At Jia Ling's unexpected introduction Mei LiXue was visibly startled, even jumping a little in her seat. Jia Ling watched as she ever so slowly turned her head to face her. It was obvious she was trying to figure out if she knew who Jia Ling was or if they had ever met from the way she moved her eyes and bit her lip, something she did when she was either concentrating or thinking of something.

"Umm... Hello, I'm Mei LiXue, sorry, but have we met before?" Looking at the girl in front of her, LiXue was sure she had never seen her before but if not then why would she approach her. However if they have met before she has no idea where they could have met before today, although Jia Ling wasn't wearing designer clothes or dressed like a nouveau riche but her neat and tidy clothing was different from LiXue's slightly over worn clothes.

Jia Ling also gave her the feeling that she wasn't an ordinary person, there wasn't anything on her that made her appear extraordinary but rather LiXue's intuition telling her, there is more than meets the eye.

"No, but it is a pleasure to meet you today. I was on my way out when I saw what you were drawing, you are really talented. You could even go professional if you wanted. " Jia Ling smiled at her while pointing to the opened sketch book on the table.

Despite her lack of money LiXue always made sure she had at least one sketch book and pencils, even if she had to save for a while or cut some of the money meant for food. As long as she could draw nothing could ever truly get her down, the small library may have been a safe place for her but her true safe haven was art, the only time she ever truly felt happy when she was creating these amazing pieces, each one giving you a look into who she is deep down and fragments of the things she has experienced.

It was almost as if even if everything came crashing down around her she would be fine as long as she could use art as a way to express herself.

LiXue smiled brightly realizing Jia Ling was talking about her drawing. You could almost see the enthusiasm radiating from her, she was one of the people who are truly dedicated to their love of art.

"Thankyou for the praise, but its nothing special. It's just a hobby of mine" she replied happily before turning back to work on the sketch some more.

Jia Ling took one last glance at her before walking out the door. Although they became really good friends before, they were technically strangers right now, if she were to push it, it might come off as weird and creepy. The plan was to meet her and then slowly become friends again, not everything can be rushed.

...

After exiting the shop Jia Ling somehow managed to run into Diu Qi and the other four girls again despite the fact that she should be shopping at the biggest shopping center which was over an hour away.

Spotting Jia Ling, Diu Qi immediately furrowed her brows and spoke indignantly.

" Jia Ling, You!! I thought you had something important to do, yet you're here leisurely walking around. Did you lie to me? I can't believe this, how could anyone dare to lie to me?" The final question she asked almost sounded confused, as if she thought no one would ever lie to her.

"Ahh Now I know what is different, her clothes actually match. Yup that's it!" The same girl from earlier, who commented on her being different once again spoke out, she looked immensely proud of herself. She looked like she had solved one of the hardest problems on earth successfully.

The girl beside her looked at her with disdain for a few seconds but still looked over Jia Ling before silently nodding to herself, agreeing with what the first girl said but making no comment.

"It wasn't long so I was finished quite early but there was no way I could have troubled you to wait for me, I wouldn't dare to waste your time"

Satisfied with her answer Diu Qi nodded. She believed that this was the case since she didn't think there would be anyone who would lie to her. Diu Qi's self-confidence was a little too high to the point she could even be considered a little bit naive. In high society and in the business world this could be considered a fatal weakness as it would make it extremely easy for others to manipulate her.

Jia Ling saw it on the news a few years after her accident, Diu Qi had been arrested and her family business bankrupt then bought over due to her falling for others schemes, this was another reason she wasn't going to bother Diu Qi much, despite her annoying personality and self-importance she wasn't malicious and she almost felt sorry for her, after all, they had both fell for plots without knowing but Diu Qi never got another chance like herself.

"She almost seems a little smarter" one of the girls who had remained silent all along mumbled to her self.

"I thought you were going shopping, why are you here?" Jia Ling asked curiously.

"We were on our way but she apparently had absolutely no sense of direction" Diu Qi pointed and shamelessly pushed all the blame onto a random girl in the group.

"Well it was nice meeting you again, I need to go to the bank so i'll see you again soon, Bye!" Jia Ling replied slightly amused with Diu Qi's shameless action of pinning the blame on her friend.

Smiling politely, Jia Ling continued on her way to the nearest bus station. Your family forgetting you and your step-mother hating you is really inconvenient for transport, when she finds a way to make money she needs to buy a car.

She overheard someone talking about her mother once, she seems to have left something behind for her in a safety deposit box. It's just that she never got the chance to find out what it was, she never knew about it until after the accident and by then she couldn't show up as a stranger to open it and the bank didn't exactly open boxes for fun so she had no way of looking at the contents when she had no body either.
