Life is a blessing and we only have one of it. In this life, we have plenty of challenges and heartbreaking events that we at times feel like we won't be able to move on from but as long as we have the ones we love right beside us it makes it all worth it.
One of life's gifts is finding someone you can share the rest of your life with, someone who will be there for you through thick and thin and love you for who you are not what you have.
Qie Ranzhe had found such a person who was currently lying in his arms. He wanted nothing more but to spend the rest of his life with this man and no one else. As he lay on the bed his gaze lingered on Wen Qinxi with a hard to describe smile on his face.
They had arrived at his uncle's villa on the island around 10pm. Wen Qinxi could have noticed something was off but because it was dark and he was half asleep when they landed he didn't realise that something was fishy. Qie Ranzhe still hadn't disclosed that by the end of the day tomorrow they would be married.
Maybe it was because he wanted to surprise him at the last moment or he was scared to tell him that he couldn't wait to be married and planned all of this behind his back. He knew Wen Qinxi wanted to marry him. It was just a matter of when but he couldn't help but fear that he would be rejected.
He planted a gentle kiss on Wen Qinxi's soft lips before silently preparing for tomorrow morning. That is to say when Wen Qinxi woke up he found himself alone in bed. He scratched his dishevelled head of hair while looking for his phone but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't find it.
Wen Qinxi lazily got off the bed and put on his slippers. Yawning while scratching his belly he walked to the bathroom but just as he entered he caught something in his peripheral view. He took a step back and craned his neck to see a reflection of something in the walk-in closet.
He cautiously entered only to find a range of slim fit suits hung on a rail, a bouquet of 99 red roses, a black box and an envelope. Wen Qinxi didn't know what this guy was up to again but he was surely interested.
He opened the envelope and remembered he didn't have his contacts on. He took his glasses from the pedestal and read the note while walking back to the walk-in closet. Midway his steps paused as he held his breath. His fingers slightly trembled causing the note to shake.
The words were simple and straightforward. "99 roses mean that I will love you till I die. I will keep my promise to you and if you want to be my husband today and move on to the next chapter in our lives then meet me downstairs at 11 am. I will be waiting."
One might assume that he would be upset about being blindsided but Wen Qinxi was a simple-minded person. He loved this man and they were already engaged so what was there to wait for? This was his exact thinking. If he could drag Qie Ranzhe to the marriage registration office by the ear he would.
Now that Qie Ranzhe had jumped the gun and went ahead of him, he couldn't contain his joy. He opened the box only to find an expensive watch with black leather straps and brown stitching. It looked like something that would weigh heavy on his wrist but his attention was on the initials engraved on the case back. 'QIRAN' was what was engraved on it with an infinite symbol underneath it.
Wen Qinxi smiled while biting his lower lip. "Cheesy," he mumbled but the smile on his face could reach the heavens. He put everything down and went to take a shower. He was really grateful that his hair had a fresh new cut otherwise he would look shabby at his wedding. Come to think of it, it was Qie Ranzhe who insisted on having a haircut with him. "Damn it, I got played," he said as he pushed back his hair standing in front of the mirror.
Just as he walked out of the bathroom the bedroom door was knocked once then opened. Thinking it was his future husband he unconsciously put on a warm smile only to find out it was his mother and brother.
"Ma!" he yelled tightening the knot on his towel with a WTF expression.
Mama Wen didn't seem fazed by it walking in like there was nothing special to see. "What are you worried about, huh? I carried you for nine months and bathed you till you were seven," she said placing the coffee in his hand, "Besides we brought you breakfast."
Wen Qinxi placed the coffee cup on the pedestal before rushing to look for a bathrobe and cover himself up. It wasn't only the tattoo that he was hiding but also the ton of hickeys that stubborn husky left on him. Unfortunately for him, Mama Wen had already seen it.
"What the... Argh. You, you had a tattoo?" she said while covering her mouth in surprise, "You are afraid of pain and you..... how?"
Wen Danzhe threw himself on the comfortable bed and said, "Not when he is drunk. If I hadn't stopped him he would have had it on his thigh... Ouch!" when a pillow was thrown at him to shut him up.
"You two should take it easy... what kind of games are you playing in between the sheets till you have so many hickeys?" asked Mama Wen purely out of concern.
"Haha he looks like a fuckin poker dot," said Wen Danzhe laughing his ass off in amusement.
Mama Wen also hit him with a pillow and said, "You are the one to talk when you are still single... Oh, by the way, do you remember that cute guy from the airport? I got his WeChat business card if you are interested."
Wen Danzhe stared at her blankly before saying, "He is a boy!"
"Yes, I am well aware of it so...," she said as Wen Qinxi slipped into the walk-in closet before silently closing the door. This conversation was none of his business.
"No, I like girls," he said with his gaze moving to the door. He was probably thinking of running away before his mother says something cringy.
Mama Wen rubbed her chin and said thoughtfully, "I get that but how do you know you won't like a boy if you have never tried it. Even Dr Machu is single.... wah, I am going to match you two up. This is exciting."
"God no, that's not happening. Dage save me!"
"Don't bring god into this. Even he can't save you.... hahaha," said Mama Wen teasing her youngest son to her heart's content. Wen Danzhe just wished he could dig a hole on the ground and bury himself.
Lucky for him his older brother still cared. He came out of the closet in time to stop his mother's stray conversation. He was dressed in good-fitting black pants and a white long-sleeved slim fit shirt and a white suit with a black lapel. Paired up with black formal shoes he looked like a revamped version of Wen Qinxi.
He looked so handsome that his mother almost cried while taking out her cellphone to take pictures of her dashing son all dressed up like a penguin.
