Chapter 7: The Introduction

Silas Agnes' POV

I was smiling when I was sitting in the living room when the night was still early after dinner. My father entered the room before I was standing up to greet him.

"Father, I have something to be discussed with you. It's urgent," I said as I was looking at him. My father was arching his eyebrow at me as I was urging him to take a seat. He did in front of the fireplace that was crackling softly to warm the room. Even though it was sunny all day in Cyprus, we still get chilly.

"So, what do you want to talk about with me, son?" My father asked me as I was taking a deep breath as I was standing right now. I don't think my father will be expecting this news from me but I will tell him right now.

"I have engaged to a lovely lady tonight," I said before my father was turning his head to me. I was smiling at him before my father was blinking his eyes at me a few times.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you right. Do you say that you got engaged tonight?" He asked again as a confirmation before he nodded at me. He blinked again before he was smiling at me and getting up from his seat.

"Jolly, what a surprise! So when will you introduce her to us?" He said as he was patting my shoulder. I was smiling brightly at my father as he was nodding at me.

"So, who was she?"

"You will get to know her tomorrow. I don't want to ruin the surprise," I said as I was smiling at my father before he was laughing at me wholeheartedly.

"Now, have you told your mother about this?"

"I was thinking that you might be saving this news for her?"

"Well, I'm sure will deliver to your mother right away tonight. Now, shall we celebrate this with liquor? Finally, my son will be getting married. I have been praying since the day when you stepped to the States for you to get settled and married someone here," he said as he was hugging me. I smiled before he was pouring some liquor in two glasses and handed one to me.

"To our future,"

"Amen to that," I said as I clinked with my father and sipped on the wine. I smiled as I cannot wait to introduce Dana to my parents tomorrow morning.

The next morning, I was getting up early and did everything that I can to make sure that I was looking good to meet her. I smiled in the mirror as I was ruffling my hair before stepping downstairs to the front door as I was whistling. The butler was arching his eyebrow at me as I was smiling at me.

"Isn't a good day?"

"I must say, sir, you are exceptionally happy today. Any special occasion?" He asked before I was smiling at him.

"You can say that," I said before I was looking at my watch. It was 8 AM and I have promised my fiancée to pick her up.

"Wish me luck," I said as I was stepping out of the mansion and went to the car that I told them to bring out.

"I'm sure everything will run smoothly, sir," he said before I was inside the driver's seat and I was speeding toward Dana's apartment. I think my heart was jumping in my chest and I was smiling like an idiot all the way there.

I parked the car in front of the apartment on the sidewalk before I was getting out of the car. I did not see Dana out of the apartment yet so I was smiling as I went up to the door. I was ringing the bell before a man was opening the door of Dana's apartment.

He was a tall person and his hair was orange. His eyes were brown and I don't think I have to get on my defense when Dana was coming from behind him.

I saw Red.

"Jay, why don't you get Emily out? I have to lock the house and I don't think that you want to stay here while I went out with my fiancé," Dana said before the stranger was eyeing his eyes at her.

"This is your fiancé?" He asked as he turned to look at me. I stood taller as I will not be intimidated by him or his build. I gulped when I thought I have to fight for my position in Dana's life.

"Jay, calm down,"

"No, I will not. Do you even know who he was? He's a playboy, Dana. He is Silas Agnes, the town's most eligible and playboy of Nicosia," he barked at Dana before I felt defensive when he was shouting at Dana.

"Now, you see here—" I said before Dana interrupted me.

"And you're a psycho that goes around his bets friend back to keep her safe. So tell me brother, which one of us has the right to judge someone, hmm?" Dana said as she was facing down on Jay, I think was the name. He scoffed before someone was calling after him.

"Jonathan, what Dana means by that? Are you stalking me before I got married to you?" Someone was talking as Jonathan paled. I think I saw the blood was drained from his face.

"No, my love, I don't think—"

"And that's my cue to leave. Come on Silas, we leave the couple to sort themselves out," Dana said as she took my hand and we were out of the apartment. I was looking at Dana before I saw Jay was talking to someone. That woman was beautiful with her black hair and she has a baby bump on her stomach.

"Don't mind my brother. Jay has always been protective of me," Dana said as she was settling inside the car and I was looking at her. I smiled.

"Well, I think this was getting better and better," I said as I was speeding out toward my house. Dana was arching her eyebrow at me.

"Really? I never thought that you love drama so much," she teased me as I was taking her hand and kissed her knuckles.

"I thought I have to kill your brother, thinking that you were cheating on me," I said before Dana was frowning at me. Then, she smiled.

"Wait, are you jealous?" She asked me before I looked at her briefly. She smiled as I was laughing at her assumption.

"You are! That's why you wanted to kill my brother! Oh my, I never pegged you as the jealous type," Dana said before she was squeezing my hand. I laughed before I was parking my car in front of the courtyard of my house. It was a mansion really but I don't think Dana was impressed.

She had her face was looking around like it was something ordinary.

"Well, here we are," I said as I was looking at her. She was nodding at me before I got out of the car and I was opening her door. Dana took my hand and we were standing in front of the mansion.

"Nervous?"

"Why would I not be? This is your parents we're talking about. Of course, I was nervous. What if they don't like me?" She asked me as I was gripping her hand.

"It's okay. If they don't like you, nothing can change my choice of wife. I will marry you and there is nothing they can do about it," I said as I was looking at Dana. She smiled weakly at me.

"You're a hopeless romantic," she said as I was smirking. "And you like that about me," I said before we were walking inside the house as the drama unfolded.
