39 A Visit from Adam Yu

Fan MeiLi's Apartment

Monday-Evening

Instead of going out to dinner with Zhang Jing, Fan MeiLi decided to go home and relax. While she was happy to get a call from her bestie Jenny, all the gossip around the company really was weighing on her nerves. Fan MeiLi was enjoying her time watching a sitcom on TV but she was interrupted by a rapid knocking on her door. When she went to see who it was she was surprised to see Adam Yu. Opening the door, "What are you doing here?" she asked with wide eyes.

"Sorry to come so late but I need your help," he said rushing into her apartment. Closing the door, Fan MeiLi crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at him. "First, tell me how you found my place?"

"You might be a great hacker but I have my skills as well, Rose," Adam said with a smirk. Rolling her eyes, Fan MeiLi sat on the sofa and motion for him to sit on the seat across from her, "Explain?"

Seating down, Adam Yu pulls out a USB and places it on the coffee table. "Whoever is helping Kang Sena, they upped their game. I found this at the location you gave me and the sender mocked me for being to slow." He said with anger in his voice.

Hearing what he said had Fan MeiLi very intriguing. Grabbing the USB, she put it in her laptop and begun to search through the content. Seeing the message that Adam talked about hadFan MeiLi smiling. While the program looked simple it actually had a very small tracking so that the creator could keep tabs on whoever opens the file. Too bad for the mystery person, Fan MeiLi was able to disable it and made sure her laptop was clean before creating her own program. Taking their program she made it so that when it's opened once more that it will redirect the source.

She really wanted to know who created the program but it would cause an unnecessary problem for the future.Fan MeiLi focused on making programs that would redirect the source, all while forgetting Adam Yu. Adam, on the other hand, kept quiet and watched Fan MeiLi, he had seen the look in her eyes when he had when he saw a problem that needed to be solved. After ten minutes, Fan MeiLi finally lifted her head with a smile.

Giving Adam back the USB, "First off, I helped you because I was intrigued not because you tried to trick me. If I saw that small virus program so did you, and I sure that what is really got you upset." She said tilting her head.

Looking at the USB Adam frowned, "You're right and I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do and you popped up in my head when I was down in my luck."

"I probably wouldn't have helped you, but I did only because you have a security problem around you." Fan MeiLi said crossing her arms and leaning back. Anger started to form once more in Adam's eyes after hearing Fan MeiLi's statement. Someone was keeping aclose tab on him and preventing him from meeting Kang Sena, he hated he couldn't track them down. Fan MeiLi could see Adam Yu getting angry from her comment, she also knew she could help him but she had a problem because of her boss.

While the two were lost in their thoughts Fan MeiLi broke the silence and stood up, "Okay, Mr. Yu, if you please." She said motioning toward the door.

"Please Rose, won't you help me catch these rats?" Adam asked giving her a pleading stare. Letting out a sigh, "I'm truly sorry but no. Whoever this person is very skilled and while I believe I could narrow who he is I don't want my name out in our dark web world." Fan MeiLi said.

Chuckling, Adam Yu smiled and shook his head, "Don't worry about it, I knew it was a long shot but I needed to ask. Still, thank you for tonight." He said walking to the door. Before she closed the door Fan MeiLi stopped Adam Yu, "Hey! I hope you find her and your child." Adam gave her a small smile and walked away.

Closing the door, Fan MeiLi looked at the ceiling thinking about how crazy her day has been. Taking a deep breath, she looked at the window and wonder how long she could finally get her peaceful life.
