Chapter 204 - 188.5

While the time duration in the silver haired young man's side were limited but in the Eliza's and Berry's side were not bound to it.

The long black haired girl and the strawberry haired youth were finished with their match and the tide that was supposed to be in the Redforth's favor were turned around to the Alliance.

At this moment, it was a match of the Rose and Terances. Poison versus Venom.

The contenders were specialized in the wood charm, while the Chang Brothers were a variant of plant charms, the Vipers were a variant of turning things venoumous.

The Vipers were just an established name for the two members of the Terances as they were specialized in animal variant. They were also one of the teams who got out of luck yet still it was luck in disguise. Their doubles wasn't supposed to be the current participants but that were the names that came out from the line-up then they had no choice.

Gu Hai was a wood Charmer who specialized in beast taming while Zhen Jun was also a wood Chamer but more of in the animal variant, he could make any harmless beast venoumous and what was difficult with him, he could instill venom in any part of his body. For example his nails and skin, just a contact of it then one would be inflicted.

"Brother, let's be careful," Chang Jing said to his older brother. Chang Ming knew the thoughts of his younger brother so he agreed.

They had been competing in this doubles segement which meant that they had both a tacit understanding and they were also siblings. They were together since birth, although they weren't twins but Chang Ming was just a year older and their birth date were separated by a day.

Wasn't it coincidence or a fate of brothers?

The selected dueling place in the doubles was a mixed terrain. The theme wasn't survival but just a pyramid elimination match. There would be a one-on-one match for every team that would be climbing up and it was made to be based on the accumulated team points for the last three tournaments.

Although the Rose had been the previous Champion by a little point margin but it couldn't be said when it came to Blues that were kept on giving them a stalemate when it came to contributions points.

The Alliance had been a fierce competitor but it their fire stagnated after their team was reformed and the Blues came to be the next rival which was shoulder to shoulder with the Rose.

Then in the pyramid elimination round of the doubles segment. The Blues would be the last contender to be faced off. That was the fixed spot while others were at a random.

Eliza expressionlessly looked at the fight between the Rose and the Terances. It was already known that the Chang Brothers would still win on this match despite their opponents were full of agressive fighting power but it wasn't matched with the coordination of the Changs'.

But Eliza knew that this match would be a bit difficult to handle by looking at their opponents' movements.

"Berry, prepare." It was a simple reminder but the strawberry haired young man who had been in dazed their due to sleepiness, awakened. He knew that they would face off the Rose after this match.

He perched up and observed the match that was about to finish with just one perfect strike.

--------

Chang Ming admitted that these uncalled pairs were a bit hard to handle for them. Chang Jing could only launched his special ability if he got in a certain distance with the opponents and that was difficult to execute. Everytime, Chang Jing tried to get close and locked with Gu Hai that was less to be dangerous, Zhen Jun would appear and sent out his partner's pet Night Howlers to handle them.

The two Night Howlers weren't venoumous only their ferocious bites were fatal but once Zhen Jun touch them, he instilled venoms in their claws which was difficult for Chang Jing to get a close distance activation.

Moreover, the mixed terrain wasn't just for show as it was convenient for all charm ability users. It could maxed out the highest degree of skill ability control and their charm precision which meant that even though Chang Ming as a wood charm user with a plant variant could only used his charm in a forest terrain, he could freely summoned plants on any kind by his own will in the mixed terrain.

Both teams were at an advantage with this type terrain but it would only be decided in how they would use it at their advantage. The advantage could be at the same a disadvantage.

They never knew.

"Jing, I will distract them while you stealthily plant those 'things' of yours." Chang Ming had made up his mind.

They must win this because the other option would be losing. And other than the team's prestige for his inspiration in winning this match, he also wanted to duel with Warring Thunder.

He remembered that time when he suffered a fatal hit that almost ended his life. Chang Ming had no idea what had been running in Berry's mind at that time because he just suddenly struck a overwhelming bolt and immediately ended the duel while he instantly left.

It was luck for his younger brother to be protected by him during that perilous moment which made him severely injured and it almost made Berry to be banned in the tournament but he was the one to not allow it because he was the victim so the coordinators let it off.

Chang Ming wasn't resentful by almost knocking at the death's door. He was just fired up to defeat that guy. What infuriated him was the lazy expression of that strawberry haired youth, seemed to be harmless but it was just a cover.

The drowsy Berry by the side: he felt chills on his body, sensing an ill omen.

-------------////

The pink scarf was something out of place in this library setting and it gave the silver haired young man a headache while she looked through again to the librarian's cubicle, she might have missed something there.

The black furball that she was squeezing earlier was now in his best behavior, resting at the shoulder of the silver haired youth. Chun figured out the identity of the bug and it was none other than her forgotten 'pet' Thundra. That legendary thunder bird who looked like a snotty peacock while it haughtily challenge her during her trip to that island which she forgot the name off.

Or was it an island?

Mysteriously, Chun was able to established a mind link to Xiao Fen. The Thundra was happy to know that his master was alive.

Xiao Fen had been in doubt since Chun was left sleeping in the Shuho Household due to some unknown 'illness'. Art, the butler of his master didn't stayed calm as that Demon Prince travelled back to his father's land to procure a 'mystical cure'.

While the Shuho Household had been in chaos, the thunder bird slipped through. He escaped from the household while trailing to follow tendrils of his master's spirit connection to him.

He was fortunate enough to end up here.

'You mean that father and my brothers were in distress of finding a cure for my abnormal sleeping condition?'

'Yes...'

Chun fronwed. How did it stand as if she was suffering in an illness.

'Who was the doctor?'

'Master---'

'Chun.'

'Chun-ni Master!' Xiao Fen immediately corrected with his nickname to his master.

'It was due to a passing wanderer. She said that she was a travelling doctor.'

Meanwhile, Xuan who had been silent at the side could only see that that the black furball on the silver haired young man's shoulder was kept on 'Chi chi chi' while Chun would occasionally pat it as she continued to search around.

'Doctor? Why would suddenly a 'doctor' appear out of nowhere?

"Chi chi chi."

'Yes. Xiao Fen finds it odd as well.'

Chun decided to dismissed that topic while she had another pressing matter.

'Aside from that, did you find something strange about that silver box?'

"Chi chi chi."

'Chun-ni, I had a look at it while your body fell asleep and ancient runes slowly were stretching at that silver box. That seemed to the Deity of Prevalent Tragedy's marking.'

As a legendary thunder bird, guardian of the Mountain Qi together with his kind. He was more familiar with the markings of the deities.

Chun knew that this Thundra wasn't aware of her deity identity due to having no time to talk with this guy seriously. It could be explained that this was the sloth birds fault. He had been lazing in her room since Chun had picked him up. The bird had been no use to her so she almost forgot about it but looking at this current situation, the bird was useful when finding its master.

She had known also from bits of their conversation that the blood contract between her and Art was still in active while she away. Xiao Fen ȧssured her that the demon was still healthy because of her preparations of stacking up her blood for the other.

Chun was rest ȧssured but still worried of the Shuho Household. Her father and brothers wasn't in the know of her situation.
