It had been exactly a month and a half since I fell to the Earth and started being monitored/trained by S.H.I.E.L.D.
One thing I didn't think over too well was the number of times they tried to get me into joining them. Either by tricking me or by begging me. Needless to say, it was incredibly annoying.
But other than that, this month (and a bit) had been an incredibly profitable one.
The combat training I'd received from both Thor and Cap was indispensable to my survival. The two of them were masters in terms of fighting, having done it for a majority of their lives. But they each taught me different paths.
Cap, because of his inherent Human limits - even with the Super Soldier Serum - had focused less on his strength and more on technique. Mixing all the martial arts he could, along with gymnastics and his close-combat training during WWII, made him into an absolute technical fighting machine.
Even when up against superhuman fighters, he could still beat them around the room purely on technical prowess. That's not to say there isn't a limit to his ability to cross raw power difference with technique, but it's helped him get by so far. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to know how to use my immense strength, now would it?
Anyway, let's go onto to what Thor taught me - how to fight with Brute Strength. Also weapons training.
We also focused a lot on exercising my body and I've gotta say, Thor's methods are like pushing everything in your body to the absolute brink before thinking "Ah what the hell~" and then throwing yourself over the brink, hoping you don't die.
I can't even count the number of times I've nearly died in Thor's so-called "Basic Strengthening Method".
But when Thor wasn't killing me, we were sparring with our chosen weapons. What are my chosen weapons, you ask?
Well, I have two...three technically, I guess? Anyway, I've chosen my main route to be using my arms and legs as my weapons. Not only can I increase the density of them with my Strength Force powers, but they'll also always be with me. But to keep up appearances, I let Thor talk me into using gauntlets and armored boots.
He gave me some incredibly basic gauntlets but they were incredibly basic because they maxed out in one thing; Durability.
Apparently, these things can get hit by just about anything and not break. Which was pretty stunning, when someone who could break a lot of stuff told you that.
Anyway, those two items counted as my first (and second weapon), the last thing I picked was only picked 2 weeks ago when I found a weird ability I didn't expect to have.
What was it? Well, currently I was using it...
I was sitting down in my room, allowing the fiery energy in the tattoos to flow to my palms and into the air above them. The red fire was collecting into two orbs above my hands.
Opening my eyes, I looked at the orbs before willing them to shape into what I had in mind.
The two of them merged into a bigger orb before slowly turning into a cylinder and slowly extending while getting thinner.
The cylinder continued extending until it was a pole which was about 195cm long but it was still a bit too thick, so I collected all the excess fire I didn't want on the pole and made it a suitable thickness.
Despite being made of fire, the blood red pole looked as solid as any other metal, even giving off a slight metallic glint.
Anyway, I had collected all of the excess fire and sent it to one end of the pole, before slowly molding it into a blade.
The blade was about 20cm long and thicker than the pole in width and its depth was just a little thinner than the pole.
The edge and tip of the blade shone with a bloody fury like it was made to cut and reap lives. Weirdly enough, the edges still had a slight flicker a flame would have, making the blade look like it was shifting between being a solid and a non-solid, but it only made it look more deadly.
The red light from the fire reflected off my own red eyes only making them more intimidating. An excited grin spread across my face as I felt the heat coming from the spear in my hands.
I consciously held all the heat from the spear inside of the weapon, so it wouldn't set my room on fire.
I slowly stood up before twirling the spear around in my hands. The whoosh it made as it cut through the air was like music to my ears.
I didn't worry about my room being bugged as I'd removed all those mics and cameras on day one of being here and I always checked if there were more every night. Luckily, Natasha or whoever put them there got the message and didn't try to pry too much into my privacy.
Looking at the spear once more, I smiled before absorbing it back into my body. I let out a calming breath and the tattoos on my body faded.
Luckily, I learned how to activate the tattoos without the wings otherwise I wouldn't be able to use that power indoors...
For those who are wondering, I hadn't just spent the month and a half training my fighting skill and my physical strength, no, I've been reviewing all the information in my brain about who, or rather, what I am.
It seems that I had a massive packet of information about my Angel Side ever since I came to Earth, it's just I didn't notice it until I really looked for it.
The first part of the packet was explaining to me what I am.
I'm a Nephilim, a mortal descendant of Angels, creatures which were surprisingly actually a species of Giant. This was why Thor was happy to see an Angel as I was practically Kin with him, seeing as his mother was a Giant herself.
Nephilims keep the advantages of their more divine parent, but their form is always much smaller than them. Angels are usually around 25ft+, while Nephilim are like Humans - their height is within human standards but it's usually dependent on multiple factors. The advantages include Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Dense Tissue and therefore Superhuman Durability. Most angels have Superhuman Speed and Reflexes to compliment their abilities as well.
Due to my bloodline, I had these advantages but dialed to eleven. My bloodline was one focused mainly around fighting, so instead of having a lot of the abilities most Angels have, I have a select few which are incredibly powerful.
The Bloodline in Question comes from Helios, Angel of the Sun and War. I was surprised when I found this out as I was pretty sure this was wrong. I didn't know why, just a small nagging feeling at the back of my head.
But the information went onto explain that this Helios was different from the Greek God of the Sun and only took the name Helios when he found he could use the fires of the sun during combat. Originally, he was a Warrior Angel who fought and fought, fighting whatever opponents he could find, doing this for thousands upon thousands of years due to his thirst for both power and excitement. He was apparently quite the odd-Angel.
Anyway, this bloodline gave me access to some powerful abilities. The main one I just used was Holy Fire Manipulation, along with the tattoos which were called Burning State - surprisingly what Thor called it back when I first activated it.
The state opened up all the Angelic Fire Energy in my body, empowering my body and boosting all my capabilities.
But these two were pretty much the only abilities I gained as I didn't quite have all the abilities the Bloodline could offer, not yet anyway.
Basically, think of it like this, I'm a Nephilim of Fire and Combat, so it will take quite a lot of time for me to become a Nephilim of the Sun and War which are both high-level concepts. But it's not like I'll never get there, I'm already pretty confident I will eventually get there, I just need more experience in the world and fighting.
Maybe even learn some magic from Doctor Strange or something...
Anyway, the biggest boost I gained from Cap and Thor's point-of-view was my comprehension when it came to fighting. I'd absorbed all of the Martial Arts Cap had taught me, like a dry sponge soaking up water. Same goes for any of the training Thor gave me.
At first, I thought it was solely the Sage Force helping me do this but it wasn't. It was more like my body was learning it, similar to muscle memory, and the Sage Force was only letting me learn the theory of the martial arts so I could apply them better in combat.
By this point in time, I'd learned all of what Cap could teach me in terms of martial arts and I was practically a master in all of them. Not to say I was the best, as I still hadn't refined my technique through constant battle like most other Martial Masters.
Even the information in my head spoke highly about the warrior instincts given by the bloodline. Pretty much saying it wasn't his Fire Abilities and Burning State which helped Helios survive in his battles for millennia but instead his unparalleled instincts and talent in fighting.
Which I seemed to have inherited. Oh, and one more simply ability as well...
High-Speed Regeneration. Not to the level of Wolverine where I probably couldn't die unless I threw myself into the sun, but definitely enough that it made me incredibly hard to kill.
Sadly, this ability had been found out by Thor and was the reason my training was so hard...
*Knock knock!*
Two soft knocks brought me out of my thinking as I looked over the door which was slowly opening. Once it was open, it showed Natasha dressed in a simple black jumper and some blue denim jeans.
Living with her for a month really was fun, in all honesty, it even helped prepare me for women in the future with how flirtatious Natasha was. No more would I be a nervous wreck in front of beauties!
"Michael, you need to get ready and have something to eat, you've got school today, after all~!" speaking like some kind of doting mother, Natasha laughed at my sullen face, "Hahaha! Don't have such a sulky face, you'll ruin your good looks, Michael! And what did I say about School not being boring? Especially since there are other special kids there, just like you," my face improved when I thought about that point.
I wonder who I'm gonna meet...
As I thought this, I stood up and threw off the tank-top I was wearing. Natasha was also used to me by now, so even though she looked at my perfectly sculpted body, she didn't bat an eye and instead rolled her eyes at me going into a deep think, ignoring her presence and even changing clothes in front of her.
She rolled her eyes once more before walking out of the room and closing the door.
'God help the girls that fall for that kid...' was all that went through her head before she laughed and started making a massive breakfast for the both of them.
{A/N - His bloodline may not be what any of you wanted but still, it's got the right amount of OP when you think about it. High-speed regeneration, superhuman body and instincts, incredible talent for fighting (and therefore killing) and to top it all off, Holy Fire Manipulation. All of these having the potential to be improved as well, so he's pretty powerful. Especially for a 15-year-old.
Just wanna get a heads-up for most people reading, this chapter may have seemed a bit more like a summary than an actual chapter and that's because well, it was. Last chapter was the end of the Arrival Arc and the next chapter is the start of the Highschool Arc which will have multiple mini-Arcs in it. So this chapter was pretty much an interlude.}
