Chapter 541 - Revenge 542: Keith and Kyle

"For how long are you gonna oppose their relationship, Arion?"

"I am still not convinced about Kyle's affection towards my daughter. I knew that boy already did so much to prove himself, but I am just not yet convinced." Hearing that response from Arion, Marcus only sighed and shook his head. He knows for a fact that Arion does not mean what he just said.

Arion is convinced, but he just does not want to accept that fact. 'Why does this family have to be so stubborn.'

"Anyways, when are you gonna introduce that boy to me?" Marcus heard about Keith's situation, but they have not yet had the proper introduction. Marcus is quite curious about what kind of a person Keith is.

He heard from Leon that Keith is a cunning young man and that he should be careful. Marcus believes that, but he wants to see Keith himself. One can learn more about the other person once they meet him or her personally.

"Soon. That boy and Kyle will come here together." Marcus' brow rose up when he heard that. He expected Keith, but Kyle included? That is entirely unexpected. As far as he knows, Kyle is not involved in their family matters yet.

"I know that Kyle is Anna's lover, but I don't think it's at the point that he is allowed to get involved with our family problems." Though Marcus does not mind letting Kyle know since he will be part of their family in the near future, but he doesn't want to trouble Kyle when he has a circ.u.mstance of his own.

"I think so too, but that young man persistently asked me to let him help us. Even Stan agreed to it." Thinking back to what happened, both Stan and Kyle persistently calls him. They even bothered him at his work. Wanting them to stop bothering him, he had no other choice but to accept their help, to be more specific, Kyle's help.

"I see. Stan really wants Anna to be part of their family. I had never seen him act like that even when he was so little." Even though he and Elijah were on bad terms back then, Marcus could still see Stan grow up. It was all thanks to Stan's mother. 

"Since both Kyle and Keith offered their help, then I don't mind using them in however that I want," Arion smirked as the thought of burying Keith and Kyle with tons of work is engulfing his mind.

"I didn't raise you to be this childish, son." He might not have been the perfect father, but he sure knows that he never raised Arion to act in such a manner. Marcus is somehow feeling bad that Mary has to deal with someone like his son.

Before Arion could even say a word back, Anna's voice is heard behind the door. "Grandfather, I brought Kyle and Keith here as you asked."

"Come in," Marcus spoke.

Anna and the two young gentlemen let themselves in. The atmosphere in the room suddenly turned severe. Anna has no idea what this unusual meeting is about, but she can only guess that it includes the Ricci family's matter.

Anna is actually looking forward to spending her time with Kyle, but right at this moment, it is not part of her plan. Earlier, while she was calling Kyle to come and visit her, her grandfather was listening. And at that moment, he ordered her to have Kyle visit him at his office.

It annoyed her that her grandfather has to interrupt her day with Kyle. Anna wanted to complain, but listening to her grandfather was her only choice.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Mr. Coleman," Keith said as he stood in front of Marcus.

The elder stared at Keith's appearance. They have yet shared conversations with each other, and he already took a liking towards Keith. 

"Likewise." Marcus sat back on his seat, then he continued. "I'm guessing you already know why I'm expecting you here."

"Of course, there is something you want for me to do. To gain the trust that I want from the Colemans, I have to assists you guys and give any information that you want from me. But then again, that alone is not enough to gain everyone's trust. I know that much." Keith said. 

On the way here, Anna explained Keith's sudden appearance in their lives. He is still in the process of trying to understand did they let a member of the Ricci family into their territory, especially if they still doubt on whose side Keith is really siding on.

While silently listening to everything they are saying, he is wondering why he is in the same room as Keith. As far as he knows, he is supposed to spend time with Anna. But then again, Anna did not specifically tell him that she and he will be spending time together. 'Anna did mention that she will introduce someone to him, which is Keith.'

It saddens Kyle that he might have misinterpreted the real reason why Anna asked him to come. Also, at the same time, he is somewhat happy that Anna is letting him get involved in her family matter. It makes him feel like there is no more barrier between them.

"I hate to disturb you guys, but what am I doing here?" Kyle asked. Most of the time, Kyle does not like it when he is being bothered, but with this kind of atmosphere surrounding him, he would very much appreciate it if someone could just tell him the real reason for him being here.

Marcus chuckled, seeing how impatient Kyle is. For a moment, he almost thought that it was Elijah who said those words. "I apologize if I made you feel impatient, Kyle." He said.

"It's not that I feel impatient. I just see no purpose of me being here, and honestly, I would rather spend my time with Anna." Before he left the Robertson manor, his father told him that they will be doing a lot of work in the next few days. In short, he will be spending less and less time with Anna.

If there is nothing for him to do in this room other than listening to their conversation, it might be better for him to leave with Anna. That way, he will be more entertained.

"I see that you're such a dedicated boyfriend towards my granddaughter, and I would love for you two to spend more time together, but unfortunately, I will not let you do that." Knowing that Kyle is the type of person who will cherish his granddaughter in every way, Marcus sees no problem in letting Kyle go, but unfortunately, the real purpose of this meeting is to involve Kyle and Keith.

"How come, Grandfather?" Anna asked.

"Earlier, your father and I have come into an agreement about something and have decided to have Kyle and Keith do an assignment together." Kyle flinched when he heard that from Marcus. He did not expect to hear such news. He knows that he asked Arion to let him assist them, but working alongside a Ricci family member is not what he had expected.

"Them? Kyle and Keith working together? Is this some kind of a joke?" Anna really does hope that this is a joke her father and grandfather decided to throw at her, but if it is not, then it is the worst decision they have ever made.

Kyle and Keith did not have a good impression of each other earlier, and of course, they are not comfortable with each other. How do her father and grandfather expect Kyle and Keith to work side by side?

"It is not a joke, Anna," Arion said in a severe tone. "Right now, our trust in Keith is very low. I hate to admit this, but we do need people like him who have such skills. Kyle also has the same skills, but two is better than one, isn't it?"

In all honesty, everyone in this room knows the real reason behind Arion's words, this mission that he is talking about, one person is enough to complete the task, and Keith can do it all by himself. But having doubts about Keith, it is better to have someone to accompany him.

Their choice is Kyle, who is basically on the same level as Keith.

"I guess I have to put up with this if I want to have your trust." Keith made it sound like he already accepted his situation with Kyle, but in reality, he is screaming inside his head that he does not want to work with someone who is an annoyingly possessive type of guy like Kyle.

'The air he is emitting is also annoying! He acts as if he owns everything!' Keith inwardly said.

Kyle wanted to say a word of complaint about it, but then he realizes he did ask Arion. He has no other choice but to accept his fate alongside Keith."

Anna, on the other hand, does have something to say. "I understand your point, Dad. But why do I feel like you're doing this for another purpose?"
