Yuna Senpai was standing in front of me while playing with a strand of her hair. Her avid eyes looked at me in anticipation of what I was about to say.
Looking behind my shoulders, she asked as I came from the playground, "Oh… you're trying on the selections too?" Her eyes shifted towards me as she added, "Which event?"
Rubbing the back of my neck, I awkwardly answered, "Actually, none. I'm not good at sports."
"Eh?" She looked at me in confusion. Well, she knew about my bout with Vivian, so it shocked her when I said that.
Looking at my face, she decided not to pry anymore, and jumped straight to the point, "Anyways, what do you want to talk about?"
"I hope you aren't in a hurry, Senpai." I asked, as she seemed rather relaxed.
"Oh… no no…" She nodded her head from left to right with a small smile. She then proceeded to look at me with innocent eyes that would make any boy lose his composure and become bashful.
"But what does Kouhai-kun want from me?" She asked in an oddly sweet voice and emphasised in the 'Kouhai-kun' part
I showed her my palm and sighed, "No need to make it weird like that."
"Ooof, you're fun to tease!" She chuckled while covering her mouth with her right hand. I wonder if she is single or taken. A girl like her can't be single for sure.
I gestured to her to walk with me as I started talking, "So what's the deal with Ryuhan Senpai?"
She looked with wide eyes in surprise, "Oh… I don't… know…" After a slight pause and thinking over it, she added, "He seemed fine today… when he came to school."
"He was really pissed yesterday… I was startled by him." I said, recalling events.
"I know… sorry that you had to watch all that." With a small nod, she bowed slightly to apologize, which actually was unexpected on my side since I didn't think she would take it that seriously.
I bent down to look her in the eyes and said in a casual tone, "Ahh… it's not your fault… "
She raised her head, but it looked like she was sad thinking about it, so I continued the conversation, "So… what are you guys thinking?"
"I…" She was about to say something, but I interrupted, "Next week is the sports festival."
"I am seriously lost right now." Her open mouth closed, and her shoulders slouched as she let out a heavy breath.
Silence again grew between us before she broke it, "The club has really degraded ever since she became the president."
Looking at me hesitantly, she added, "I don't want to sound rude, but the things Ryuhan was spouting were true to some extent."
I picked up the point, which intrigued me the most, that Ryuhan definitely slipped out at the moment. With an agreeable nod, I said, "I remember him saying something about Vivian Senpai's relationship with her too."
"Oh, that's a whole other issue, but yeah… their relationship suddenly ended…" She turned towards me and shook her right palm as she said that.
She then added in a tone which revealed her baffled predicament, "And when we asked her about the reason, she just said that it wasn't working out between them."
"Really?" I asked in a tone to make it sound like I was shocked.
"Don't get me wrong, looking at Vivian Senpai, I can tell he still cares for her." I said, just to make her realise that I indeed knew about this. Even though my information may be vague, it all depends on the way I deliver my sentence.
"I know right!" She looked at me with a strong agreeable look and added, "Both me and Ryuhan tried to convince her but she didn't faze from her decision."
"What about Vivian? How did he take this entire ordeal?" I asked as eventually I would have to face him too, so better to get some information about him too.
"Oh… he was actually a bit sad, but never let us know about it. And as time passed, maybe his affection faded away." She chuckled.
"So she just ended a good and healthy relationship out of the blue?" I asked, as it seems like Naoto has some actual problems.
"Yeah…" She nodded hesitantly. The chuckle vanished, and a hint of sorrowful look expressed on her face.
"I don't know what's wrong with her… " she said in a low voice. Even though she wasn't sad about it, it was more like she felt bad for Naoto.
She added, "...she has started being so carefree about everything as if nothing piques her interest anymore."
"She is losing interest… no, she is actually starting to lose herself." She looked at me and said with a vague smile.
"Shouldn't you people like… you know…" Not knowing an appropriate thing to say, I tried to think of something, but she completed my sentence, "What? Help her?"
"Yes." I nodded and with an obvious look, she asked, "You think we didn't try that?"
"Okay… my bad." Realising that I said something really stupid, I was embarrassed.
I changed the topic quickly, "Naoto Senpai is quite a closed person… like she doesn't allow others in her life…"
Yuna turned towards with a silly look and chuckled as she shook her head from left to right in denial, "Oh… no no… she just appears cold… she is actually a cinnamon roll if you get to know her."
"Eh?" A cinnamon roll she said? I can't imagine that person being cute, but then again, I don't know her, so I can't say much. It's just that her vibes definitely don't resemble a cinnamon roll.
"Well… you know she wasn't always like this." She stared off into the distance.
"Yeah… I remember Ryuhan Senpai mentioning that." I said, and her hazel eyes shifted towards me and didn't say anything. I continued, "So… she isn't as cold as she looks?"
