Cyril nodded seriously to the unidentified elf. He didn't really know how to call her.
'At least introduce yourself first…' Cyril thought. However, he recalled that Druindar also didn't name himself and only did it after making some agreement.
It appears that this is really just part of their manners.
Cyril knows that elves have a queen or king that should be leading them. But he didn't dare to call her "Elf Queen" yet without making sure who she was.
After all, it would be extremely embarrassing for him if he made a mistake and might even offend them unnecessarily.
Before Cyril could even open his mouth to answer, one of the old men behind her already spoke.
"Be mindful of your manners, you are in front of the Third Princess of our nation!"
He then looked coldly at Cyril's group.
Anyway, Cyril finally realized the situation they are in. He nodded at the old man before answering the princess.
"Elf Princess, the items we showed to the commander aren't a bribe. Those are the items we want to trade with your nation in exchange for a bit of your wisdom. We have long admired the elves for their knowledge about magic and runes. We would like to learn from you and we would also like to help your nation with our abundant resources."
Cyril said what the Director truly wanted.
The Runes and Magic of the elves are something that even in his previous life, wasn't truly explored to a huge degree.
It's not because they were too late to discover it but because of the limitation of the Awakened. Apparently, it seems that aside from the perfect ability of the Awakened to wield the Artifacts using their Aura, other forms of mysticism could hardly be learned.
Runes, Arcane, Life Magic, Soul Magic, Summoning Magic, Blood Magic, Cultivation, Enchantment, and other types of magic or mysticism could not be fully learned!
They can only access the surfaces of this magic and they couldn't develop them at all!
In short, if Runesmiths from other Arcane World can create the highest level 9 runes, any Awakened who has talent on it could only reach level 1 or 2 if lucky without any more possibility of improvement.
This is the reason why the people would soon focus on the creation of Artifacts or their acquisition instead of exploring other magic that would just waste their time.
Nevertheless, Cyril doesn't have plans of letting the director know this. After all, even if it's just the surface level, it will still help many weak Awakened or those at the lowest ranks.
As long as someone knows how to utilize them, they would somehow become useful if they have talents about magic no matter how weak they are.
"Magic and Runes?"
The princess raised her brows after hearing Cyril's proposal. She seemed to be weighing the pros and cons of this transaction.
The allure of the Magic Cores isn't something that can be easily ignored. Even if the princess doesn't like it, she would have to consider the entirety of their race living on this island.
For sure, the number of cores they recently gave is already enough for the elves to create a higher level of runes.
After thinking for a while, the princess asked another question.
"Learning our magic isn't something that humans can easily learn. In this transaction, we can consider providing books and scrolls about our magic but teaching them shouldn't be part of the deal."
"Of course! As long as we have references we could use, our specialist would be studying them even if takes many years. We know that the elves are blessed with the affinity with magic while we are not… We can only try to do our best." Cyril said as he smiled. He can somehow read what the princess is thinking.
"Hmm… If that's the case… Old Reinan, take the 8 different books about Elementary Runes Creation and 25 scrolls of nature Nature Magic. It would be in exchange for the six pouches of Magic Cores. Is that enough, young man?"
The Princess said with authority.
The old elf behind her who was cold Reinan immediately bowed and left the room to take the things she just mentioned. He didn't even wait if Cyril would agree with it.
"I would like to see the books first if it's possible."
Cyril smiled wryly. For sure, he would have to help them translate the book as well. Anyway, this will allow him to earn more money and consider buying a middle-class Arcane World for himself.
Right now, a mid-class should only be 800 to a billion worth of money… He has about a hundred million with him right now thanks to Britta's sales and his other trades. He earned all of this just within a few weeks of his Awakening so he's sure that he could still earn a lot more in the following days. Translating these magic scrolls and books might earn him a lot of money as well.
Soon, he saw the books related to Elementary Rune Creation.
He sighed in relief after seeing that they weren't that thick. He opened up the books in front of Silver and the others and confirmed its content.
After Silver confirmed the trade, he immediately took out another special bag that place the items inside.
Cyril, on the other hand, was actually thinking of asking for more scrolls. However, he decided to just let it be for now.
Anyway, the third princess then spoke as Silver hid the items.
"About our next trade… We have to make it a lot clearer. This first transaction is obviously a loss for us. In the next trades, a five Magic Cores is equivalent to a single Nature Magic Scroll. As for the books for the Intermediate Runes Creation… We would like to exchange it for Artifacts or items that can't be found and created here."
Cyril nodded and asked about these things that they are looking for.
"We would like to have any Artifacts or Items with Holy Attributes… It doesn't matter how weak or powerful they are, we will do our best to compensate you appropriately."
