Chapter 537 - Revenge 538: Importance To His Plan

"You want to meet us first? Why would you want that? Compare to our parents, my brother, and I are powerless. We can't do anything for you." Anna frowned.

So far, from what she heard from Keith, he needed help to get away from the Ricci family's grasp. Whether or not he is telling the truth that he is being targeted, he should not have approached her or her brother.

This kind of move only made Anna more suspicious of him. 'I wonder what made Leon trust this guy. How can he even trust him?' She inwardly said.

"As you two already know, the Ricci family, more specifically, your grandfather, wants both of you. What's the reason? I don't know. They didn't want to share that secret with me. Meeting you two first is on purpose. I want to know why your grandfather wants the both of you so badly." Ever since the twins' grandfather got to know about their existence, all Keith hears about is the twins from that old man's mouth.

That old man keeps saying that he will get the twins over and over again. It is almost like an obsession, which made him wonder what is so special about the twins.

Looking at the twins up and down, he said, "Hmm... I don't see anything special, though." He mumbled. So far, he doesn't see anything that had taken that old man's interest in the twins. However, he does believe that if he stays long enough to observe the twins, he might figure out this mystery.

"First of all, that person you're talking about, we don't recognize him as my grandfather. He's the reason why my mother was hurting in the past. Second of all, can you tell us already your reason for showing up, so that I can this to my parents right away?" Aaron said in an annoyed tone.

Every time Keith says that the old man is his and Anna's grandfather, it boils his blood. It reminds him that no matter how many times he convinces himself that he has no connection with the Ricci family, the blood that flows within him always connects with that cursed family.

"Heh. I like you." Keith smiled, then glances at Leon. "Leon, I like him. I might get along with him!"

Keith sounded so excited, which made Leon sighed inwardly. When Keith reached out to him, he was surprised and suspicious about what he wants from him. Other than his boss and his boss's wife, no one would be able to reach out to him without using any means. To think that Keith could manage to get him in contact, it could mean that Keith is much capable than what his outer appearance makes him out to be. 

When Leon went out and met with him, Keith reminded him of his boss. 'Why can't he act in front of the twins the way he did towards me before?' He inwardly asks.

"Are seriously gonna fool around and not go straight to the point?" Anna asked. Her patience is slowly decreasing the longer Keith tries to drag their conversation longer than what is needed.

"Oh! I like you too!"

"Keith! That's enough! There are some people here. I mean, most people here have something else to do. Please don't waste our time with you fooling around like this!" Leon's patience has finally burst. Leon is the one who set the time for this secret meeting. From the beginning to the end, it was all set. He purposely did it this way because he has other places to go. If he doesn't show up at his appointed time, the twins' father will surely be onto him.

"Okay. Geez! No need to be so angry."

Keith started to tell Anna and Aaron about what happened before he ran away. Keith did not deny the fact that he did a lot of bad things. He also shared that he is put on a mission to keep an eye on the Coleman family.

He would have continued to do so if the Ricci family did not kill the only person who is very important to him, his mother.

All of the members of the Ricci family only care about themselves and their achievements. They were taught that way, but his mother was different. Despite being trained to be cold-hearted, she gave him a lot of love and kept him away as much as possible from the bad things that were being taught in the Ricci family.

His mother's health was not as good as it was before. Keith was willing to obey everything that the Ricci family wants him to do as long as his mother is safe, but that same family he is willing to follow killed his mother.

With so much anger inside of him, he decided to rebel against the family he grew up in. He reached out to the only person who is working close to Arion Coleman. He knew the risk of getting in contact with Leon, but he did not care. All he cares about is his revenge against the family who killed his beloved mother.

He will be suspected, and it is not surprising if they don't believe a word that he is saying, but he will do anything necessary to have the Coleman family at his side. They are his only chance to achieve his goal.

"Do you really think that we will believe everything that you said just now?" After hearing Keith's story, Aaron's mind is still in the middle o whether he should believe it or not. This person in front of him is a member of his family's enemy. Trusting this person's words might end up his biggest mistake.

"I understand why you're saying that. But whether you believe me or not, I don't care. All I care about is getting what I want. Besides, your or your sister's trust is not what I want. As you said, compared to your parents, you and your sister are powerless." Keith's tone of voice surprised the twins. His tone is entirely different from how he talked earlier. The way his eyes glimmered, Anna can't take her eyes away from him.

"You don't care whether we believe you or not? Pfft. Don't make me laugh." Anna coldly looked at him and continued, "You said that you purposely wanted to meet us first, which means we hold much more of an importance to you than how important my parents are to you."

Keith smirked. "I don't want to be mean, but don't get too conceited, Anna. What I said earlier does not relate to what I said just now." Keith's interest in the twins, especially in Anna, gradually increases.

"Oh, it does. It does relate, Keith." The way Keith looks reminds Anna of how Kyle looks when he is serious. "I heard from my father is that every member of the Ricci family is very cunning. And you're no different. Despite everything that you said, you have a plan of your own. A plan that includes my brother and me."

"Without Anna and I, you will never achieve your goal, isn't that your plan?" Anna is not the only one who noticed what Keith is really planning. Both Aaron and Leon noticed it. The twins are an essential part of his plan.

"Well, aren't you two such a smartass, and hate people like that. But I can't argue with you that you are right. You two are important to my plans. Then again, plans can be changed, especially now. I'm in no rush to get what I want." The twins might be important right now, but anything can change over time. If he sees that the twins show no sign of improvement, he will stop wasting his time and focus on things that will work.

"Enough with this conversation. Let's get going now." Leon interrupted them. Looking at the time on his phone, he will not make it in time for his appointed meeting with his boss. The only way he can get away from is if he brings Anna along with him.

Since Keith is originally planning on meeting Arion soon, Keith might as well meet the guy at the same time Leon is meeting him. 'It doesn't matter if he's ready or not, right?'

"All three of you are coming with me." He added.

"Where is Leon? He is supposed to be here telling me his report." Arion looked at the time and frowned. Leon has never been late when it comes to important matters. He might not want to admit it, but he is starting to get worried about that young man.

"Can you at least take it easy on Leon? You've been giving him way too many missions lately, and he deserves some time off, Arion." At Leon's age, Mary is surprised that Leon has yet to complain about all the work thrown at him.

'Leon is skillful at his job, but he needs to experience his youth. How can he be so harsh.' Mary inwardly said.

"Your wife is right, Boss. Can I take time off?"
