“Shackles? You guys were playing it wild here.”
Jiang Sheng chuckled, walked over and picked it up.
But just as he picked up the shackles, he stumbled and his head started to ache like crazy.
“What, what’s going on?”
Jiang Sheng held his head. The pain was so strong that he felt like he was about to fall, and the whole space was shaking.
“Oh sh*t! Could this be that goddamn Lan Yuan coming out again?”
Jiang Sheng quickly grabbed on the headboard and steadied himself.
However, he still felt the world was spinning.
“Today is his birthday. Please let me out, okay?”
Just as Jiang Sheng was feeling awful, he saw some scenes of a man who looked like Lan Yuan being shackled on the bed; he was crying and begging someone.
“You… Who are you?”
Jiang Sheng was puzzled. For some reason, he felt heartbroken when he saw the man crying.
In an instant, the gentle man whose face couldn’t be seen clearly in his dream came to his mind, and he was shocked.
“Are you Lan Bai? You are Lan Bai, right? ”
Jiang Sheng was so excited that he stretched out his hand to grab him, but his hands just passed right through the person in front of him. He could not touch the Lan Bai who was crying his heart out.
“What? How… how did my hands just go through him? ”
Jiang Sheng was stunned and reached out to Lan Bai again, but he still failed, no matter how hard he tried.
At this time, someone came through the wall and stood in front of Lan Bai. And he started drawing Lan Bai’s blood with a syringe without saying anything.
“I want to see Pei Siyan. Can you let me see him, please, little Yuan? I’m begging you, today is his birthday. Let me out and be with him for a day. One day, that’s all I’m asking for.”
Lan Bai begged bitterly, but Lan Yuan, who was drawing his blood, was very irritated, “What are you crying about? Hold still.”
Then he grabbed Lan Bai’s arm violently so that he could draw his blood more easily.
Lan Bai did not cry even when Lan Yuan’s grab hurt him; instead, he just continued to beg him pitifully, “Let me see Pei Siyan, little Yuan. Just today, just today will do. I’m begging you, as your older brother.”
“Huh, brother?” Lan Yuan sneered, and then with a cold face, he slapped Lan Bai so hard that Lan Bai’s head turned away and blood dripped down the corner of his mouth.
Lan Bai coughed in pain after being slapped, and then spat out a mouthful of blood, staining his dirty white clothes.
He bit his lips and blubbered, not scolding Lan Yuan but asking him repeatedly, “Why? Why are you treating me like this? I’m obedient to you already. Why would you torture me? Why? ”
“Why?” Lan Yuan chuckled, then lifted Lan Bai’s chin and said arrogantly, “Because you resist me, my good brother. I’ve told you before, right? You are my shadow and forever will be. But you, Lan Bai! How dare you take Pei Siyan and try to run away from me? What? You want to protect him that much? Good! I will use your face, and torture that man to death, bit by bit. ”
Lan Yuan’s cold voice was echoing in the room, which sounded unusually eerie.
“No, don’t do this, little Yuan. I’m begging you. Please don’t hurt him. You can hurt me however you want and I will endure it. So, please, would you let him be? It’s my fault, it’s all my fault.”
Lan Bai knelt down and begged Lan Yuan. Tears kept running down his face and his eyes were swollen. It was heartbreaking to see him like that.
“Then, be obedient to me. You can only go out when I ask you to, you understand?” He patted on Lan Bai’s face with warning in his eyes.
“I understood. I will listen to whatever you say. So I beg you to not hurt Pei Siyan. I’ll do whatever you ask me to do!”
“Fine, I’ll give you a chance.”
After that, Lan Yuan took Lan Bai’s blood with a cold face and left through the wall.
Jiang Sheng was staring at all these blankly, not knowing what was going on. Lan Yuan should be dead by now, but how could he still see Lan Yuan?
“Or, is this someone’s memory? Maybe this is Lan Bai’s memory?”
Jiang Sheng looked down at the shackles, confused.
He looked up quietly at Lan Bai, who was curling up on the bed and crying. The Jiang Sheng became sad.
Although he didn’t know the meaning of these cuts of memories, he felt distressed when he saw Lan Bai crying.
“Don’t cry.”
Jiang Sheng bent over to hug Lan Bai in his arms, but Lan Bai disappeared.
The room returned to normal, just like when he came in here, as if nothing had happened just now.
