It was quite a normal day at school.
Shiraishi was the only thing that was on my mind.
Since Shiraishi and I started dating, things haven't progressed even a bit between us and that was concerning me. She chose a terrible time to start things up, as it was a week before the mid-terms.
Because of exams, our teachers were taking extra classes and laboratories which left me with no time to talk with her in school. Even though we mostly were talking over text, it didn't feel as effective as it would be if I were talking to her in person.
Unlike me, she was quite chill since her stream had relatively less stress than mine. Other than that, she was trying to invite me over to her place to study together. It was quite a wonderful opportunity for me, so I decided to take it.
Spending some time alone with her will surely help me to know her a bit more and get closer to her gradually. My idea of getting close to a girl was rather passive since Shiraishi was active from her side.
Too much desperation leads to an unstable relationship, especially when it just started.
Everything that was happening was due to her initiation, which narrowed things down to the point that was obviously a disadvantage for me. If she would take initiative, then my progression would stop.
I needed to be the one in control.
Shiraishi was relatively a difficult girl to understand. Even though I haven't talked with her much, I could safely assume that it would be difficult to get inside her mind.
The thing with the previous targets was that they had an underlying weakness that I exploited in order to make them overcome that. But Shiraishi apparently has nothing that could be used against her.
Rumours.
She got rumours about her all around the school and she seemed pretty chill with it until she thought that even I was starting to believe them. Her reaction was quite berserk, as if something inside her broke.
The reaction was quite unnatural.
Since she is already obsessed with me as it seems like, I had a pretty good plan in my mind but for that, I would have to wait till exams are over
I was fiddling through my bag and noticed my biology notes, which reminded me that Seryoku returned them as he promised yesterday. He was indeed a man of his words. No wonder he grew friends with most of the people in the class.
I haven't talked with him much, but he definitely was a person with whom one wouldn't face much awkwardness while striking up a conversation. Both of the times I had a conversation with him, it felt quite smooth.
Not to mention that not only the girls from our class were after him. He was quite popular with girls from other classes, too. Considering it was only two weeks since he came, he sure became quite popular.
Of course, he was blessed with good looks, but he wasn't cocky because of that.
I was sitting on my computer chair, going through my notes. We were done with dinner, so I decided to revise a bit. Lilith wasn't in my room. She didn't even have dinner, so I packed her dinner in the fridge. She was lying still on the couch for some reason.
One might think that she's dead, but she was breathing, so I didn't give it much thought.
For the past week, Lilith's health has been getting worse day by day, but she has been trying to act like she's fine. I have been indirectly looking after her since she was obviously not a human, so there was no way for me to help her.
But from what I was observing, it seemed like she was getting weaker day by day. Last night, she broke a glass as it fell from her hand. And most of the time I look at her, she is always sleeping or lying down quietly.
I was done with revising a few physics questions and it was getting quite late, so I decided to head over to bed. I picked up my mobile and noticed a bunch of texts spam from Shiraishi.
I sat on the bed and stretched my arms. Solving physics was indeed a tedious work even though it's simple if I can get my head around the concept. I was replying to Shiraishi's texts when I heard the door open with a creaking noise.
Turning my eyes towards the door, I noticed the figure of Lilith standing near the door with a weird look on her face. She slowly crept towards me, which I found really weird, as I gave her a questioning look.
Her eyes were looking at me, but at the same time, it felt like she wasn't actually looking at me. Something was unnatural about her body language, as she didn't speak a single word. The white top she was wearing was apparently dripping with her sweat.
She stood right in front of me, as I could see her feet trembling and her chest moving rapidly. Without saying anything, she reached her hand towards my shoulder and pushed me down. It was so sudden that I couldn't get any time to react.
"Wha… what?" I was startled by her as she was now sitting on top of me. She was breathing heavily and her eyes were barely open as her face was clearly illustrating her sickness. I raised my head, took support from my elbows and asked her, "Oi… are you good?"
She didn't say anything except staring at me with her half opened crimson eyes. Her neck was glistening with sweat, as her chest was moving rapidly. Strands of her messy silver hair were blocking her face slightly.
She leaned in closer to me, as her soft hairs brushed over my cheek. I could feel her breath in my ear as she whispered in a weak and low tone, "Sai....shi."
