“Slow down, Xi Que! I can’t keep up with you!”

Jiang Sheng was breathing heavily for he was being dragged all the way out by Xi Que.

It was not because he was weak but the original owner of this body was lack of exercise, so Jiang Sheng was out of breath now.

“But that was dope! Where did you hide that katana? Can you let me fiddle with it for a while? I’ve never seen a real sword in my life yet.”

Jiang Sheng suddenly sped up and was asking nonstop behind Xi Que like a curious baby.

“That is not a toy you can fiddle with. It’s dangerous.”

Xi Que kept her poker face with no expression as always.

“You are stingy! I’m not gonna break it.” Jiang Sheng pouted his lips and said reluctantly.

“Please don’t tell anyone about what happened today, not a single thing, not even the katana.” Xi Que was walking in front of Jiang Sheng as she warned him coldly.

“Alright, alright, fine. I won’t tell anyone.”

Jiang Sheng was following behind lazily; he didn’t really feel like talking for he was hungry now.

“Ouch! Could you warn me before you make a sudden stop? It hurts!”

Jiang Sheng’s head bumped on the back of Xi Que’s head since he was looking down and didn’t notice that Xi Que had stopped already.

Still, there was no expression on Xi Que’s face and she didn’t apologize either. All she did was turning back and said, “Don’t trust anyone except me. I’ll secretly protect you and we won’t let you die again this time.”

‘Die, die? Sh*t! Why did she turn to the dark topic all of a sudden?

But what is “die again” supposed to mean? Does she know me before?’

Jiang Sheng looked at Xi Que curiously and asked, “Not even Pei Siyan?”

“No, not even that man.” Xi Que was firm about this and her eyes were ice cold.

‘Not even Pei Siyan? What? Isn’t she supposed to be Pei Siyan’s maid?’

“Your identity now is the spy the Prime Family sent to Pei Siyan’s side, so please don’t tell anyone that you are Jiang Sheng. Don’t give yourself away.
