On the topmost floor of the Ming Enterprises building,
Inside his office, the CEO was busy looking through the files as he tried to finish his work on time when he received a text on his phone.
Reuben stopped doing everything he was as he glanced at the clock mounted on the wall.
{12:45}
He frowned as there was still 15 minutes before his Kitten should arrive at the office.
However, his instincts were urging him to read the text and he did just that.
The smile that formed on his lips when he read the name of the sender was enough to make people around him assume that they are hallucinating.
'Good thing I did not ignore the text.' He sighed as he began reading the message his girlfriend had sent to him.
The strange request in the text made him tilt his head as he was confused and curious.
Just as he was trying to comprehend what this text was insinuating, he received another one.
This text, however, had cleared the fog of doubt in his mind by a small margin.
"Kitten is being mischievous." He chuckled while shaking his head.
Placing the phone aside, he went back to reading the file as though he had not received any text from Lina in the first place.

In the waiting lounge, Lina and Benji had now turned their sights towards the two women at the front desk.
Benji had been asked to wait and watch a show unfold before their eyes so he sat in silence beside her, following her orders.
The waiting lounge that they had taken their seat at was just a few steps away from where Talia and the receptionist stood.
'We can hear them and Miss Zheng is making things easier for us.' Lina snickered when she saw how Talia was raising her voice deliberately.
Anyone could see that she was doing so on purpose to let others hear their conversation.
"Can I go upstairs now?" Talia's inquiry was heard to those who were nearby.
The receptionist had checked out her story about the appointment and had discovered that she wasn't lying.
However, she had her duty to do which compelled her to ask for permission before she could allow this woman to enter their elevator.
"Please wait a moment, Miss. I shall ask for confirmation from my boss." She informed and reached for the telephone placed on the desk.
Talia's status as the heiress of the Zheng Group was being repeatedly disregarded which was causing the fury in her heart to rage.
Sadly, she could do nothing as she was here to achieve certain goals and one of them was to gain free access into this building.
Once she was able to come and go as she pleased then she would not have much trouble in making her beloved love her as well.
The confidence that she could achieve what she had put to her mind was what was keeping her sane instead of lashing out at the receptionist.
While she waited for the woman to contact her superior, Talia did not forget to turn and toss her rival a gloating look.
'You gave up so don't cry when you see me going up to meet Brother Reuben while you can only sit at the sidelines.' She mocked Lina for her weak will.
Talia's smirk faltered when she saw that Lina was waving and smiling at her as one would do to an old acquaintance.
'I do not wish to know such a disgusting woman!' The heiress cringed and shuddered as she turned back to the front desk.
The receptionist had just hung up when she looked up and met the gaze of renowned jewelry designer and heiress, Talia Zheng.
"Boss will be here soon." She explained in a stunned tone.
Satisfaction and pride took over Talia's face which made her puff out her chest as she nodded at the employee.
'Brother Reuben must have asked that idiot assistant to lead me to his office.' She surmised and was immensely pleased with this result.
Now all she had to do was wait for Assistant Kim to come downstairs and escort her to his boss which proved that she had won this round.
'No matter what that Lina does, I still have an advantage thanks to daddy's company.' She sneered at the woman who had thought that she could win this fight against her.
As she was lost in her gloating thoughts, she failed to glance at the astonished face of the receptionist who was trying to make sense of what had just happened.
'Assistant Kim… Assistant Kim… He…' She could say nothing further as her brain was frozen with the information she had heard over the phone.
Talia played with her phone as she stood right in the same place, waiting for the lousy assistant to come and take her upstairs.
'Even if I am late, Brother Reuben did not mind it.' She smiled and checked her appearance in the mirror.
On the other side, Lina watched as this woman pulled out a lipstick from her handbag to reapply it even when the pigment on her lips hadn't faded.
This reminded her to reapply her lip gloss as well.
"Why even bother when he just eats it all off your lips." Benji scoffed when he saw her actions.
This off-handed remark reminded Lina of the kiss in the car before Reuben dropped them at Obsidia.
"Shut it, Benji!" She punched his arm as a warm blush appeared on her face.
Within a few seconds, she swiped the gloss over her lips and smacked them together to even out the coat of gloss over them.
Her eyes brightened when she saw the elevator at the far end being opened and two men walking out of them.
Men that she was quite familiar with, one of whom was responsible for the lip gloss to vanish from her lips.
"They are here!" She squealed but made sure to keep her voice down.
Benji held the hand which was slapping his arm as she tried to get his attention.
'For such small hands, she sure puts some power in her strikes.' He discerned and was glad that he had stopped her from causing further damage to his tender skin.
Turning in the direction that she was gazing with excitement overflowing from her eyes, he finally noticed the men who were striding in their direction.
'Let us see what show she was talking about.' He rolled his eyes but soon focused them on the people before them.
Talia felt a breeze pass her by and felt a faint tingling sensation in her chest when she was busy appreciating the artistry of the makeup artist who had prepared her for this meeting.
Keeping her eyes on the screen which showed her face through the front camera, she tilted the phone a little which resulted in a different face at a distance away appearing on the screen.
The excitement in her eyes was clear when she saw a familiar stoic face now visible on it.
Positioning the phone after finding the right angle, she watched the scene of the man she was desperate to meet walking out of the elevator which had just opened up.
'He is here!' She exclaimed and hurried to put the phone away and turn in his direction to greet him.
