Chapter 17：New Target

"Chip.. continue to gather as much information as possible.. I'm going to go get ready." Chip beeps and continues gathering information. Another good reason to have an AI doing this.. their emotions don't get in the way.

This time I'm going after a man named Henry Kyles. He was the one in control of the whole thing and by taking him out I can take them all down. I'll start with Henry and finish with his nasty little lackeys. The kids are between ten to eighteen.... kids... I finish strapping up and this time I grab my dual hooked blades... I wanted to cause some pain.

I walk out after putting in the contacts and Chip says "I've completed the search. I have all the information we'll need. I also have a layout of the entire building and everything surrounding it. If anything else happens we will recalculate and make proper changes as we go." I nod my head and slip on my hooded jacket.

I pull out my black mask and say "Let's do this." Chip moves to my earring and we leave. Once at the bottom I look at the several vehicles I have and sigh.. I want my bike. Chip opens the garage door and I'm surprised to see my bike sitting in the dark.

My stomach flips and my heart races... he knows where I am... How? "Chip?" Chip quickly says "I made sure to cover our tracks.. No one should have been able to follow us.. I didn't even detect anyone on the outside cameras.." I tighten my fist and grit my teeth.

Did I pick up something? I then think about my wrist but shake my head.. no way. There's no way.. I walk over to my bike and circle it but don't touch it. I look around the dark street but I don't see anything. "Chip.. scan the bike and make sure it's clean."

Chip beeps and only after a few seconds he comes back and says "It's clean.. and the gas was topped off..." I roll my eyes and run my hands along the side of the sleek black beast.. my beast. Maybe Alec didn't want to kill me.. if he didn't want to kill me then did he really just want to work together?

The man isn't normal though.. and something that's slightly terrifying... "Let's go or we'll be behind schedule." Chip beeps and I slip my leg over the beast and crank her up... I love the way she sounds. I put everything behind me and we take off towards the buildings they were holding the kids.

I can never make things right for the ones who are hurt and tortured by people like them but I can set them free and make sure their safe... It may feel like I'm not doing much considering all the horrible things that happen in this world but to the ones I save... It means the world and it keeps me going.

I'm still trying to hunt down the ones responsible for my Grandfather's death but there isn't much information to go on.. the trail has gone cold more than once but I won't stop.. I won't give up. They will die by my hands... even if it's the last thing I do. In the meantime though.. I will help as many innocents as I can.

I seem to be getting closer and closer as well... somehow they're connected.. somewhere in this large web of evil people in power. I will make my way up and kill them all... it's the only way I can rest at night.. the only way I can keep living. I kick the bike up another notch and make my way down town.
