Chapter 271 - Wayne's Relationship

'What does she mean that Brother Wayne carried her over to the hospital?' Mandy Rong fixed her stern gaze at the woman who was at the center of everyone's attention.

The moment she had heard that it was the man from her dreams, Wayne Luo who had saved her best friend and ever carried her so lovingly, she could stop her teeth from gnashing against each other.

'Stop this!' She glowered at her absurd behavior.

She knew that the man who had saved her when she was in trouble had unfortunately turned out to be her cousin.

Since nothing could happen between them, she had forced herself to stop thinking about those beautiful bluish-green eyes that haunted her dreams.

'He is your brother!' She would yell at the forbidden thoughts that would enter her mind when she was left all alone in her room.

She had managed to suppress and subdue all feelings of affection she had in her heart, yet now, the sudden surge of jealousy that had taken over her heart proved that she had not succeeded in her efforts

Though, looking at the smiling face of her best friend and the happy cheering that she could hear, she had no other choice than to cheer with them.

"I am happy for you." She muttered as she looked into Jeanette's eyes with a slight smile.

This was the best that she could do when all she wanted to do was to punch someone hard in their guts.

'I wish Richy was here!' She cried out in her heart as only that person could make her feel better with his soothing words at this moment.

But this faithful servant of hers was back at the Yang Manor which made her want to go back home at the earliest.

'Let us finish this so that I can leave soon!' She determined and then looked at her best friend, signaling her to move on.

Nevertheless, her signals fell on blind eyes as Jeanette turned away and continued narrating how sweet Wayne was as he handled her with care.

This public announcement made by Jeanette was proof that the couple had decided to go public with their relationship and the media would go crazy with this news if it ever got leaked.

Valerie sneered when she observed that Jeanette had veered off-topic and was enjoying the moment in the limelight thanks to the revelation she had made.

This made the younger daughter of the Zheng family to excuse herself as she rose from her seat at the table and went in search of her sister.

She did not have to look for Talia a lot as the other daughter of the Zheng family was close enough to the table that was at the center of everyone's attention.

Moving in that direction she smiled as she stood next to her sister, appearing as though they were simple bystanders who were hearing about this matter for the first time today.

The topic of the conversation had begun with Jeanette's injury which led to the discovery of Lina's twisted attitude towards her cousin.

Then they were educated about how Lina would mistreat her sister and did not think twice before pushing Jeanette which caused her to sprain her ankle.

Now they were talking at great lengths about how Jeanette and Wayne made a fitting couple which had not been discussed during their meetings earlier.

Talia's eyes flashed when she heard the news of Wayne's relationship with Jeanette.

'That man loves his sister so how was he willing to date the woman who had quarreled with her?' She suspected that something was not right here.

Her speculations on what was truly going on were interrupted when she noticed that her younger sister had come to stand beside her.

"Jie, isn't she using this opportunity to gain more attention to herself?" Valerie whispered after getting close to Talia's ear.

The older sister nodded but she too was curious about this since she had witnessed how Wayne would avoid Jeanette on various occasions.

"Brother Wayne has offered to take me out on a date today after the tea party." Jeanette's coy whisper made the crowd go berserk when they heard this.

Once again Mandy felt a sour taste in her mouth but she had to choke down all those weird feelings as she had many eyes watching her.

The secret that Jeanette had disclosed to her was the half-truth.

In fact, it was Jeanette who had called Wayne non-stop until he had gotten fed up and had offered to drive her back home from the tea party.

Yet, the lift back home had been magically transformed into a date by Miss Liang who wished that everyone would know that she had claimed that man to be hers.

Since Wayne would come to pick her up this would mean that Mandy would have to go back alone in the car that they had arrived in.

However, this friend was least bothered about it as she was blissful about the time she would spend alone with her Brother Wayne.

"So Wayne was the one who rescued you when Lina had injured you?" Valerie jumped in to steer the conversation back on track.

Upon hearing these words, the women were reminded of the fact that Wayne and Lina were also cousins.

'What if he bullies Jeanette because of Lina?' This thought had popped up in many of their minds, causing their moods to sour once again.

They did not wish for anything bad to happen to this child who had lived all her life without experiencing the love and care of a mother.

Noticing their worried expressions, Jeanette smiled gratefully and decided that it was time for her to reveal the trump card in her deck.

"Brother Wayne yelled at Lina when she had misbehaved and he hasn't spoken to her until now because of her bad attitude towards me." She disclosed something that no one in this place had knowledge about.

Surely, in the next second, the negative impression about Wayne had disappeared and they had only high praises for his valiant actions.

'That man yelled at me and my mother for Lina's sake but now he yelled at Lina for Jeanie's sake?' Mandy wondered incredulously as she had witnessed just how protective the Luo twins were when it came to Lina.

However, discerning the confident expressions on her best friend's face she could only accept that such a bizarre thing had truly happened.
