Chapter 293 - This Needs To Be Done!

When Mandy had noticed Lina's arrival her eyes neither had the guilt nor did she have fear when facing Lina as she had long forgone those feelings she felt for this cousin of hers.

She had tried to be friendly with her but all of those sentiments and hopes were washed away on the night of the debutante ball.

On that night, after she had wiped her tears that she had shed on Jeanette's shoulder, she had vowed to take back everything that was rightfully hers by hook or by crook.

She was now on the path to cause the destruction of her cousin's image in the eyes of the public and she had no regrets about the steps that she had taken or the ones that she would take in the future.

Benji who was observing her expressions since he had followed Lina into the house had gotten a clear view of the flash of viciousness that had passed through her eyes.

'I had heard that the daughter was the fool while the mother was the true mastermind but why does the younger woman look just as cunning as the older?' He tried to think of why there was this discrepancy in the information that he had received.

"What is it? Cat got your tongue?" Lucille mocked when she saw that Lina had not yet answered her.

The last time that she had been yelled at by Patrick for the quarrel she had with Lina was long gone from her mind and now all she wished was to remove this thorn in her eyes.

'The house was so peaceful when she wasn't here.' She asserted with total and complete confidence in her thoughts.

"The last time it was that young lady and this time this… Stop treating our house like a cheap hotel where just about anyone could enter." She sneered while glaring at Benji who stood in silence without uttering a single word until now.

The young lady that Lucille was referring to was Stacy who had been introduced as Lina's friend instead of cousin when she had visited Yang Manor previously.

Lina had been silent as she had come here just to inform her uncle and leave once again but it looked like that was not going to happen anytime soon.

'Looks like the little talk we had the last time was not enough to put some sense in her mind.' She pitied the woman who was trying to poke the sleeping bear.

Now that she had been provoked so how could she not give a fitting reply?

Therefore, Lina glanced at Benji from over her shoulder who understood what she wished for.

She then turned around and strode ahead as she took her seat at the couch opposite the mother and daughter pair.

Lucille had a bad feeling when she recalled a certain conversation they had once about Mandy's true origins as they had been sitting in the same seats back then as well.

'So you do remember?' Lina snickered in her heart when she noticed the changes on the older woman's face.

Nevertheless, the neutral expression on her face remained the same as she crossed her arms across her chest.

Just like any good assistant would, Benji stood behind his boss while keeping his stern gaze fixed at the women before him.

"If you can enter this place then so can he. In fact, he has more right to stay here than you do." Lina scoffed without withholding her scornful words.

This sudden change in the way she behaved with them and also the ruthless words that she had just used made their expressions sour in the next instant.

However, Lina was not done yet and she had a lot more to say before she left this place.

"The fact that my uncle has let you stay here even after she…" She uttered with a smirk while pointing her chin at Mandy who sat by her mother's side, confused at what was taking place around her.

Lucille's expressions turned to those of panic and anxiety when she heard Lina's words and was fretting what she would say next.

'No, no! Mandy cannot know about this!' She gritted her teeth as she glared at the woman who was threatening to reveal the deep secret buried within her heart.

Though she knew that Lina did not know the whole truth, she had an inkling that Lina was sure that Mandy was not a Yang.

Even if this was the truth, she could never let her delicate and fragile hearted daughter learn of this truth.

'That is what I wished to see!' Lina sneered as a wicked smile appeared on her face.

She had just said those words to see the look of panic take over Lucille's entire being without having the intention of revealing the truth at this moment.

'What is the fun in revealing this grand news without a large audience to enjoy it?' She rolled her eyes and then stood up from her seat.

"Forget about it!" She chuckled after saying those words as the relief on Lucille's face was so evident that she could not stop herself.

Mandy by now was lost about what was going on between these two women as she could not grasp what they had been speaking about.

"Remember that this house still belongs to me more than it does to you." She pointed out before winking at Mrs. Ping who was cheering for her from the corner where she stood with her husband.

Benji was once again behind Lina as they walked upstairs towards her room but suddenly his boss stopped in her steps which made him halt as well.

Turning sideways, she made sure that her voice was audible enough as she spoke to the Ping couple who stood downstairs.

"Call Uncle Pat home and prepare the guest room on the second floor for Benji, my assistant." She instructed the couple who were happy to oblige.

Benji rolled his eyes at this blatant power move that she had made and then smiled and waved his hand at the Butler and his wife as his form of greeting.

Mandy had now had enough of this nonsense and she stood up from her seat after hearing Lina's haughty words.

"What gives him the right to stay upstairs while we live in the Outer Hall?" She roared in anger as this was beyond her tolerance limit.

Her shrill voice made the people who had heard it to frown as they stared at her as though she was someone who had no ounce of etiquettes and poise in her mannerisms.

'Ever ready to yell her lungs out, this one is!' Lina rolled her eyes while mocking the antics she faced every time they had a conversation which would always turn into a confrontation.

"Has Mrs. Rong failed to give this dear cousin of mine basic education as well?" She glanced at Lucille who remained seated as she tossed this deriding question over to her court.

'I have already decided to end this once and for all so there is no need to play nice with them any further.' She consoled her consciousness which was beginning to feel a little bit guilty for the way she was treating them.

But the thought of her uncles who had to face hard times and her cousins who had to move back to the Luo Residence due to their arrival, she pushed all those guilty thoughts out of her mind.

'This needs to be done!' She declared as she looked Mandy in the eyes to say her next piece.
