Her eyes scanned the entire place. Ira's knowledge of the chemical process was equal to zero. She knew one thing: You have everything in the lab. Those fluorescent microscopes, autoclaves, incubators, flow cytometers, biochemistry analysers, infra red machine, she recently even got the cytoelecton digital microscope. With this the camera acted as a detector and the images were displayed on the monitor.
If she could describe a lab in a word, that would be: Expensive!
These instruments costed a lot. Even the simplest one was high cost. Being a businesswoman her first though always revolved around the money.
Another word: Tiring!
Being a leader, she had this quality of patience and was tolerant. Yet in this place it was non-existent. It required immense amount of patience to sit though everything.
Analysing the drugs formulations, reactions and those bacteria, their resistance, cultures, checking a single plate with 1000 sections under that microscope....
Even during her studies, she was bad at practical's.
"No, not me." She saw the smile on his face fading. "I got a real genius. Someone better."Ira clarified in a single breath.
"No!" His looked unmoved, like a slate devoid of any interest. It had been ages he had someone to help him. In fact he had a student under him after his retirement from X University. He trained him good, but all his effort went in vain. This kid betrayed him stealing his notes and research materials. Since then he decided not to trust anyone. If it was Ira, he would have though about it. She was honest, sincere and had manged to gain his trust.
He paced forward and continued with his experiment.
"Wait, give him a chance."
"Doctor, the person admires you."
Ira followed him lika an abandoned puppy. She was good at manipulating and using people. However this Dr. Hari was a tough nut to crack.
"One week"
"Give him anything, he will do it."
"Only one week."
"Crack...." A loud strings of sound fell as the stand of glass test tubes fell on the ground.
Ira flinched a step back. When she was single-mindedly following him, she lost balance and her hand hit the stand.
"Sorry," She got tear-eyed.
Last life Ashay and Dr. Hari got little contact. This life she wanted to make things happen. Now she created more mess.
The high and mighty Ira who had never asked for someone's help even during her worst times was nearly begging to this man that too not for herself. This pompous woman had sincere eyes.
"Is he a genius?"
"Huh.... Yes." She nodded her head.
"One week. Now leave and don't create more trouble." Dr. Hari said and walked away.
Ira stood confused only to realize something. Did he mean he will take Ash?
A smile appeared on her face as her mission accomplished.
