Chapter 28 Shopping with a Four-Legged Woman
Out of the Magic Shop.
Kane slipped the space necklace on and felt the extra space beside him.
He pulled out a coin and dropped it into the space. Then he reached down and took it out.
Just like that, he kept repeating the action, enjoying himself.
Clea just looked at the man beside her who kept repeating the boring action.
What’s so fun about that?
Kane finally had enough fun. He dropped the coins into the space.
“Thank you for today. Without you, I might have been ripped off.”
He thought about how he would have lost a thousand gold coins if he hadn’t invited Clea today. He couldn’t imagine the pain.
Clea covered her mouth and laughed. “You helped me too, didn’t you?”
Then she thought for a moment and suddenly asked Kane, “Kane, do you know the area?”
“I know quite well. I walked around when I first arrived.”
“Then do you know whether there are pharmaceutical shops around here?”
I actually know that.
“I know. I’ll take you there.”
Kane led Clea around the streets.
Before long, they arrived at the entrance to a small shop. If not for the potion logo hanging on the door, no one would know that it was a potion shop
He pushed open the door and went in.
A pungent smell greeted him. The smell was like a toilet cleaner mixed with lemon juice that rushed into his nostrils.
Kane and Clea immediately covered their noses.
Youyou’s eyes glowed green as he detected the air.
“There’s a strange odor in the air. No toxic substances. The environment is safe. It’s recommended to cover your mouth and nose.”
There were no counters in the entire store. There were only rows of containers filled with tubes of various colors.
The entire space was long and narrow. A large cauldron stood in the shop. A figure in a worn black robe was stirring the pot.
Honestly, was this really not the witch’s hut?
The figure saw someone enter, picked up the lid beside him, and closed it. He walked over.
He took off his hood after coming over.
He looked like a young man.
But his slightly yellow hair was as dry as a chicken’s nest, his cheeks were thin, his face was like pewter, and there were thick dark circles under his sunken eyes.
He was wearing a tattered robe and felt weak. He walked as if he were being dragged.
His appearance made one wonder if he would collapse at any moment and extort money from you.
Seeing him like this, Kane couldn’t help but ask, “Are you okay?”
“It’s okay. I just didn’t sleep well.” As if to reassure Kane, he pulled a smile that was worse than crying.
Does this look like something caused by not sleeping well?
‘You haven’t slept all week, have you?’ “And what would you like, my two guests?” His voice was weak.
Clea looked around and asked, “Do you have a copper-colored recovery series?”
“Yes.” He dragged himself to a medicine cabinet. “This is the recovery series.”
Kane peered over.
This area was cramped, barely big enough for Clea. He could only peer around the back.
There were three layers of potions of the same color.
They were blue, red, and orange from top to bottom.
Is this the red and blue bottle? What’s the orange one?
This question was immediately answered by Clea.
Clea took a tube from each floor of the medicine cabinet and opened them one by one to smell them.
She nodded. “The life potion and the magic potion are both not bad.”
Then she picked up the orange potion and said, “But this Stamina Potion is human-sized. It’s too weak for a Halfling.”
The boss nodded with his dead eyes open and dragged himself through the boxes beside him.
From the way he was moving, Kane couldn’t take it anymore. ‘Are you really not called Lightning?’
In slow motion by the boss, finally, he took out a potion box and opened it. It was filled with large orange bottles.
Clea picked it up and looked at it, and nodded in satisfaction.
Clea took two bottles of Blue and five of Red, and four of the stamina potion from the box in the owner’s hand.
“How much is all this?” she asked the owner, after arranging the potion.
The boss stared at it for a moment and said, “150 gold coins for health potion, 100 gold coins for magic potion, and 250 gold coins for the stamina potion.”
Hearing the price, Clea nodded.
It was a relatively good price.
Hearing such a price, Kane also took two bottles of blue potion, two bottles of orange potion, and three bottles of red potion.
“Ordinary Stamina Potion 100 gold coins.” Seeing Kane’s Ordinary Stamina Potion, the boss added.
Seeing Kane and the others pay readily, the boss prepared to serve them well.
“Then let me help you pack up the potion.”
“No need.”
“No need to trouble yourself.”
Kane and Clea spoke in unison.
It would be torture to ask you to pack it.
Seeing that his good intentions had been rejected, the boss was a little depressed.
He watched Kane and Clea leaving the store.
Is my service attitude bad? he wondered.
Kane and Clea left the pharmacy.
The first thing he did when he came out was breathe in the fresh air.
“The smell in here is terrible,” Kane couldn’t help saying
Clea nodded in agreement, but said, “But the quality of the potions in his shop is very good.”
Kane couldn’t help but ask her, “You have a little knowledge of potions?”
“Of course.” She picked Youyou up from the ground. “But what I know is just superficial.”
So the question is, what else do you know a little about?
He was annoyed.
Looking at the position of the sun, Kane asked, “Is there anything else you want to buy, Clea?”
“I haven’t decided yet. Why don’t you show me around here, Kane?”
Kane nodded without suspicion. “Okay. Then I’ll lead the way.”
He did not seem to understand the value of “Have not decided yet, walking around” for women.
At dusk, Kane dragged his weary feet after Clea.
He could tell from the rhythmic sound of Clea’s footsteps that she was in a good mood.
She hugged Youyou and hummed a pleasant tune.
But Kane didn’t feel any joy now.
In his previous life, he was considered a relatively homebody. He had always been focused on his studies in school. After coming out of society, he worked overtime all day long. The only rest time he had was used to play games and watch dramas.
That was why he could do something like bring a four-legged woman shopping.
He was wondering now if it was her female body or her horse’s that had allowed Clea to wander around such a small town for such a long time.
Up ahead, Clea suddenly said, “Kane, that’s a good shop. Let’s go take a look.”
???
Kane was already puzzled. He looked at the pharmacy nearby and made sure his sense of direction was clear.
“Didn’t we shop this store as soon as we left the pharmacy?” Kane couldn’t help reminding her.
Clea glanced around, looking at the pharmacy along the way. She involuntarily said, “Really? Have I ever been to this place?”
Youyou, in her arms, was impatient and threw a map into the air. The entire town could be seen on the map.
Youyou even thoughtfully marked Kane and Clea’s route.
The route was winding and filled almost all the streets of the town.
Well, I can be considered a local now, Kane couldn’t help thinking.
Clea looked at the map in dismay. “Have we finished touring the town? What a shame. Then let’s go back to the tavern.”
This wasn’t a pity at all. I was extremely happy.
