46 In Motion

While Fan MeiLi and Li Wei were having their conversation ignoring all those around them and their weird stares. Emily Xu started to see red when Li Wei gave Fan MeiLi such a kind and warm smile. She hated that Fan MeiLi was receiving the care and adoration that Li Wei should be giving her. On the other side of the room, another woman was giving the couple a hate-filled glare. Sarah Wu was able to get an invite by sticking to one of the powerful CEOs in the city. She worked like crazy to make her plans come true and with the help of the Li's family enemies, it would be done.

Hearing a ding, she looked at her phone and smile when she read the text. [Everything is ready. The information will be shown during the speech.] it said. Looking back at the couple, Sarah Wu smile, be happy while it last because soon you'll be crying tears of blood, she thought.

After getting some drinks, Li Wei brought Fan MeiLi around to talk to a few guests. When she heard her phone dinged she wasn't surprised by the information. Getting Li Wei's attention the two went to a silent corner to talk. "So?" Li Wei asked when he was sure no one else was listening.

"Apparently, they'll put their plans in motion during the speech portion of the party." "I see. Then since they want to put on a show, we'll make it a grand one for all to see." Li Wei said in a cold tone and a wicked glint in his eyes. Nodding her head, Fan MeiLi than proceed to activate the program on her phone. Now all the two had to do was wait for the guilty party to begin their plans.

Back at the head table, Li Na was looking at Li Wei and Fan MeiLi talking in whispers in a corner. Leaning toward her mother, "Mom, what do you think about big bro's girlfriend?" She asked. Madam Li glanced at the couple and shrugged her shoulders, "I can't make a decision just yet withonly a few words spoken between us." She said.

Glancing at Li Na, "Even with that in mind my first impression of her isn't bad. I'm mostly curious about how she was able to melt your cold-hearted brother." She said with a bright smile. Laughing at her mother's response, "So true, we need to have a sit-down and figure out the secret." Li Na stated.

Elder Li was enjoying his party, but his mind kept going back to Fan MeiLi. He didn't know why but the young lady looked very familiar in his eyes. When he saw his dear grandson and his girlfriend coming back to the table, he put those thoughts to the back of his mind. Later, when he has more time, he'll get his team to do an investigation on Fan MeiLi.

As the night went on Fan MeiLi's weird feeling started to rise by the hours. She knew it couldn't be anything related to the current problem, but she still felt it was focused on Li Wei. Looking around the room, she tried to spot anything that would cause a direct problem to her boss. Not seeing anything, Fan MeiLi tried to keep calm and avoid the fate of fainting from the pain in her gut. Li Wei started to notice the girl on his side getting paler by the second.

Getting close to her ear, "Are you okay?" He whispered. Not wanting to cause a scene she gave him asmall smile. Excusing them from the table, Li Wei guided her to the back resting area. Now in the back room, Fan MeiLi sat on the sofa and tried to appear calm and in control.Crossing his arms, "Explain! What's wrong with you?" He asked glaring down at the pale woman. Shaking her head, "I'm fine or at least will be in a few moments." Fan MeiLi said in a soft voice.

Li Wei narrowed his eyes, not knowing why she was lying to him. "Go back out there, the speech will be starting soon." Fan MeiLi said giving him a smile and showing that she was fine. Letting out a sigh, Li Wei sat next to Fan MeiLi completely shocking her. "What are you doing? Ifthe speech starts and they began their plan and succeed." She said quietly.

"You think they could win over me?" He asked in a dark tone. Fan MeiLi with her eyes close to let a smile form on her face. He was right, Li Wei is the cold emperor, there is not many who can stand on his level. The two sat in silence for ten minutes. While Fan MeiLi waited for her weird feelings to die down. As quickly as it came, it went away and Fan MeiLi started to feel better, seeing her open her eyes, "Feeling better?" Li Wei asked.

Nodding with a slight blush, she stood and grabbed her purse. Turning around she gave him an actual smile from the heart, "Thank you," she said then walked back into the banquet hall.

If she would have looked back a second time, she would have seen that cold emperor returning her smile that actually reached his eyes.
