Evening came and it was time for the employees to leave for their respective homes.
Lina held Stephen's book tight in her hands as she rode the elevator down to the ground floor.
Since Benji had yet to purchase a car of his own and had yet to get his driving license for this country, they had to wait for Derek, Lina's chauffeur to arrive.
Luckily, Derek knew what the timings for Lina to leave the office were and he was there within a few minutes after Benji and Lina had arrived outside the building.
He had been unable to drive his young miss around for the last few days due to the incident of malfunction in the brakes so when the car had been serviced, he decided that he could resume his earlier duties.
"When will they stop, Benji?" The young lady sighed while questioning her assistant who held the door open for her.
Benji turned around and glanced at the crowd of employees who had left the building with them.
He then turned away and entered the car as he took his seat in the backseat instead of the usual shotgun seat.
His huge body successfully blocked their gawking eyes and Derek did not wait long before driving away once everyone was inside the car.
"This will continue until people get used to the fact that you are a special identity in the company." He explained while patting her head gently.
The groan that Lina let out in frustration proved that she did not like the fact that people were beginning to treat her in a more distant manner than what they already were.
'Not enough that they know about my connection to the VP, did my educational qualifications need to be disclosed as well?' She scowled at the stupid woman who had caused this mess for her.
If Maxene Kang had not insisted on comparing their qualifications then people would not have heard everything about her education and her stellar records.
'They even dragged Ruby into this!' She pouted when she recalled his name being mentioned during the entire charade.
While she was now on her way back to Yang Manor, Lina finally remembered that she had a boyfriend who was waiting for her at his home.
"Holy Fuck!" She exclaimed while smacking her forehead real hard.
This abrupt and startling action that she had made caused the driver and her co-passenger to turn towards her in a slapdash manner.
Derek quickly diverted his attention to the traffic that he had been driving through to reach their destination.
"What the hell did you do that for?" Benji snarled at her as he rubbed her forehead which she had struck without remorse.
Lina was in no mood to bother about the stinging pain she was feeling as there was a more pressing matter to attend to at this moment.
"Can we turn the car around?" She inquired of the driver who glanced at her through the rearview mirror.
Before Derek could give his reply, Benji had glared at him indicating him to keep driving.
"What for? You haven't gone home for days and if you stay back at 'my place' any further then your uncle might skin me alive!" He growled at her while glaring down at her.
Benji had used 'my place' instead of Reuben's where she had been spending the nights as there was another person in their presence.
An untrusting man like him would not be willing to spill such vital information about Lina without thinking it through.
Hence he had spoken in code words which our smart Lina had grasped in a few seconds.
"But I haven't informed him yet!" She whispered in his ear to keep his peace of mind even though she did not have much problem with speaking in Derek's presence.
Ever since the car brakes incident, Lina had not returned to the Yang manor and had continued to stay back at Reuben's.
He had been sick and she and Benji had nursed him back to health together.
Well, it was mostly Benji who was doing the work while Lina was simply keeping her boyfriend company.
However, now that he had finally recovered and had taken today's leave to make sure that he was completely fine, Lina was about to leave him and go into her cultivation period.
How could she have forgotten to inform her boyfriend about this huge news about her near future?
This was why she had smacked herself as a form of punishment for not thinking of her boyfriend while making such decisions.
Benji had been observing her facial expressions and he had made out what her thoughts at this moment were.
'Such a klutz!' He shook his head at her unmindful behavior and then decided to help her out.
"How about this? You get back home and inform your family about your new decision and then I will take you to 'my place' before we head to the hotel." He explained his plan of action that she needed to follow.
Lina pondered over what he had said and felt that this was not a bad idea.
'I can meet Ruby and then head to the hotel! Yes!' She gave her assistant an eager nod.
Since she was unaware of the scheme which was working alongside the one which was made by Maxene, she was in a happy mood that she was going to create new designs and help Stephen out.
While she was planning out her designs in her mind, Derek halted the car once they reached their destination, Yang Manor.
Benji hurried to open the door for Lina before Derek could get out of the car which frustrated the chauffeur endlessly.
The glare that was aimed at Benji's back as Lina and he entered the Manor did nothing to make him feel even a faint bit of fear.
'Ah! Home at last!' Lina smiled as she set her foot inside the Main Hall of her house.
However, her smile faded when she saw the people who were sitting on the couches before her.
Benji kept his eyes open as he gazed at the women whom he was seeing for the first time ever.
'So these are the flies that are trying to take over Lina's position in the house?' He inferred as he had heard a lot about them from Lina's mom, Diane Yang before he had arrived inside this country.
Lucille glanced up when she heard footsteps coming her way and the excitement that they might belong to her lord, Patrick Yang faded away when she saw who it was.
Mandy Rong was sitting next to her mother and retelling the gossip about the party that she had attended with her friend when she saw these two newcomers entering the Hall.
This was the first time that they had seen this huge man following after Lina and this caused them to frown.
"How many times have I told you that this is not a hotel, Lina. You cannot keep bringing people here as you please!" Lucille reprimanded her as she placed the teacup back on the table.
Hearing the commotion, Butler and Mrs. Ping rushed out from the kitchen only to find that their young miss had returned home after so many days.
While these two were rejoicing that she had returned, the other two looked as though they had eaten the bitterest fruit which caused their present ugly expressions to appear on their faces.
'I want to meet Mrs. Ping but before that, I need to deal with this woman.' Lina selected her next path and then turned towards the woman who sat on the couch with her legs crossed over the other.
