Chapter 165 - Five Rulers

'That's quite hard.' Albert sighed inwardly. On the one hand, he felt happy there was much more to explore. On the other hand, he was worried those strong people would come to hunt him down immediately.

'Whatever. I need to focus on what's right in front of me instead of those people.' Albert sighed and said, "Anyway, that's what I know."

"Is there really another land beyond the sea?"

"Definitely. I never went through proper education, but I knew one thing. There should be another land. We just never sent people to find them."

"What if I send people now?" Lilith asked.

"There's also another problem. We don't know their location. The world that we know is actually a sphere that is floating in the empty darkness we call Outer Space. That's where the stars we see during the night are located."

"A sphere?" Lilith frowned. "If you claim this world is a sphere, that means the water will fall down at some points."

"The planet has this thing called gravity. It pulls the water, our body, and all other things down. It's like a magnet that forces us to stay inside this planet. That's why even if it's a sphere, the water or any of us won't fall down." Albert shrugged. "As I said earlier, I'm not an educated person. This is just common knowledge."

Lilith fell silent the moment she heard about all this. The reason why Albert emphasized it as common knowledge was to show Lilith that most of the people from Albert's world believed such a thing. And they must have confirmed it to make it common knowledge.

"I see. In that case, I also need to prepare for an invasion from another continent. Although I don't know when and where they will come, it's better to start the preparation early." Lilith looked down, contemplating her next move before scratching her head. "And I still need to think about the war. Such a hassle."

"Hey, woman. I want to change our term. I don't care about this place anymore. Instead, when you find that other land, you will bring me there." The salamander suddenly became interested in this other continent. After all, the other four Great Beasts like him died under their hands. He surely wanted to challenge those people.

"That's also good." Lilith nodded with a serious expression. She was quite surprised when Albert translated his words, but seeing the salamander's face made her believe the salamander had changed his objective.

"Anyway, do you know anything else about the past era?"

"That's all I know. If I need to add, I guess it's the strength of other Great Beasts like me."

"Right! Who are they?"

"There were once five Great Beasts. We all were rulers. I'm the ruler of Mountain and Fire, Agnis. Levia was the ruler of water, the river, and the sea. She was a serpent.

"As for Mourta… He ruled over the sky and wind. He looked like a bird but with a humanoid body. People called him the Birdman.

"Garock was the ruler of the day. His appearance looked like Mourta, but instead of a humanoid body, his body was the exact copy of that of a human. He called himself an Angel.

"Last but not least, Mithra. She was in charge of the night. No one had ever seen her real appearance because her body was enveloped by black flame. Our strengths were pretty much the same."

Albert translated it to Lilith before asking, "If only we can know whether they died like an ant or a fighter…"

"What did you say? Are you insulting the rulers?!"

"Let's talk logically here. If it was the former, the opponents were much stronger this time. The severeness of this matter had gone through the roof. So, I want to know more about this." Albert sighed.

The salamander stopped talking and understood Albert's concern.

"I see. Knowing this potential danger alone is enough for now." Lilith nodded. "No one knows when they will come back, so all we can do is to prepare for their arrival. We won't go down that easily."

Albert nodded. "Well, if you need my help, just contact me. After all, my life is in danger too."

"Thank you." Lilith smiled. "You really did a good job today. I need to prepare a big reward for you this time. Do you have anything you want?"

"Nope." Albert shook his head.

"Well, try to think about it for now." Lilith waved her hand and continued asking the salamander.

The topic changed from the unknown threat to the culture of the previous era. Lilith had been curious about this because there might be some knowledge that she could use to improve her kingdom.

Unfortunately, when the topic came, the salamander kept bragging about how great he was as a ruler and kept looking down on the people that served him.

Even Lilith couldn't contain her disgust when she listened to his story. For Agnis, the people who served him were just a mere ant that he could crush easily. Killing them was nothing but mercy.

Their lives were completely under his hand.

Lilith, on the other hand, saw her people as dear comrades. She wanted to stand, walk, and move forward together with them. This was her quality as a ruler. Of course, she was ruthless enough to enforce rules, or people would think she was a pushover.

After Lilith couldn't bear to listen to his story anymore, she changed the topic to other stuff regarding the previous era.

Albert continued translating their conversation while having a thought of his own.

The conversation lasted for several hours because there was too much to be shared, and the salamander never refused to answer Lilith.

Time passed by, and they finally reached the town where Lilith invited several healers to help with the salamander's injury.

As soon as the healer started healing the salamander, Albert approached Lilith and said, "My job is finally over, I guess."

"Thank you so much. Truly…" Lilith smiled. "It's really a shame that you're not one of my people."

"Ahaha. I just want to roam around. That's enough for me."

"Yeah, I know. I'll notify Raisa about your interest in participating in the war."

"I'm not there to participate in the war. I'm there just to hit people." Albert shrugged.

"I won't forget to add that as a special note." Lilith winked.

"Alright. See you soon." Albert waved his hand and flew away with Shella.

Little did he know, because the salamander could understand what he said, the former had some idea on how to take revenge on him.. An evil smile appeared on his face.
