Chapter 29 - A Spar Between Friends

Chapter 29 A Spar Between Friends

Early morning.

The sun shone on a certain open space in Crystal Town. There were some wooden stakes and some simple training equipment.

At this moment, a young man was confronting a female centaur in the open space.

There was only an iron ball flying in the sky witnessing the fight.

This was the training ground of Crystal Town. As the town beside the dungeon, most of the businesses in the town were related to the explorers.

Therefore, how could there not be a place for Explorers to recover and train their skills?

After returning to the tavern yesterday, Clea was very satisfied with him as a reserve teammate.

Similarly, Kane didn’t dislike her, so Clea suggested coming to the training ground today to familiarize themselves with each other’s skills.

This was to get ready for the dungeon exploration after Kane recovers.

Yesterday, Kane had wondered if he could use the life potion to speed up the recovery of his injuries.

However, Clea told him that the life potion was applied externally if the wound was external, and to be taken internally for internal jury.

There was a limit to how many injuries this ordinary life potion could heal. Ordinary external injuries were still fine.

For a larger wound or a severed limb, it would only have a hemostasis effect.

They belonged to first-aid supplies.

On the training ground, Kane looked across at Clea, waiting for her to engage in a combat change.

He’d just heard Clea briefly explain her skills. The gist was that they allowed her to switch equipment quickly.

She would switch her armor and weapons to deal with different situations and enemies.

Furthermore, she said she was a little confident in her martial arts.

Kane could only position her as one first. Melee damage. She could switch to front-row meat shields depending on the situation.

“Lion Heart, Armor!”

As Clea spoke, a white light flashed. Instantly, her clothes turned into heavy armor.

The heavy armor was angular and embedded. There was a roaring lion head on each shoulder.

The style of the entire armor gave off an ancient aura.

The heavy armor extended to the ponytail and wrapped the entire horse like a heavy tank.

Even for a centaur, one wondered how she could move freely under such heavy armor.

Dressed in such armor, Clea looked like an imperial general.

She clenched her hand in the air and a huge shield appeared in her hand. She held the huge towering shield in one hand.

“Attack, Kane,” she shouted, raising her shield to shield herself.

Due to Kane’s injuries, this time they were simply trying to be familiar with each other and know a little about each other’s strength.

Kane attacked and controlled, while Clea mainly defended against his attacks.

He condensed a short spear with a rounded tip.

Clea watched Kane hold the air as if he was about to throw something. She didn’t know what it was, but it must be Kane’s skill.

Focus. Be alert.

Kane threw the short transparent spear with his right hand.

He attacked. He threw something invisible at me, thought Clea.

The transparent short spear cut through the air.

She felt it.

Although she did not know what it was, it was sensed within a certain range of the short spear as it flew to Clea’s side.

She raised her shield to block what she sensed was wrong. There was a bang. Something had indeed hit her shield.

“An invisible attack? How interesting.” Clea licked her lips in excitement.

Kane saw that she had blocked his attack and knew that she had learned his method of attack.

He threw out a few short spears again and shot out a ball of spider silk at the same time.

She was instantly alert when Kane attacked again.

This time there was a visible mass. What was it?

After slapping away the unknown object, the spider silk behind him suddenly unfolded and turned into a spider web.

Seeing that the white object was a spider web, Clea threw the tower shield out and sent the spider web flying Throw away the shield? Why would she do that?

Kane wondered.

The flying shield disappeared in a burst of light.

Then it appeared in Clea’s hand again.

That can happen.

Kane continued to throw a variety of projectiles, no longer limited to spears but added throwing knives, flywheels, and meteor hammers.

He even harassed her with spider silk and stuck it to the shield, forcefully changing the direction of the shield’s block.

In this way, Kane slowly laid various spider silk trip wires around Clea.

Clea also knew he was limiting her range of movement, but that invisible projectile had to come within a certain distance of her before she could feel the attack through the air.

Such an attack exhausted her.

Still, Kane’s attack would hardly break through her defenses.

Suddenly, Clea grabbed hold of a time period when throwing objects were scarce. A stick-like device similar to a gun appeared in one hand.

Fire spat from the muzzle, instantly igniting the surrounding spider silk.

Seeing the spider silk being ignited, the flame-thrower in his hand disappeared, and what appeared was a ball of shimmering mist.

She threw the mist ball out.

The mist ball exploded in the air, filling the air around Clea with glowing mist shapes.

When Kane’s attack flew over again, the mist bodies attached themselves directly to it.

The transparent flying knives in the air immediately appeared, emitting light and were extremely eye-catching.

Clea changed her tower shield to a medium shield and slapped away the incoming attacks.

When the projectiles were no longer out of sight, the threat was greatly reduced.

Was his attack finally broken? It was fine if he bullied the fools in the dungeon.

To an Explorer with combat intelligence, this kind of attack was strong in the first encounter. Once he understood it, it was easy to crack.

Of course, this was based on surviving the initial killing and preparing something that could break the attack later.

It seemed that Clea had prepared many ways to deal with various attacks.

Kane stopped attacking. The exchange had given both sides a simple understanding of each other’s abilities and skills.

This knowledge was enough. If he was satisfied with this trip to the dungeon, there would be opportunities to find out more later.

If they parted ways after this, such understanding would be insignificant.

When Kane stopped attacking, Clea changed back into civilian clothes and walked over.

“Your perception is really strong.” Kane was impressed that she could sense his attack.

Clea smoothed her tousled hair from the sparring session.

She blinked, “Kane, your transparent attack is the one that’s impossible to guard against. And that’s with you injured.”

Then she sighed, “I thought I was already very strong among my peers. I didn’t expect you to be so strong, Kane.”

“Not at all, you’re exaggerating.” So, the two parties started showering each other with compliments.

Youyou was listening to their communication.

So this is how people communicate with each other. Note it down. Note it down.
