Chapter 333 - Cultivate Feelings

The detailed and intensive report of the project was handed over to the Emperor who began glancing through it.

'Not bad…' He admitted the efforts put in the well thought out planning which was much appreciated.

A couple of minutes and Reuben looked up with a nod, accepting what they had planned to do.

"Shall we sign now?" He inquired, mild frustration evident in his voice which caused the other man to nod immediately.

'I cannot stall for any longer!' He gave up on even trying to make the Emperor wait any longer.

Mathew was swift in his actions as he handed them pens to begin the signing ceremony.

'Here, so that you don't waste more time looking for a pen.' The assistant was displeased enough to not hide the anger which appeared on his face.

Thankfully, this time Mr. Peter did not interrupt or hesitate as he signed the contract with excitement.

'Anyway, she was just the second in command and was not truly needed for the signing process.' He placated his mind and decided to inform this tardy attitude to CEO Zheng later on.

The next person to put their precious signature on the contract was Reuben Ming who did it in haste as he had other plans to attend to soon after this meeting.

'I have 20 minutes before Kitten gets here!' He rose from his seat as he had a lot to accomplish before she came by.

The two men shook their hands after which the representative held his copy of the contract and left the conference hall with a bounce in his step.

He had tossed out the woman from his thoughts and was excited to reach the Main Branch of Zheng Group to break this happy news to the employees there.

'We can finally climb higher once again!' He exclaimed as the doors of the elevator opened up for him.

As he rode downstairs, the smile on his face never left as he kept thinking of the progress and development that Zheng Group could make with this project.

'This can be a gateway for newer projects and new collaborations. A new leaf for Zheng Group.' His positive thoughts were radiating a positivity around him as he left the building.

The cab was right before him and he did not waste any time to hop into it, instructing the driver to take him to Zheng Groups.

"Boss will be satisfied with this!" He muttered while rubbing the briefcase which held their prized contract.

Back in Ming Enterprises,

Reuben strode to his office once he had completed attending all the meetings scheduled for this morning.

He soon began going through the files on his table as he waited for time to pass by.

'Kitten should be here by 1:00' He recalled the time that he had mentioned when he dropped her at Obsidia's headquarters.

The time that he had to spare was spent reading the files which needed his urgent attention.

Inside a car heading towards Ming Enterprise,

Lina and Benji made their way towards the building in which they were supposed to meet Reuben.

"Why should I tag along on your date?" Benji sneered as he gritted his teeth.

He was well aware of the reason why Reuben had invited his boss over to this place.

'He wants to have some romantic time alone with her so why the hell is she dragging me along!?' He glared at the woman who was either too clueless or too cruel.

Benji's mind was pointing towards the second option when he saw the evil smirk on her face.

"The bosses can date while the assistants cultivate feelings as well." Lina chuckled as she informed him why he was accompanying her for this lunch date.

'Don't all the assistants of the leads fall in love with each other in the novels?' She recollected as this was a common trope in the stories she loved to read.

The continuous interactions between the male and female leads would result in the repeated meetings between their assistants as well.

While the bosses spent time together, the employees would be forced to spend some time in each other's company.

This would cause them to develop feelings for each other which they would realize after a deep and meaningful conversation with their bosses about what love meant in their lives.

'A BL between Mathew and Benji!' She squealed while covering her mouth to stop the excitement coursing through her mind.

Benji seemed to have realized what she was thinking about and this warranted the need to flick her on her forehead, which he did without remorse.

"Ouch!" Lina pouted and rubbed the afflicted area as she glared at the man who had hit her.

"He has a pregnant wife, you crazy, psychotic Fujoshi!" He snarled at her for what she had been planning to do.

This loud declaration made both the drive and Lina to freeze.

*Screech*

The braking of the tires to a halt caused a loud screech to be heard which shook Lina's entire body.

Benji was quick to grab her and hold her in his arms as he stared at the cab driver they had hired to bring them over to the Ming Enterprise building.

The driver shuddered under the menacing eyes of the foreign man who was in the backseat, rubbing the back of the trembling woman.

"Ming Enterprises…" He whispered after finding his voice.

This made the pair of boss and employee turn to their right where the driver was now looking.

Benji glanced at the big building and then to the woman who was still in his arms.

"Are you alright?" He inquired with concern and anxiety heard in his voice.

Lina was taking deep calming breaths as she tried to stop her feet from trembling.

The sudden halt of the car had brought up the fear which was buried deep within her heart for the past few weeks.

Her fists were clenched over Benji's shirt, crumpling them in the process but he was least bothered about that.

Right now, he was worried whether Lina would have another episode due to this incident.

'I had warned him to not increase the speed but he did this instead!' He glowered once again at the driver who had caused this incident.

He had driven them over here at a restrained and limited speed but at the very end, he messed things up.

Even the driver was frightened when he saw the pretty little lady cowering as she stuck close to the man.

"Miss, are you alright?" He investigated as he feared that something was wrong with her.

Lina was taking small shallow breaths despite her attempt to take deeper ones.

Her assistant continued rubbing her back as he tried to calm her anxious heart.

This caring gesture coupled with the stationary car relaxed the fear that had taken over her body.

"I-I'm alright now." She whispered in a shaky voice as she separated herself from her assistant's warm body.

Benji was still worried, hence he did not take his eyes off of her face.

The pale cheeks indicated that she was anxious and frightened but she insisted that she was fine.

He was left with no other choice but to help her get off the cab after paying the driver who looked equally worried.

Lina held his arm to support her unsteady steps as the pair entered the office building.

'Eh? Isn't that…?' Her eyes narrowed when she saw a familiar figure walking ahead of her.
