'Oh my! What do we have here? A meeting with Brother Reuben?' Lina sneered as she raised her brow at this heiress who was glaring at her.
Talia on the other hand was now seen with an ugly expression on her face after hearing that even Lina wished to speak to her loved one.
Once again, these women were trying to comprehend the complexities of each other's brain while the lady at the front desk was watching them with a keen gaze.
Talia was wearing the latest designer dress which accentuated her curves and also the makeup and accessories she had on were flawless.
'That bag itself is worth thousands of dollars.' She speculated as she had seen the same bag in a fashion magazine.
She then turned her gaze towards the other woman whom she had never seen before in this building.
Lina's clothes were not too grand nor were they too shabby.
Her style could be called comfort chic as that was what she always opted for.
'This Miss looks badass!' She squealed in her heart but the same business smile was present over her lips.
The man who was standing close to her had a grave expression on his face as he supported her weight.
'Is she injured?' The lady wondered and noticed that Lina's cheeks were pale after the incident in the car.
Now the lady was stuck in a dilemma as she would have to send them both away as per the orders of the Big Boss.
'No woman who says that she is here to meet the Emperor should be given entrance into the building.' The instruction given by Assistant Kim was clear for every person who worked at the front desk.
The number of women who tried to scheme their way into the building in hopes of a chance at meeting the Emperor had caused a menace in earlier times.
This rule was implemented which brought down such incidents to the bare minimum and she was not going to be the one to mess things up.
Though she knew who Talia Zheng was, she was also given strict instructions to never let her inside.
The entire city was cognizant of this heiress's love for their boss but they also knew that she was always shunned and pushed aside by the same nan.
The only times that Talia was given the opportunity to meet their boss was when Boss's mother had brought her along.
At those times, Renee Ming would promise to take the responsibility of Talia on her head and then the two women would waltz inside.
Thankfully, it had been a long time since that had happened and it appeared as though today would not be any different.
Having come to the conclusion about what needs to be done, the lady smiled at them as she spoke up.
"I am sorry, Miss but you cannot be allowed if you do not have a prior appointment with the Boss." She declined them without any hesitation.
She then braced herself to hear their harsh words which she was right about.
"You do realize who you are talking to, right?" Talia scowled at the woman who had dared to stop her right here.
Lina on the other hand was quite impressed with the way the receptionist had handled things.
'And here I was thinking that she would let Talia go after she analyzed the clothes we wore today.' She applauded that this lady wasn't one of those shallow people.
Though her eyes had been locked with Talia's at that moment, she could feel this lady's gaze which made her assume that she would be denied entrance while Talia would be let inside.
However, contrary to her expectations, neither of them was allowed inside.
"Alright. I understand." Lina's calm voice stopped Talia's heated words from escaping her lips.
'Why is she so silent? Isn't she mad that she is not being let in?' Talia suspected that there was foul play in this matter.
The receptionist shot Lina a grateful look as she bowed her head slightly for making things easier for her.
Lina waved this action off with her hand as she looked around the lobby of the Ming Enterprises.
"Can we sit in the lounge for a while?" She requested the lady who was shocked to hear this.
Befuddled at this request, the receptionist nodded and soon watched Lina and the big man next to her walking away.
This left Talia and the woman dumbstruck at how easily she had given up.
'Most women will create a ruckus and threaten me with their family's influence but she…' Her thoughts were cut off by the heiress's words.
"I am here on behalf of Zheng Groups so the appointment has already been made. If you can check it in your system you will know that what I am saying is the truth." Talia commented as she tried to push down the angry scoffs to speak in a polite tone.
She decided that taking a milder approach would do her good in the long run as she was not a quitter like Lina who gave up after the first attempt.
This receptionist was not present when Mr. Peter Wang had arrived at the office for the same reason, hence she looked through the computer to check whether Talia's words were true.
"Ah! Here it is!" She exclaimed when she found the appointment that the stylish lady had spoken about.
Talia had a smug look on her face as she did not hide the mocking gaze she shot at the receptionist and then at the woman who had walked away from them.
She found that Lina and her assistant were discussing something in all seriousness as they sat next to each other on the couch in the waiting lounge.
'Keep waiting while I go and meet Brother Ming.' She sneered at her love rival and turned her eyes towards the woman who was staring at the list of appointments.
"Can I go upstairs now?" She inquired with a haughty smile as she raised her brows at the employee who was only doing her job.

When Lina and Benji had walked away, the assistant was seething with anger at the indifferent and lazy attitude of his boss.
"Why did you not put that woman in her place? Acting all high and mighty before you!" He chastised Lina for being too kind to her enemies.
Lina glanced up at the tall man and rolled her eyes as there was no way that she would let Talia, that entitled brat off that easily.
She then ignored his angry words and pulled her phone out and typed a few words on it.
Once she had drafted the first and sent it over, she felt the need to follow it up by sending another.
'She has the time to text but no time to teach people a much-needed lesson.' He sneered at her and decided to stop fussing over it when the person in question was least bothered.
'Done!' Lina smirked when she saw that the two texts were delivered and read right after they were sent.
"Come, Benji. We have a show to watch." She revealed as she patted his arm and led him to the couch, making him take the seat next to hers.
The seats she had chosen gave them the best view of the entire lobby, the stage of the drama she was excited to witness.
'Now all we have to do is wait for the show to begin.' She giggled which hid the devious glint in her eyes.
