Chapter 210 - New Method

After Cyril managed to leave the High-Class Arcane World, he wanted to celebrate his new life with his Aunt and treat her to a meal.

Since he's no longer worried about his life ending in a few years, he really felt like a thorn was removed from his chest.

This means that he no longer needs to be very up to date to the latest news to find clues about various things and he no longer has to constantly think about how to get stronger…

"Eh? What's going on?" Cyril asked in shock after hearing the news on the television.

Bonnie didn't even notice him arriving at the living room as she was too focused on the news! It was only when he spoke that she realized that he already came out of the Crystal Room.

"Aahhh! Cyril! You finally came back! I'm sure you're tired. Are you hurt?" Bonnie immediately dismissed the news as she quickly checked Cyril's body for any injuries.

"I-I'm fine… Aunt Bonnie... But what's going on here? Is that news real or a movie?" Cyril couldn't help but ask.

On the exclusive news, the TV Reporter is on a helicopter as the cameraman shows the chaos happening in a familiar city.

It is surely the Flushdenn City where the Saint Torido Clan's Headquarters is located. It is an urbanized and flourishing city but looking at it now, it was devastated by many signs of explosions and he can see bodies of soldiers and ashes of the vampires everywhere.

There are even parts that are censored because of the gruesome death of some Awakened who fought against the Vampires.

"Haa~ It happened after you entered the Arcane World. It is an Outbreak… I'm sure you learned about the Outbreak Theory taught in school. The experts said that it's an impossible thing to happen but… it seems that we're not as safe as we think we are."

"Did she mention that? I guess she fully trusts me, huh." Cyril muttered after hearing this.

With that in mind, he decided to postpone the celebratory meal with his Aunt and called Vanessa to tell her he was back.

Cyril arrived at the temporary camp outside Flushdenn City.

With his identity as an Association's Explorer and being an A-Rank Awakened, he was easily guided to where Vanessa was.

However, the detail about the Formation, like the user and the name of the Artifact used, even he was not aware of it.

Soon, Cyril was brought to Vanessa's camp.

She's currently alone and reviewing some papers on her desk.

"You look fine. I guess you can join the next operation this time?" Vanessa asked as soon as she saw Cyril entering her office.

She's wearing a blouse and skirt like an office worker instead of her combat attire he had seen before. Aside from that, this is also Cyril's first time to see her hair tied like a bun. She looked professional… is what Cyril thought.

"I can join. I heard that there were already S-Rank Awakened sent here. May I know the details of their previous operation?"

Cyril asked. He has many questions but first, he wanted to know the difference between the current S-Rank Awakened of this year against the Vampires.

Apparently, since the Outbreak came too fast, they hadn't discovered the various Aura Techniques they could use yet, and most importantly, there are still many undiscovered Artifacts that can be used against the Vampires.

"Great… But before I can tell you the mission, do you know another method to kill the elite vampires? Oh, they call themselves Noble Vampires… I suppose I should use that." Vanessa asked as she sat comfortably on her chair. She seemed to be tired with dark circles under her eyes.

"Another method?" Cyril mused as he knows that they are already aware of the Vampire's weakness.

The sun, the holy or blessed artifacts, and fire…

Although there is a legend that garlic is effective against them, Cyril knows that it would just irritate them and not really affect their combat abilities.

"Right, there was an old method used by the natives… They're impaling the hearts of vampires using a wooden object. That should work against the Vampires. Have you tried them already?"

Cyril suggested after recalling what he heard about the natives or humans living inside the Vampire World.

"Oh? If that really works, then that will help us a lot… Will wooden bullets work the same?" Vanessa asked seriously.

Right now, the number of Blessed Artifacts is just too small. They can only equip a good 200 soldiers which are obviously not enough against the thousands of vampires within the city.

Aside from that, there is also a problem with the Blessed Artifacts which is the duration they can be used.

Unfortunately, the holy power coming from them must be replenished by Holy Artifacts or they will become useless weapons.
