Elder Shaun was feeling guilty. Even Elder Ning was looking away as Kana slapped the young man almost thirty times before finally stopping. "Humph! Stealing my meat. You're lucky I didn't burn your toes!"
Lou Fu's face was swollen black, blue, and red. He had no idea why any of this was happening to him. He could only look at elder Shaun, who had forced him to eat a chicken and then dragged him here for answers.
Elder Shaun felt Lou Fu's eyes on her causing her to turn and look at him with her hands crossed across her chest as she said seriously. "Who told you to steal her chicken!? Maybe next time, you will think before you go and steal someone's meat and knock people out."
"What!? I never…." Lou Fu's eyes open wide. What crime did he commit!?
"You still want to argue when all the meat grease is all over your face and hands!?" Elder Shaun shamelessly yelled out.
"But you…" Lou Fu was speechless. Who was it that shoved the chicken in his hands!? Who was it that forced him to eat it!? Why was he taking the fall for something someone else did!?
"You still want to argue!? You are lucky we are not crippling your cultivation and kicking you out of the sect!" Elder Shaun was actually stunned all these lies were spilling out of her mouth so easily. She was one to never lie, so for her to be so bluntly lying like this was just…
Elder Ning looked at Lou Fu with a bit of pity. He felt bad that he was becoming the scapegoat for something Kana did. But he knew it was useless to try to explain it to Kana, who was so adamant that there was a meat thief. So in order to not make her want to leave the sect over such a thing, Lou Fu had to take the fall for a crime he never committed nor had been committed in the first place.
"Kana, are you done with him?" Elder Ning asked.
"Mm… No point in doing anymore. It was just some meat and a bump on the chin after all…. But…. If he ever dares to try to steal my meat again, I will string him up naked at the sects front gates! Oh, and if he tries to hit Nana, I will do the same too." Kana replied righteously.
Elder Ning now realized anything before the might of meat was second in Kana's mind. He believed there was nothing that Kana would care about more than meat. Only if he knew that if it was her babies or her handsome husband, she would throw meat aside in an instant.
With the situation finally taken care of, Kana went back and sat at Liu Na's bedside and began cultivating. She decided she would wait here until Liu Na woke up. Fei and the others decided to let her be so they would not disturb her cultivation.
A few hours later, Liu Na slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times as she looked around her room. "Why am I?"
She was quite confused as to what had happened, but before she could remember, Elder Shaun, who was also in the room, whispered to her. "You were hit by a meat thief who stole the roasted chicken that you brought Kana."
"I was what… But I did….' Liu Na started to remember what actually happened, but before she could finish her words, Elder Shaun suddenly repeated: "You were hit by a meat thief who stole the roasted chicken that you brought Kana. Do you understand?"
"I… Yes…" Liu Na felt things were strange, but since Elder Shaun said so, she would just go with it. It was only when she looked down at the side of her bed and saw Kana sitting there peacefully cultivating that a smile broke out on her face. "She's okay…."
"It was thanks to your care." Elder Shaun replied. "I only stayed to make sure you woke up. I will take off now. But remember what I just told you."
"I-I will…" Liu Na still did not get any of it, but she still obediently nodded her head.
An hour passed, and Liu Na had laid there and stared at the back of Kana's head the entire time. It was then that Kana finally opened her eyes and stretched her arms. "Ahh! Still far from my next breakthrough."
"All done?" Liu Na asked as she sat up.
"Ahh! Nana, you're awake! Listen to this! Someone came in and knocked you out and stole my meat! But don't worry, Elder Shaun found the culprit, and I smacked him good. I do not think he will try to steal my meat anymore." Kana excitedly explained as she even demonstrated the motions she used while slapping Lou Fu.
Liu Na sat there in a daze as she nodded her head. She now realized why Elder Shaun told her that someone stole meat and knocked her out. "It seems they used some poor soul as a means to make Kana happy." Liu Na mumbled as she gave a silent prayer to the victim of this mess.
"And then…" Kana went on to tell Liu Na everything that happened during the new disciple tests. The way she spoke and how she acted out some of the situations made Liu Na smile and laugh. Liu Na was happy she had become friends with Kana. Her world, which was closed off, had opened to become much brighter, allowing her to see that being friends and open with others was not a bad thing.
"Kana, you in?" Fei's voice came from outside the door.
"Come in, Fei!" Kana answered as she adjusted Liu Na's blankets and sat down next to her.
When Fei walked in and saw that Liu Na was awake, she became nervous as she bowed her head and introduced herself: "H-Hi… My-my name is Fei. I heard all about you from Kana."
Liu Na looked at the elf girl in front of her and then looked at Kana, who was busy picking at her tail and sighed. 'Kana really is able to gather people around her with ease. But so far, all the people around her were good people.' With a smile, Liu Na greeted Fei back. "Congratulations on joining the sect.. You can call me Nana like Kana does."
