She had Wen Danzhe quickly set up for the hair combing ceremony while Wen Qinxi was still in a good mood. Before he knew it, Wen Qinxi was sitting in front of a mirror with his mother reciting,
"May you be together all your lives from beginning till the end,"
"May you have a harmonious intimate marriage till old age,"
"May you fill your home with your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all over the place,"
"May you enjoy abundant wealth and an everlasting marriage."
These words resonated with Wen Qinxi as he walked out of the villa towards the garden. There was a lot of things going on but his mind was on that one person. He went where they told him to go, did what they told him to do which he did absentmindedly because all he was thinking about was Qie Ranzhe.
And when he finally saw him patiently waiting for him in front Wen Qinxi broke into a radiant smile with a tear streaming down his cheek. He was so happy that he didn't notice he was crying.
He could hear the few family members exclaiming at the sweet moment but it was all background noise to him. In this space, it was only him and Qie Ranzhe, no one else.
Mama Wen was the one who had to wipe his tear before nudging him forward. Wen Qinxi was trembling from excitement and wanted to break into a run and just embrace the man but he managed to control his emotions and exhaled deeply with each step.
Qie Ranzhe wasn't calm either. He was as nervous as Wen Qinxi it's just that he hid it well. With two of them standing in front of their closest family members they bowed to heaven and earth, showed respect to their elders and bowed to each other unlocking a new chapter in their lives together.
This was a beautiful ending to a beautiful story of two men's long journey to find love. In his excitement, Wen Qinxi forgot the letter he promised Qie Ranzhe. One would think that Qie Ranzhe would let it go, right? Wrong!
The guy brought it up in the modified version of the bridal chamber. At his question, Wen Qinxi loosened his bow tie and complained, "Seriously, you are going to hold it against me on our wedding night? Fine, just don't regret it."
He took the piece of paper from his laptop bag and cleared his throat with a sly smile on his face. Qie Ranzhe walked over and wrapped his arms around Wen Qinxi's waist reading along with him.
"To my sweetheart,
I don't know how else to express my feelings for you without embarrassing myself so please bear with me.
My feelings for you weren't love at first sight. In fact, throughout high school, you were an unattainable piece of jade with a hot temper which meant I stayed as far away as possible from you. Never once in my life did I ever think you and I could or would become a thing.
I was so convinced of it even when I heard the rumours flying around in the office that you and I had something going on between us. At the time I imagined you had a line of beautiful ladies ready to serve you so why on earth would anyone think we had something going on.
That is until Flagship happened and I fell in love with you by the second world. I sincerely believed I could hold back and only love you in the game but I was wrong. When I came out of Flagship, I knew I wouldn't be able to keep my promise.
When I thought you kissed someone else I broke down but it made me realise that my love for you went beyond Flagship.
So what I am trying to say is that l love you. I love the way you seriously study a microwave manual just so you can warm up food for me. I love how you hold my waist and show the entire world that I belong to you. I love the way you look at me like I am the only person in the world.
I love everything about you and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
Love you always."
This nerd might have been embarrassed reading out his letter to Qie Ranzhe but this CEO was so smitten that he couldn't help but kiss his lover till he was breathless.
"I love you too," was what Qie Ranzhe whispered into his ear as he caught his breath, "And I will love you till the end."
The End...
Three years later.
The office door was pushed open startling Wen Qinxi so much that he almost bit his tongue.
"What are you doing?" asked Qie Ranzhe looking at him suspiciously.
Wen Qinxi closed his laptop and said, "Nothing, nothing...," with his gaze shifty like a guilty person. No, he wasn't watching porn nor was he chatting with random people online. Their relationship was stronger than ever but Wen Qinxi had developed a new obsession which was incredibly worrying.
He had created an AI similar to Qie Xieling both in appearance and character which was very concerning. It was, for this reason, Qie Ranzhe decided to take out the business card Nu Shen gave to him at the launch of Flagship.
It was her uncle's number, a genetic engineer specialising in unconventional research. He had managed the impossible and produced children from same-sex partners but because his research was expensive people rarely sought him out. Seeing how his partner wanted a kid of their own, he decided to give this Frankenstein a call. He could have gone the surrogate route or adopted which he had no problem with but Wen Qinxi was obsessed with the idea of adding a Qie Xieling into their lives.
Unwilling to have an AI for a son he got in contact with Prof Nu and today it was the day to pick up the baby which was meant to surprise Wen Qinxi.
"Come... I want to show you someone," said Qie Ranzhe before pulling Wen Qinxi out of the room.
Wen Qinxi let Qie Ranzhe drag him along and blindfold him as they drove out of GameX. He had no idea where they were going but he couldn't help but get excited.
When they walked into the private ward, Wen Qinxi could smell the faint scent of disinfectant so he became concerned.
"Are we in a hospital? Are you hurt? " he asked frisking Qie Ranzhe underneath his shirt.
"Baby,... no not in front of the baby," said Qie Ranzhe causing Wen Qinxi to quickly remove the blindfold with a scowl on his face. But his brow raised when he saw the munchkin in the baby hospital crib.
"That's..... he," pointed Wen Qinxi with his heart beating so fast, "Awwww, it's Lin Lin. How?"
He asked when a document was placed in his hand by Qie Ranzhe who was wearing a praise me look. Wen Qinxi read it and couldn't help but be gobsmacked, "Is that why you kept taking my...?"
Qie Ranzhe, "Mn."
"And the secret house project? Is it because....?"
"Yep," replied Qie Ranzhe but the reward he was expecting didn't come. Instead, it was given to the baby who had just started making a fuss like he knew his mommy was around.
Wen Qinxi held his son in his arms and couldn't help but take a sniff with bright eyes. He was happy with a family of two but a family of three was even better. "You are amazing," he mouthed to Qie Ranzhe as baby Lin Lin clutched Wen Qinxi's t-shirt tightly.
The family of three was complete finally marking the end of Saving the overbearing CEO.
