'What's wrong with this princess? She seems like its the end of the world. Something is bothering this little girl and I'm sure it is something big. She is hiding something from everyone. But what is she hiding and why would she hide something from her beloved royals? ' Shirley wondered and reminisced the past events, where Aeinshia would just panic for no reason. Keeping her weird behavior aside, she became very closed off compared to before and isn't willing to share any information with Shirley.
'Whatever it is Princess Aeinshia, I will know it. Your secret, whatever it is would come before everyone. ' Shirley silently swore and proceeded downstairs to join other maids.
Meanwhile, Aeinshia was sitting at her dressing table, and stared blankly at her reflection. Just the other night, she was happily smiling and vowed to make her loved ones happy too. But, now, it was like her hope was snatched away. Totally.
She wondered how the situations has changed overnight. Just in the morning, they decided to go and everyone were happy, but within few hours, everything went downhill for her.
"What are you going to do, Aeinshia? You were given a chance, but the time seemed to have given up on you. You are hopeless, now, Princess Aeinshia." She said to herself through the mirror laughing wryly. Well, can't blame her, everything felt surreal to her now. It seemed she really can't change the fated future she need to face, forgetting that those small changes which she made before will surely make a big change in near future of hers.
Her mind was receiving the information, but couldn't react to all these properly. She didn't understand that numbness she was feeling, nor she could explain. She didn't understand whether her emotions were too much, that she doesn't feel the pain, or she wasn't feeling anything.
She sighed. This might be a hundredth time, she was sighing, from the time she sat infront of her mirror, maybe. She stared at her eyes which were emotionless. Suddenly, an unknown anger took over her. She clenched her jaw and balled her fists, fisting her night robes between her fingers.
Tears welled up, as the anger taking over her was too much. She got up and marched towards her wardrobe and yanked out some clothes to get ready. She couldn't face herself. She couldn't see herself in the eye. She hated how her life was going to be doomed again like first. She hated herself for being the weak young lady like before. She thought she is strong and could face any obstacle that comes her way, but when the real time came, she hated herself for backing down like a rabbit.
Her eyes softened when she saw her brother. But, the anger was still present in her system. She slowly made her way to them, approaching them from side. Felix was talking to their butler. "Extra security would be provided for the mansion. Princess Aeinshia and I would be staying in the Palace till the word of capital being safe is confirmed." He finished and at that moment, realizied Aeinshia's presence.
He turned and looked at Aeinshia, who smiled towards him. He knew it was a forced smile, but at least he could return his sister's effort by something. So, he smiled back at her and nodded at her.
Aeinshia walked forward towards the entrance of the mansion, with her maids and the butler following her behind. Felix was the first one to step out. He walked towards the group of guards outside the mansion, their father's specially trained guards, and talked to them.
Aeinshia was about to cross the threshold of the entrance, when she suddenly stopped. She turned around and scanned the house, where she lived all her childhood. After that incident, she was literally locked up in the Palace.
She never came out. She only faced the royals, meaning her uncle, her brother and Evan and the princesses. After the arrival of the Carmondy princess, her life flipped and the details were like a blur to her.
Now, that she looks back to the mansion, the nostalgia was hitting her like a block of bricks. The butler and some maids, stopped when Aeinshia turned around. They also, noticed the teary eyes of her, but they didn't say anything.
Soon, it became too hard for Aeinshia to bottle up all her emotions. She turned around immediately, almost tripping at the threshold, but caught herself and walked as fast as she could towards Felix.
It was still dark outside. It wasn't even close to the early morning. The sunset would be in about an hour. Felix saw Aeinshia rushing outside and he immediately gave out all of the orders and followed her to the carriage.
Aeinshia climbed into the waiting carriage and waited for Felix to board it. Felix came up to the steps and Aeinshia glanced at him. Felix flashed a weak smile and went into the carriage.
Both siblings sat in silence, watching the surroundings wizz by them into the darkness. The occasional wind sounds and the soft chirping of walking birds and the running sounds of the horses were the only sounds heard.
Since, the capital was in lockdown, the early morning shops were not opened. So, the streets of the capital were pretty much abandoned, except the guards roaming around the streets, checking everything and keeping their eyes open for any suspicious activity. Since the Rutz Duke house symbol is printed on the carriage, none of the guards dared to stop them, making their journey to the palace peaceful without any halts.
Soon, they reached the Palace gates and the carriage was being directed towards the Palace grounds, where all the people were gathered up. Aeinshia looked around expecting to see the guards and Generals and Dukes to standing, but was surprised when she found colourful clothes too, instead of armor clad men only.
She soon, realized that the guards were bidding their goodbyes to their families. Her emotions were starting to waver, when she saw those families. So, she sat back in her seat and looked at her brother, who was looking outside.
They stopped at a certain place and it was finally time to get down. The Rutz siblings got down the carriage and made their way towards a small tent, when Aeinshia decided that she wants to be with her brother. They were greeted by the sight of General Hendrel and General Wilson, discussing something with the Emperor.
They approached them and bowed and greeted them. Later, the Generals dispersed leaving the siblings with their uncle. Alexander looked at both of them and understood the situation. He smiled at them and of course, they both returned, as expected they were fake.
Just as Alexander was about to say something, Evan along with Peter by his side, entered the tent. All the three in the tent, looked at them and everyone had an expression of their own.
Aeinshia was looking at Evan, without any emotions while Evan looked almost shocked to see Aeinshia standing there. All the three understood their expressions and Alexander decided to break their awkward silence.
"Evan, are you ready? Is your part ready? Have you checked everything with General Hendrel?" Alexander inquired. He had to find out all these. After all, his son's safety and life was important than anything and he had to make sure about that before anything.
Evan nodded at his father, "Yes, father. I checked with everything." he replied. Alexander moved towards his son and put a hand on his shoulder. "Be careful, son. Whatever it maybe, you have to be ready. Despite, all the guards and security. Remember to not let your guard down. " He told, softly warning his son about the possible dangers he would face when he would be alone.
Evan nodded and smiled at his father. Alexander excused himself and went out of the tent, leaving all the youngsters in. Obviously, Evan wanted to talk to Aeinshia and he couldn't do it with Felix and Peter being there.
"Uh.. I've to discuss something with uncle. I forgot earlier. I would be doing that." Felix said and rushed out of the tent. Peter looked at the entrance of the tent and thought, "I would check up with your guards and General Wilson." Peter, too excused himself. Well, not all of them are as dense as Evan.
Evan looked at his friend, who left hurrily. Aeinshia was looking at Evan's face. She knew, why Peter and Felix went out. But, right now, she can't face Evan. Not with all the messed up emotions inside her.
She was about to walk out of the tent, when a hand held her wrist and stopped her, followed by a soft voice,
"Aeinshia....."
