While the mother and daughter both had various schemes in their minds on how to discard this thorn in their paths, that thorn was right now inside the comfort of her room.
"What is it?" Lina inquired when she noticed the odd look on Benji's face since he had entered her bedroom.
The young man sat on the couch and was busy typing away at the laptop that he had brought along with him.
'Always clicking away!' She scowled at him when he failed to answer her question.
Not wanting to bother whatever it was that he was busy with, she placed a bottle of cold water at the table before him and headed towards her wardrobe.
The large suitcase placed at the corner of the room was soon filled with clothes that she might use during her closed-door cultivation period.
'Now to the most important things!' She announced as she turned towards her snack bar with a wicked smile on her face.
An entire other bag was filled to the brim with all sorts of unhealthy snacks that Lina loved to binge on.
Turning to the side, she noticed that he was not yet done and so she came to the decision of washing up while he concentrated on his work.
'A quick shower cause I do not know when I will get the chance to take another one.' She grimaced at the thought of her no distraction period which would begin tonight.
By the time that Benji had finished his work on the laptop, he noticed that there were sounds of water splashing around in the bathroom.
'This is my chance to do it!' He concluded and then stealthily shut the laptop.
Placing it aside, he was careful as he made no sound as he stepped outside the room while making sure that Lina was not aware of his departure.
Once the door was shut, he fished out his smartphone and grimaced when he saw the new and latest model.
'I still haven't made Lina and that man pay for the loss I incurred because of the broken phone.' He scoffed and then pressed the screen a couple of times.
A few seconds later, a blaring red dot was visible on the screen and Benji began moving in its direction.
___
The person who was indicated as the red dot was currently pacing around the room in a panic.
"Did he see me?"
"Why was he here?"
"I will get caught if he notices my presence here!"
"I better be sure as hell to not come into his line of sight while he is here at the Yang Manor."
The anxious ramblings went on and on as the man continued pacing and even increased his speed in his nervous state.
This man was none other than Richy who had just appeared in the Main Hall to give his moral support to his young miss when he heard the news of Lina's return.
However, upon his arrival, he caught sight of the man who was someone Richy knew all too well.
'The creep with the computer!' He had cried out and then hid his presence right in time before Benji could turn around.
It was Richy's job to keep a close watch on the people in this mansion so how could he not know the tech wiz who remained close to Lina ever since he had entered the country?
The man who stalked people using his hacking skills was a mortal enemy to people like him who liked to work in stealth with no one noticing their presence.
Hence he had run away the first chance he received and had come straight to his room to hide away until Lina and Benji left the Manor.
Unfortunately, his plans to stay hidden were already set to doom as that very same man was on his way here to the 'red dot' that he had been following.
The noises made by the doorknob being turned forcefully made Richy snap out of his thoughts as he gulped while watching the shadow that was seen from the gap at the bottom of the door.
"Open up! I know that you are inside!" A loud voice was heard coming through the door which made Richy grit his teeth.
'He found me!' Richy groaned inwardly and then looked around to think of some way to escape before the person could enter.
The window that he had jumped out from the last time was the only means of escape for him and hence he rushed towards it.
Just as he was about to climb the window and succeed in fleeing away, he was startled by the loud noise that had emanated from the door's direction.
*Bang*
*Crash*
Turning around to take a glimpse at what that commotion was, Richy forgot to escape when his eyes met with someone else's eyes.
The door that had been separating the two people had now fallen on the ground, unhinged from the wall to which it had been attached to.
Richy gritted his teeth as he wished to leave this place however his feet wouldn't move as his presence was already discovered.
The intruder who had broken the door to gain entrance in the room stepped inside with leisure as a smirk sat on his face.
"Well well well… If it isn't Merc, the snake." He scoffed as he stood before the man whose one foot was on the ground and the other foot was still on the window.
The mocking tone used made Richy to step down and stand face to face with the newcomer.
"Hello, Benjamin." He greeted and heard a snort from Benji who stood before him.
"Why are you here?" Benji growled at the man whose appearance here could only mean bad news to the people living in this house.
Richy rolled his eyes and rustled his hair while smirking back at the man who had done his research before coming over to his room in the farthest corner of the servant quarters.
Not a single servant had rushed over to Richy's room to check on him after the loud commotion and the only reason for this was the deserted place that Butler Ping had given to Richy as his lodging.
"I might even answer you… If you ask politely." He snickered once he finished his sentence and noticed the incensed look of the tall man who could easily smash his face if he wanted to.
'Like hell will I tell you anything about my plans for the people of this house.' He scowled and then curved his lips upward in an attempt to piss Benji off further.
____
On the other side of the city, the man awaiting the arrival of his girlfriend paced around the room when she had not come back even after her usual office timings.
Not being able to take this suspense any longer, the man called his sources in his girlfriend's office to figure out where she had disappeared instead of coming straight home.
As the phone rang, the pacing increased along with his anxiety.
'Pick up, you fool!' He growled inside and gritted his teeth as he felt his patience wearing thin with each passing second.
