137 The Attack

"Congrats my friend, now you are one of the richest men in the empire"

Benedict's friend, the manager, came to him with a wide grin on his face and gave the space ring that had the life energy stones in it.

"Don't worry about paying Benedict, I've already deducted the amount for the items you bought and plus the fee for our service"

Nodding his head, Benedict took the ring and checked the ring to confirm.

The moment he looked into the ring, his muscles went rigid seeing the stacks of life energy stones and it took him several moments to recover his senses.

"If you don't mind me asking, why are you buying the orcs, Benedict?"

"My employer is a collector, Ron"

"Well, that explains it. Wait here the orcs will be here in a second"

After a few minutes, the guards brought the orcs to Benedict and they were chained around the neck, legs, arms as the chain prevented the orcs from even moving a muscle except walking

"Here are the slave bonds"

The manager gave Benedict a box as Benedict didn't even open the box but put it inside the space ring.

Looking at the orcs, he could see the anger and humiliation in their eyes but it was not the place for Benedict to tell the orcs about Everlight

"I recommend you to hire our security Benedict, these are dangerous times"

"Yes I should"

As he said, Benedict passed the ring to Gael in case he forgot but when he passed the ring, he heard a feminine voice

"That won't be necessary"

And when Benedict turned to look at the direction of the voice, he saw an old woman appeared out of nowhere near Benedict and said

"Who are you?"

The woman appeared to be old and wore a blue kimono but something about the old women rubbed Benedict in the wrong way as the woman looked at Arya

"Child come with me"

As she said, the old woman raised her hand and a blue energy bubble enveloped Arya.

"Hey, who are you,let me go?"

Arya shouted and tried to break the bubble as Gael dashed forward to attack the woman but the woman sent Gael flying with a simple look

"Heavenly realm"

The orcs, Benedict, the manager, every single of them were startled and felt the magical fluctuations making it hard to even breathe in the presence of the woman. Fortunately, Gael had bound energy running through his body or the pressure wave the woman sent would have killed him in the spot. But even then, Gael was fighting with death as the blood started to pour out of his mouth and nose.

" these disgusting creatures can't come with us"

The woman pointed at the orcs and Gael as she clearly recognized Gael as an elf despite the mask he wore.

Benedict wanted to run to Gael and help him but he couldn't even move a muscle as the woman turned to look at him

"Let's go"

The woman disappeared with Benedict and Arya as Gael struggled and reached his hand out for them

"Your majesty, help"

"GUARDS!"

The manager shouted for guards as the orcs stood there and watched Gael struggling but before they guards came, Don appeared in the room before Gael

"Here drink this"

The orcs and the manager became startled to see another figure appear out of nowhere. Don had to pour the healing potion into his mouth as Gael couldn't even move his mouth

"What's happening?"

Gael didn't get any better even after drinking the healing potion as Don carried him and appeared beside the orcs

"WAIT! STOP WHO ARE YOU?"

The manager shouted at Don but before he could get an answer, Don disappeared along with the orcs.

"What the heck are these people?!"

"Brother, what happened?"

Catalie was crying looking at Gael's bloody body as Don carried him towards the hall

"Cat, call Knight"

Don didn't have time to deal with the orcs in the teleportation room as he left them with Prince Nikalas

"You did this to him?"

Knight appeared with Catalie in a flash as Don kept pouring the healing potion into Gael's mouth

"He was attacked by a woman"

Don heard a hoarse voice as he turned to see Nikalas coming towards him with the orcs.

"GAEL!"

Amaryll's scream echoed through the hall as she came running towards Gael and knelt beside Don

"Gael wake up"

The orcs were shocked to see the elf girl and in a second, they saw the dwarves running towards Gael

"Me king, what happened to the elf?"

"He was attacked by someone"

"What is this place?"

One of the orcs asked his friend looking at the elves and the dwarves under the same roof with the humans

"I think we are at the safe haven Torug"

(A few days ago)

A group of orcs standing before a small lake in the middle of the Forest.

There were dead fishes floating on the water surface as many orcs women were crying and praying in their language.

"Hagu, the lake was poisoned, we cannot use it again"

An old orc woman sounded worried and said to Hagu, the leader of this orc tribe.

"Mother, without this lake we cannot survive. We are not strong enough to hunt the magical beasts in the deeper forrest"

Ever since HAgu born, they were using this small lake to fish and drink but without this lake, they had to go to a river that was far away from their tribe.

However the river was constantly used by humans and if they saw the orcs, the humans would certainly alert the kingdom guards and that could bring a disaster upon the tribe.

"Who could have done this?"

"Doesn't matter now Hagu, we have only food for another two or three weeks"

It was almost two days since HAgu ate anything because as a leader, he needed to provide for his men and children rather than feeding himself.

"What do we do now mother?

The old woman was asking this question herself as she sighed and said

"We need to move Hagu, we need a new place to set up our tribe"

"What about the safe haven we heard from the human, mother? Do you think it's true?"

"It's just a myth Hagu, the dwarves and the elves under one roof, humph"

The old woman snickered and continued

"Even if it's true, do you think they'll take us, the orcs. There's no human in this world who would take us in Hagu, we are not pretty as elves or skilled as dwarves, the only thing we know is to fight"

"Then where do we go, mother? We have already lost too many good men fighting the slaver merchant's guards, we are not as strong as them"

Since the orcs had neither the resources nor the fighting experience of their ancestors, the tribe only had a few skilled fighters and even Hagu himself couldn't handle a couple of masters in a fight.

"We go where we should have gone a long time ago Hagu, the outer lands"

From their current tribe's location, Hagu guessed that at least the journey to the outer lands would take a month but the bigger problem was going there without getting captured or killed by the humans.

"But mother taking the entire tribe will be a huge risk, what if I take some men and go to outer lands and find a safer place to set up our tribe, the fewer people could move way faster"

"Alright, you should leave after the sunset"

As she said, the old woman gently touched Hagu's head with her head and went to check on the tribe.

"So how did ye end up as slaves?"

At the moment, Hagu was reminiscing the events to the people in the Steel Chick tavern as a dwarf asked Hagu

"We were attacked by a group of humans led by some woman named Natasha"

"How did she manage ta attack ye brutes?"

Hagu felt a mix of embarrassment and anger seeing the laughing dwarves but he sighed and said

"She was a peak great master, we were no match for her"

"Hey, leave them alone for a moment will ya?"

Hagu turned to see a half-elf walking towards them and taking a seat beside them

"I am Dior, people call me uncle Dior around here"

Uncle Dior reached out his hand as Hagu nervously shook his hand

"I'm Hagu"

"Welcome to Everlight, Hagu"

Hagu and his orc friends were the center of the attention in the steel chick as the elves, dwarves, the demi-humans, humans and every single one of them stared at the big orcs as Hagu asked Uncle Dior

"What is this place? how come you "

Hagu did not finish his question as the dwarves started to laugh again

"Our king wou' kill us if we don't get along with this overgrown elves"

The elves grunted at first and then seeing the silly look on those drunken dwarven faces, they also started to laugh and drank together

"Look Hagu, I know this must be new to you and I was just like you once.In Everlight everyone is equal,we all went through so much pain and struggles but here,we are safe"

Even if Hagu couldnt believe it or feel like home,he and his friends didnt have a choice. For them it was Everlight or Slavery, and they chose the first and since even the elves were living freely here,Hagu decided to ask Don for his permission to bring his people here.
