor, you say? Do you really think that I'm happy to be greeted by you? You know damn well why I'm here, Mr. Lace." Arion casually sat, but his line of sight is directly pointed at Veronica. He is thinking about what should he do to her. Should he torture her or immediate death? 

However, it seems like Franklin's wife misunderstood the way he stares at Veronica.

"I can't believe that someone like you is shameless enough to openly stare at my daughter so lewdly." Arion almost laughs when he heard that, and Franklin almost wanted to throw a brick on his wife's head.

"I'm sorry to say this, but your daughter can't even meet up to my standards. She's way... too plain. My wife and daughter are more gorgeous than her."
