"Alright. I will now tell you about the jobs. Villagers have many branches and they're the most common. If they evolve, Villagers can become farmers, miners, and other jobs. And again, I can't tell you how you evolve your job.
"Moving on. There is a Leader Job. They're usually governing a village, a town, or even a kingdom. They're mostly nobles, so we don't really mess with them. Luckily, there are no nobles in this town, so no one can bother us. And the town security is good because of Aran and this town can run just fine.
"As for warriors, they're good at melee, so yeah. They're usually in the very front of the group. Then, there is the Magician. The form of magic itself is unique to everyone. They can control fire, water, and other cool stuff. Their firepower is crazy in certain situations, so they're highly sought.
"As for the last three, Scout will increase the sensitivity of your senses, but this job doesn't look that good in most people's eyes. After all, they can become a thief, an assassin, and other jobs. I am not trying to badmouth them though.
"Anyway, Healer is also good for you because you can help people recover, boost their abilities and other helpful stuff. As for the last one… The Ranger is the opposite of the warrior. They're using ranged weapons to attack their enemies. This is the basic explanation about jobs and you should be able to gain more knowledge about this later in the future. For now, you may want to get a job first before learning more."
"I agree. It's better to focus one at a time." Albert nodded in understanding.
"Good. And this is your money. You should get a pouch too to place your money."
"Yes. I will have one together with my bag."
"Good. You should also buy some daily necessities like clothes and other stuff."
"Let me take care of myself first before talking about other stuff." Albert scratched the back of his head and made an awkward smile.
"Ah, sorry. I got carried away. Anyway, that's all. I will be watching your performance tomorrow."
"Okay, thanks." Albert nodded and finally left the guild.
He followed Fila's direction and made his way toward the equipment shop.
The shop looked similar to any other house. The only difference was the fact the shop displayed shelves of weapons so the customers could choose easily.
'Hmm? Since I can only use Bonk Bat, I don't need to get a weapon. How about a shield? It's a different purpose than a weapon, right?' Albert asked Bonkey.
[You can try touching them to see whether you have a reaction or not.]
'Seriously?' Albert already had bad feelings after hearing that statement. His eyes wandered around the shop before resting on a skinny young man that had been staring at him for a while.
When their eyes intertwined, the young man smiled and said, "Welcome to the shop. How can I help you?"
"I need a backpack and some pouches," said Albert.
"How big is the bag? And what's the quality?"
"I am not very sure. I have a limited budget, so maybe durable but cheap."
"In that case…" He ducked down and picked up a brown-colored backpack. "I recommend this one. The leather is made of horse's hide. It's pretty durable and you can get one for 30 copper coins. This is the most popular one among newbies."
"30 copper coins…" Albert hesitated for a second and thought, 'Should I spend my money on this? Still, it's going to be an investment in my future… I guess I shouldn't be too stingy.'
After considering the pros and cons, he asked, "How about pouches?"
"In that case, I recommend this one." He took out a small leather pouch and said, "This is a normal size and can hold an average of a hundred coins at a time. It's only 5 copper coins."
"Okay, I will take them. Maybe two for the pouch."
"Certainly." He smiled and took out another one.
Meanwhile, Albert walked around the store while asking, "Do you mind if I take a look around?"
"Not at all. Please take your time." The young man waved his hand like it wasn't a big deal. In fact, he seemed to be quite happy that there was a customer.
Albert went to a shelf filled with spears. He tried to touch the spear's handle and electricity seemed to be transmitted from the handle to his entire body. He instinctively took a step back while gritting his teeth.
'I guess I can't really use any other weapons…'
He then found a few shields and touched one of them before getting the same reaction.
'I can't huh… This is considered a weapon, I guess.' Albert sighed, resigning to his fate. He continued walking around and found something that piqued his interest. It was chain mail. Since he couldn't wield any weapon, he thought he could put on armor to protect his body.
However, electricity jolted his mind again when he touched the armor.
"…" Albert was frustrated as he complained inwardly. 'Bonkey. What do you mean by this? Back when I first arrived in this world, you said I could wear other clothes and the ones I wear are emergency ones.'
[There is a thin line between clothes and armor. Clothes are for fashion while armors are to protect you.]
'If that's the case, shouldn't I get armor as well? Bonk Bat alone won't be able to appease me.'
[Of course. However, it's too soon for you to get one. Just like the skills, you will receive them when the time comes. Please take one step at a time.]
'Can I bonk you?'
[I am not horny.]
'Then become horny.'
[I'm not you.]
'Fuck off.' Albert was frustrated with his current circumstances that he couldn't help but make a small joke with Bonkey. In the end, he only paid for the backpack and pouches before leaving the shop.
He went to the previous inn to prepare himself for the test.
