Chapter 88 - Madam Of The Ming Family

Before lunch, Old man Oswald had already contacted the people from La Lumière and booked their Opal Hall for the auction, two weeks from now on that Saturday.

He was extremely happy when the manager of La Lumière proposed to handle all the preparations of the hall, free of cost because they wanted Obsidia to choose their hotel for any future events.

Obsidia just had to pay for the Opal Hall and everything else would be taken care of by the hotel itself. So without delay, Oswald Wren reserved the Opal Hall for LY's auction.

As soon as he received the confirmation from the hotel, he informed Wade and Ivan about the completion of his work.

Ivan and his group worked fast and sent out the invites to the top 20 shoppers that had supported Obsidia from when it was established.

Now they just had to wait until these socialites and madams spread the news about Obsidia's first-ever auction.

When the time is right, with the news going viral on the internet then the PR team will arrange an official press conference to announce the same.

When it was time for lunch, Lina was just about to call Wade to let him know that she would be coming to his floor but instead, she saw Derek knocking on her door.

"Young Miss, Young Master had to rush because his presence was needed someplace else. He will not be able to come back for lunch." He notified her and showed her the two lunch boxes in his hand.

Lina just thanked him and sent him away before carrying them over to Leon's table.

Apparently, Derek had bumped into Wade in the parking lot when he had just got out of the car.

Wade seemed to be in a hurry and after telling Derek that he wouldn't be back for lunch, he hopped in his car and hastily drove away.

So Lina decided to share her extra lunch with Leon and Julia.

"Yum! Lasagne!!" Leon happily ate Wade's share of the lunch.

If only Wade knew that he had just said no to his favorite lasagne, then he would be crying a river.

But right now Wade was watching someone else who looked like he was about to cry.

---

When Wade reached Ming Enterprise, he was escorted by Mathew Kim whose face looked like someone had punched him in the balls.

"What's your problem?" Wade asked him on their ride up to the top floor.

"Emperor has been in a bad mood and it feels like there's a blizzard in the office." Mathew shivered just by thinking of how scary his boss was today.

"I thought so." Wade chuckled and walked out of the elevator.

'I don't think so!' Mathew did not follow him inside but just looked on as Wade entered the Emperor's office.

When Wade entered the room, he understood what Asst Kim was talking about.

The place looked gloomy and depressing with all the lights dimmed and a sole man sitting behind a computer, typing away furiously.

'I pity those poor keys!' He lamented for Reuben's keyboard and took a step forward.

The man looked up and glared at Wade when he felt someone else's presence.

"Why are you here?" Reuben asked him straight away and Wade held his chest like he was hurt and sat down opposite him.

"I came because I heard about what happened." Wade put away his jokes and answered seriously when he saw Reuben's pissed off face.

When the meeting had ended and Wade was discussing the final financial matters with Oswald after the hotel was booked, Asst Kirk had rushed to him and handed his phone over.

On the screen was a big flashing headline that caused Wade to almost have a heart attack.

*Emperor Ming has found his Empress?*

Followed by secret shots of Reuben and Helen walking out of the restaurant to her car and even a shot of Helen leaning in to kiss him.

Whoever had clicked the pictures did not show how he pushed her away and stormed out.

It just used a false perspective to display that Helen had leaned in for a kiss and Reuben did not object to it.

"Do you know who's behind this?" Wade asked and Reuben just snorted.

"What's the use of asking that?" Reuben and Wade turned around when they heard someone else speak from behind them.

A masked Wayne walked in with his hands inside the pockets of his grey track pants.

He took off the mask on his face and sat beside Wade.

"What do you mean by what's the use?" Wade asked him in confusion.

Wayne just took his phone out and typed the words 'Emperor Ming' 'Empress'.

The search result came out as 0 results.

He showed this to Wade and then smiled happily at Reuben.

"You can thank me anytime." Wayne gloated and passed the phone to Reuben.

"You deleted them?" Reuben was happy with this news and finally, he took a sigh of relief.

"I would have done it sooner if you would just give me a call." Wayne rolled his eyes and Wade nodded.

"I just got up from my sleep and the first thing I see on my newsfeed is you getting an Empress?" Wayne jested and saw Reuben scowling at him.

"Then it turned out that it's just Helen and those shots were all fake! Just camera angles!" He fussed.

"So I just deleted them on my ride to your office." He beamed and Reuben felt like an idiot.

'Here I was torturing my hackers to delete all the posts and this guy just did it in a few minutes.' Reuben facepalmed.

Reuben had already gotten the publishing house that leaked those pictures to take them down officially but by then many people had already taken a screenshot of the pictures.

They were in a heated discussion on whether the famed architect would soon become the Madam of the Ming family.

'What Madam? Total crap!' Reuben cursed and rolled his eyes when he thought of the comments that said they looked like the ideal power couple.

The young master from a rich noble family who fell in love with the commoner who proved her worth through her talent.

Reuben scoffed while he read those stupid comments earlier.

"Finally everything is off the internet!" Wade sighed.

The three friends went and sat comfortably on the big black leather couch in his office.

*Prrr…*

"Dude! Not cool! Use the restroom if you need to!" Wayne chided his brother when he plopped on the couch and it made a loud farting now.

"It was this damned couch!! Reuben when are you going to remove this farting couch from your office!" Wade glared at Reuben who was holding his hand over his mouth to stop his laughter.

"Don't blame the couch for your stomach problems!" Wayne mocked him and Wade folded his hands and turned his face away from them.

This made Reuben lose the self-control that he was trying too hard to retain and he laughed out loud.

Seeing his laugh Wade and Wayne too smiled.

'Mission successful.' They thought in their minds.

Wade sat in the spot that made that noise just so that they might cheer Reuben up.

"Enough! It wasn't that funny!" Wade yelled when they just kept laughing at him.

He huffed angrily when they would not stop laughing at him.

"See if I give you my cookies!" He smirked at them and slowly pulled out the box from the bag that he had been hiding all along.

"Cookies? Why would I care-" Reuben started but when he saw the packaging of the box he halted.

"Cookies?" He asked again but this time with a twinkle in his eyes when he saw Wade nod.

'Were they made by that cupcake fairy?' He thought of those delicious cupcakes he had the last time.

Wayne was confused at first but his excitement rose when he thought of someone.

"Did?" That was all Wayne uttered and Wade already nodded.

'Nana made cookies but did not send them to me?' He pouted and was already devising a plan to snatch Wade's cookies.

Wade finally felt that something was wrong when he saw the two men staring at him like he was a juicy piece of meat in front of two starving wolves.

'Oops…!'

In the next moment, the two wolves attacked him viciously and snatched away the box from his grasp.

"Reuben! Wayne! I swear I won't get you anything that was baked by this person if you eat everything up!" He cried out and the vicious wolves stopped.

"Fine!" Reuben, who was holding the box away from Wade, put it on the table.

"Come here!" Wayne, who was shoving his brother's face away, pulled him up and dusted his suit for him.

"Let's go threeway." Reuben proposed and instantly the twins giggled like little schoolgirls.

"I did not know that you had this fetish." Wayne wiggled his brows while Wade just laughed.

'Huh? What are these fools talking about?' Reuben thought and then it struck him.

"Gross! Perverts!" He held his hands over his chest and cringed.

"I meant, we divide it into three parts! Get your heads out of the gutter!" He chastised them.

After having a good laugh, they finally divided the cookies into equal parts and silently ate them.

'I really need to find out who made these? These are so good!' Reuben decided to make Asst Kim work overtime to uncover this mysterious baker.

"Thank you, guys." He said after they were done eating.

"I know you came here to cheer me up and I'm glad that you are here." He sincerely felt that way.

'It really pisses me off how these paparazzi just make up stories with any woman that stands too close to me.' The only thing Reuben hated about his life was the lack of privacy in it.

"We are always here for you when you need us." Wade patted his shoulder and reassured him.

"And next time, call me when such things happen." Wayne the tech genius proudly said as he thumped his chest with his fist.

Reuben just nodded and smiled, thankful for having such great friends.

However, his peace was short-lived as Asst Kim knocked on the door.

"Boss, Miss Gu is here to meet you." Mathew said in a soft voice and waited for his Emperor's wrath.

'Not again!' Reuben cursed when he heard this.

'We barely got him back to a good mood and she's here to ruin it!' Wade rolled his eyes.

'A good show is about to start!' The only person who was happy there was Wayne who was hoping to see some drama.
