Chapter 72 - Clover

It was evening and Lina was right now in her car, driving to the restaurant where they were supposed to meet.

Being the host for tonight, she wanted to be there in advance and check out how the place was decorated.

Before Stacy and Wayne left for Luo Residence, Stacy had helped Lina get dressed and styled her hair.

Clover, the restaurant where Butler Ping had booked a private room for Lina and her colleagues was a twenty minutes drive from Yang Manor.

After traversing through the heavy weekend traffic, Lina reached the restaurant. The place was beautiful with sparkling lights adorning the entire building.

'No wonder it's a first date magnet. It has such a romantic vibe to it.' She got out of the car and handed her car keys to the valet.

As she entered the restaurant, smooth jazz could be heard from the tables for two arranged there.

She did not bother looking around and just went to the reception and smiled at the lady standing behind the desk.

"Hey, I have a reservation for Lina Yang, can you please tell me where the room is?" She politely inquired and the lady nodded and checked on the computer.

"Yes, Madam. You are in room 201. Take the elevator to the second floor and it's on the last door on the left." She directed and watched as Lina moved to the elevator.

'She looks like some rich brat but surprisingly she has great manners.' The receptionist quickly called the servers and informed them to go and check if Lina would need something.

She also told them to take good care of her because the reservation for the room was made by someone from an influential family.

When Lina reached the second floor, she saw two men standing outside the private room she had booked.

Looking at their clothes she knew that they were employees of Clover.

'This place has great service. They are already here.' Lina was impressed by how fast the employees were.

"Good evening, Miss Yang. We are here to ask if you feel that there are any changes that need to be made." The older man spoke to her as he opened the door to show her how the place looked from the inside.

'Wow… !' Was all she could say when she saw the room.

The room was huge and could easily accommodate 30 or so people.

There was a dinner table, a lounge, a bar, a restroom, and even a karaoke system set up.

'Butler Ping sure knows how to have fun!' She was excited to see the karaoke machine.

The dinner table was toward the huge floor to ceiling window and displayed a beautiful view of the back garden lit with fairy lights.

'Will the seats be sufficient?' She counted the number of seats and they were the exact number.

She then remembered that Butler Ping had asked for the exact number of people who would attend and gently hit her forehead for forgetting about it and counting like a fool.

"Thank you, the place looks great. My guests will be arriving shortly, kindly direct them to my room as soon as they are here." She requested and the two men happily nodded and left the room.

She had asked Obsidia's people to come half an hour earlier than Mr. Hitoshi and his team so that she can tell them about the new group that would be working with them.

She still had 10 minutes before Leon and everyone else arrived so she plopped onto the couch in the lounge and took pictures of the room and sent it to her cousins.

*This place is great! Let's come here some other time!*

----

After Stacy and Wayne left Lina and went back to Luo residence, they were expecting Wade to be resting in his room but were pleasantly surprised to find two extra people sitting in the hall with Wade.

"Uncle Pat?" Wayne called out and got their attention.

He then looked at the other man sitting beside Patrick and smiled widely as he moved forward to meet them.

Stacy first ran to Wade and hugged him as she waited for Wayne to be done with his greetings.

"Stacy, you've grown up! When was the last time I had seen you?" Patrick rubbed her head and asked.

"Three years ago. When you came by our place on your vacation." Stacy replied and everyone nodded.

"Where's Lina?" Wade asked and Stacy looked at him incredulously.

"You don't know? She has gone for her welcome dinner with her colleagues. I thought she told you about it?" Wayne spoke and Wade opened his mouth like an 'O'.

"That was today? I forgot about it." Wade shook his head and sat back on the couch.

"Good thing you aren't invited or Lina wouldn't get a chance to flirt with her crush." Stacy slapped Wade's shoulders and laughed but stopped when she did not hear anyone else laughing with her.

"Did you not know that?" Stacy sheepishly looked at Wade and saw him shake his head.

'Fuck! Sorry, Nana.' She silently apologized and looked at all the frowning faces surrounding her.

"Who is this weirdo?"

"Where are they now?"

"When did she leave?"

"Who else is attending?"

The four men bombarded her with questions from all sides overwhelming poor Stacy.

"She's attending with her colleagues," Wayne said as he tried to recall the name of the restaurant but with no avail.

"I remember she invited many directors from the company" Wade pitched in.

"Now we only need to know where they are," Patrick said and they all looked at Stacy once again.

"I am not going to sell her out!" Stacy cried out and put her hands on her lips

"Are you sure about that?" The only man who was silent from that time finally spoke up.

"She's at a place called Clover. That's all I know!" Stacy sold her out in just a second.

'Sorry, Nana. You know that he's the only person here who scares the crap out of me!' She looked at the man who smiled at her and smiled back but her's was more of a scared smile when compared to his genuine smile.

"Please don't do anything that would embarrass her!" She pleaded and the three men who had jumped out of their seats to find Lina paused.

"She's right. Do you want Lina to hate you?" The only man sitting spoke and the rest fell back to their seats as they shook their heads.

"Good boys!" The man spoke and the other three glared at him.

'We aren't dogs!' They inwardly cursed him but when he stared at them, they quickly turned away.

"But there is something we can do by which we can know what Lina is doing and not embarrass her as well." He spoke and the other three guys' ears perked up.

'Such cute puppies!' The man chuckled and called them closer so that he could tell them his plan.

Stacy too, not wanting to be left out, quickly leaned in and gasped when she heard their plan.

'Oh, my poor Nana.' She looked at the devious smiles around her and felt bad for her sister.

----

Inside the private room, Lina sat playing DTD when someone pushed the door open.

She quickly put the phone aside and got up to welcome them.

"Hey!" She waved at the person and saw him look around.

"What do you think of the place?" She questioned him and waited for his reply.
