Chapter 152 - The Snow Of Winter Alfheim#3

CHASE'S POV:-

"Stop doing that, you bastard!" I ordered that guy…that guy…picking his nose with brother's body. 

'How dare he do that!!'

"Stop doing that with brother's body, you freak!!!" I shout again, but he just looks at me then grins before pointing a middle finger at me and then continuing to move as he ignores my words.

My forehead twitches as I glare at him before running at him and then kicking him as hard as I can on his back. He flows for a few metres before stopping with his butt in the air.

He then stands up slowly, cleans himself up before looking at me and then blinking in front of me and then flicking at my forehead but before his fingers could hit my forehead, I once again hit him as hard as he could and he once again flew away.

I look at his joke of a character, and my irritation level shots up when I think about how he is doing all the idiotic activity using brother's body.

He once again stands up, muttering,' Aether did really create a monster…sigh..' and then looking at me and speaking, "I am your brother too, if you have forgotten, my dear brother Icelos."

I look at him with a glare before slight tears start coming out of my eyes as I realise that I ran out of ideas about what I should do with this situation.

I then feel someone patting on my shoulders and turn to find Lucy, who is looking at me with a small smile. Her expression tells us that there is little we can do in this situation and we could only wait for Aether to come back on his own. Until then, we should just keep on moving ahead.

I observe the other party members talking among themselves, especially Yavanna and Lilith, who seem to be in a heated discussion regarding something. It seems like there wasn't much problem for an Alfheim Branch to get along with our party, though I really wonder why brother wanted her to join our group. Well, since it's brother's choice, it wouldn't be anything useless I suppose.

I then look at Leraye and Kaneto, who are also discussing something on their own. On hearing their words and topic, I find that they are talking about something related to attack sets and other ways to get strong. Seems like, to be able to fight against a King level enemy on their own, sounds really attractive to them. 

'I wonder how long it will take me to reach that level,' I ponder as I observe the wintery forest right in front of me. It's not really visible, but our power is dwindling here at a slow rate. According to Light, there is a huge circle that covers the whole Winter Alfheim, and that circle is absorbing our powers at a slow rate. The more we stay here, the weaker we will be after all this is over. 

'And then there's that princess…Silvian, was it?' I think as I recall back, Light has told us that we will find Corey if we help Silvian out. It was some form of future casting magic that allows one to direct someone in the right direction. It is powerful, but there is a drawback that it is never direct and always shows you the safest possible path. 

'Though I wonder why it is called a drawback if it shows the safest path.'

Light is walking on his own as usual and Lucy seems to be practising something as she is walking along with us. 

"Is there anything I can do?" I mutter in a low voice, then an idea pops in my head and I use my enhanced senses to see if there are any monsters around us. On checking around, I find some really super strong monster a few kms ahead and a smile forms on my face.

"Lucy-san, there is a powerful monster up ahead. I am going to test my skills there, okay?" I speak as I look at Lucy, who looks back at me then ponders about something before speaking," Let me come along with you."

I nod at her, then we look at the rest of the party members and say, "We are going to hunt for some dinner." Leraye looks at me, then at Lucy and shouts back,"Don't burn it too much, okay? I like my food tender."

Lilith joins the conversation and speaks," Try to keep the brain and the heart fresh, okay? I don't want my favourite parts to be destroyed by magic."

Lucy-san and I nod at them before starting to move in that direction. I once again sense that place to find a few more monsters of similar level there, and the smile on my face widens.

"I will join you guys, too. Looks like something interesting is going on there," Light joins us and begins to move along with us. Confused at his words, I observed the place once again as we were moving in that direction. For a few moments, I couldn't understand what he was referring to, but then someone came running in that monster's direction.

"Is that person trying to steal our prey?" I speak as I look in that direction and a slight feeling of competitiveness takes over my body as I increase my pace towards that direction, but then…

That person…just reaches right in front of a monster, stands there for a few moments before finally falling down on the ground. Looking at the current scenario, I finally reach the place where she fell on the ground. I almost tripped before gathering my momentum and stopping there. 

Light, Lucy, the Monster and I looked at that girl over there before wondering if she was alright in the head? I then looked at the monster, who was looking at us with a confused expression before looking at that girl and beginning to move towards her. 

-Boom

I then see Lucy punching that monster as hard as she can and hitting it away as she then composes herself before looking at the girl and speaking,

"Well, let's just take care of the monsters first.. I am too hungry to think about anything else right now."
