"I guess I want my name to be..." I stopped thinking about it. This was a big moment and I needed it to mean something. Something I could stand by, never backing away from.

As I was racking my brain over this, a word slowly crept up into my head and it came out of my mouth before I could even think about it.

"Michael," hearing what I said, I instantly felt the name was a good fit. Kinda rolled off the tongue the right way, wasn't too long or too short...just right, I guess.

Thinking about my new name, I looked to the woman across from me, flashing her a happy smile to show her I was sure about my choice.

Unbeknownst to me, when she saw the friendly and warm smile from me, she felt I truly did fit the name, Michael. And not just any Michael but the type who could relate most to the Archangel Michael.

A truly perfect male.

While I being me, and not having a very solid personality or world experience just took her silence as her wondering if I was sure.

"I'm sure I want to be called Michael, so could you please put that in my document?" I leaned forward, putting my hands gently on her desk.

Some could say it didn't matter if you were handsome but truthfully, it was an incredible boon in life. Especially with the opposite sex.

"A-ah, yeah, sure, I'll get that down right now...!" she hurriedly scribbled Michael down on the form she had in front of her. She even made a mistake, quickly correcting it with a red face.

Cute.

I found myself laughing as I watched her but it wasn't a malicious laugh, like when you laughed to put someone down. No, it was more of a calming laughter to bring some relaxation to someone, to show them that the situation was a little less tense than they thought.

A perfect example is like now - when someone makes a mistake. Don't go quiet, just laugh at it with them and tell them it doesn't matter.

Anyway, the woman seemed to visibly relax as she peeked up at me chuckling. Once again unbeknownst to me, I'd cemented my image as the perfect man in her eyes. Little did I know that the legend of the Red-Haired Angel would spread among the Women employed at S.H.I.E.L.D.

Soon enough she completed the form, with only one box left, and looked toward me, "What will your last name be?"

"Uhh, it can be whatever. Just pick one, I won't mind what it is as long as it suits my first name!" I winked at her, a playful smile spreading across my face.

What was that? Did I just wink at her? Is this the sort of person I am?!

During my internal existential crisis, the woman entered a serious mode as she started to think of names. While Thor, Cap, and Natasha started to brainstorm between themselves.

"He needs something that stands out, no?" Thor sat in a chair that seemed a bit small for his robust frame with a leg crossed over his other legs and his hand on his chin, while a look of deep thought was on Thor's face.

Natasha, hearing Thor, scoffed, "No, he needs an ordinary name to fit in. He's going to Highschool on Earth, not in Asgard..." she slowly stood up before walking over to the side of the woman brainstorming some name ideas on a piece of paper next to the form.

She looked down at them and nodded her head in approval.

Cap, however, had a hand on his temple, slowly massaging it, "Can't we have this sorted out on a different day? Surnames aren't even that important, I knew a few guys in the war who didn't have surnames and they were still fine men," he looked over at Thor hoping for him to agree.

"Aye," Cap's eyes lit up at Thor saying this but soon went back to their tired look when Thor continued to speak, "but truly great men have surnames. All the heroes of Asgard had noble surnames, showing their greatness."

This little discussion continued on until finally, the woman and Natasha came to a conclusion.

"We've decided upon his name, so Thor, you can stop stressing your Brain," Natasha laughed at Thor as she looked at him thinking so hard about a surname for Michael.

Her admission gained everyone's attention, even my own as her voice brought me out of my thinking. Thor leaned forward, obviously excited to hear what he thought would be a great name that would resound through the walls of Valhalla or whatever went on inside his head.

Cap, just like he had been for the past dozen minutes, was sitting up straight, waiting for this to end so he could go home and rest for the day.

Natasha brought up the piece of paper and looked down on it, "We went through a few names but we eventually stopped on one which suits you pretty well, Michael," she playfully winked at me, causing me to laugh it off but internally I was pretty over the moon Black Widow was flirting with me.

She cleared her throat and read the name on the paper, "Fortis. It can be translated as many things such as Powerful, Strong, Sturdy or even Spirited. It should fit you, no?" hearing the name, I instantly felt a bond with it.

Makes sense, I do have the Strength Force. So, I guess having a second name which means Strong would suit me best, right?

"Well, it's a bit of an odd name to have...but I like it," I found myself smiling now that I had a full name like I was on my way to becoming my own person once again. I stood up and brought my hand in front of me, clenching it, "From now on I will be called Michael Fortis!"

Thor stood up and pulled me toward him, pulling me into a headlock and ruffling my hair, "It may not be the flashiest name, but it does suit you, my boy. Well, it will, anyway, as I'm going to train you to make sure you live up to your surnames meaning!" I didn't resist the hair ruffling, knowing it was much better than having him hit me on the back with his clumsy control over his massive strength.

I felt a bond with Thor, like a kindred spirit of sorts. He wanted fights, just like I did. He wanted to test himself, to push himself to his limits, just like I do. He seemed like the perfect mentor for me.

"Why are you offering to train him? What if he becomes a threat, Thor?" Cap and Natasha both asked the same question at Thor, disbelief at Thor's intelligence and wisdom or the lack thereof.

Thor simply laughed at their queries, "Bah! You think this boy would be a threat to the world? Then let me ask you, am I a threat to the world?" he smiled triumphantly at the Soldier and the Spy.

The two of them didn't know how to react, but Natasha eventually did, "No, you've proven your fight to protect the Earth, but what does that have to do with Michael?" she tilted her head slightly in confusion.

"It has everything to do with him! If I teach him, I can instill some proper morals in the boy!" he paused for a moment, letting me out of the headlock before putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder and pleadingly looking at the two, "He has no prior memories to this world and he'll be lost without guidance...we must strive to support the boy and make a friend of him, rather than shun him and make a potential enemy, no?" hearing what Thor said even I was stunned.

It was so like him, yet also so thought out...Damn. I guess Thor can be clever sometimes.

"I..." Cap spoke but cut himself off before standing up and facing me and Thor, "...I can see what point you're making Thor and...I agree," he turned to me before apologetically smiling, "I apologize, Michael, I've been a bit of a douche today. I've been dealing with some personal problems, so I hope you'll forgive my behavior and allow me to help train you along with Thor," he slightly bowed his head in shame but he kept eye contact with me.

Seeing how serious he was being, I let out a good laugh.

...I think Thor is having an effect on my budding personality...

"Don't worry about it, Cap, I kinda guessed something was up but it's fine nonetheless, but you better teach me to the best of your ability. I don't want to turn out weak or anything," I cheekily smiled, catching the man off guard.

For the first time today, he let out a laugh, "You got it, kid. I'll teach you how to use that brute strength of yours!"

Meanwhile, Natasha was rolling her eyes before she walked up to the woman and thanked her for putting up with them.

The woman said it was fine before hurrying off with the documents to get them finalized and to also spread news of Michael, a real stunner of a man and seemingly also Thor and Captain America's student.

"Come on, you two, Michael and I need to go sort our living arrangements, you can drown him in training tomorrow, I'll bring him to the training room," she paused before remembering something," but that arrangement can only continue for a month and a half, because he's gotta start Highschool at that time!" hearing her talk about school instantly put a dampener on my joy and excitement from learning I'd be trained by Cap and Thor.

Despite my reluctance, I followed Natasha to get the living arrangement stuff sorted. We'd get a three bedroom apartment with plenty of space so we didn't get in each other's way.

There were 2 different bathrooms, for starters, no walking in on Natasha getting out of the shower for me. On the flip side, it meant no getting out the shower in front of Natasha nude, so I guess the good cancels out the bad? But I wouldn't mind it much either way...

Stop! These bad thoughts are gonna get me in trouble or something...!

Anyway, we were in a car on the way to the apartment currently. It was in a nice part of New York - the real expensive part - but when we got there it was all a bit...bare, I guess.

Natasha seemed to think the same thing as she told me we were going shopping one of the days, to help inject some life into the apartment.

And after realizing I had a distinct lack of clothes, she said would go out and get me some clothes while I was training tomorrow.

Luckily, we found a few pairs of blank white clothing in my bedroom, so I wouldn't need to stay in the S.H.I.E.L.D trainee clothes. (A/N - black shirt and sweatpants, each with a small S.H.I.E.L.D logo on them. Not canon, just thought it made sense.)

By this point, it was already quite late, so after some food and finding out I ate a lot (and I mean a LOT of food) I said goodnight to Natasha before going to bed, eagerly awaiting the training session tomorrow.

{A/N - Man, it was a real close call between three names for the MC's name. Michael (Obviously), Lucifer, and Azrael. But the thing that really pulled the winner out for me was that Michael was the one that most fit that world. Lucifer and Azrael just wouldn't fit in an American Highschool, while Michael would easily fit in. Sorry to those who are disappointed but I like the name Michael.

And for his surname Fortis, it just fits what he is and what his powers are. So there shouldn't be any problems with that, right? Anyway, credit goes to Macben who suggested the name. Even if he suggested it for the first name, I'm still using it, just for the surname.

Ah, and I'm pretty much decided on his Bloodline, so the reveal should be soon~}
