Talia's father, Henri Zheng was imagining a future when his daughters would help him run his company which had been at its pinnacle a few generations ago.
Though it had been in a slump lately, the collaboration with the Ming Enterprises was making things look up for him and his company.
If everything went on without any unforeseen complications then their future was beginning to appear bright for them.
Henri's only regret was that he, as the head of the main branch of the Zheng family, did not have any sons.
This meant two things for their future.
Either his daughters would have to take over the family business after his death or the side branch's sons would have to step in to help them run the business.
Being extremely patriarchal and territorial about his possessions, Henri was reluctant to either let his daughters run the company or to hand it over to the side branch.
However, even if he were to change his mind and allow his girls to run the company, he was sure that they had zero interest in doing so.
'Talia has her own little company and that little girl wants to only appear in the eyes of the media.' Henri sighed as he entered his office room.
God had given him two lovely girls but none of them had any desire to help him out with his company's troubles.
Therefore, in his distress, the only loophole he could find for his problem was to find eligible husbands for his daughters.
The husbands could help his daughters by running the company while the business would remain in the girl's names.
This way, the power would remain in his main branch and he would not have to look at his hard work falling into the hands of those who did not deserve it.
Henri sighed when he realized that I'm hoping for Talia to help him out in the company's work was a far fetched dream at best.
'She is interested in this collaboration for that Ming boy.' He grumbled when he thought of the young man who hd ded to threaten him the last time they had met.
It was Taalia's fault for drugging his drink but to speak in that oppressive tone to an elder was not something that pleased Henri.
At that time, he had kept his grievances at this insult side as he needed to think of his company's future progress.
'I liked it better when Felix ran the place.' He sighed at the reminder of his friend who always lended him a helping hand before he even asked for it.
But the next generation wasn't as considerate about friendship ties when it came to business matters.
The only reason why Reuben had chosen his company for this collaboration was its excellent planning and execution whose entire credit would go to Peter Wang and his team.
So when Talia demanded to be put on that team, he was reluctant but the greed of getting more such projects if she cleared the misunderstandings between them had made him change his mind.
'I hope she does nothing to wreck this collaboration.' He prayed and slumped onto his chair.
The old man then began working after leaving the future of his company into the hands of Peter Wang and this collaboration.

In Director Wang's office, Talia was in a cheerful mood after the phone call.
She had no idea that her father had come over for a surprise inspection and was pleased with her proper work ethics.
She on the other hand was gleaming in happiness as tomorrow two important things would take place.
'Tomorrow, I get to meet Brother Reuben and I get to show him the true face of that wretched girlfriend of his!' She gritted her teeth when she recalled how they were clinging to each other.
The phone call she had received was from her little sister, Valerie Zheng.
She had called her elder sister to inform her that everything was in place and the next step of the plan could proceed upon her instructions.
In answer to which, Talia had given the green signal with a wide smile.
"I cannot wait for everyone to see what kind of person that Lina is!" Valerie had exclaimed as she grinned victoriously for having completed the tasks that were handed over to her.
"The more the merrier." Talia said as she had hung up.
Now, recalling their conversation was bringing up butterflies in her stomach as this meant that she was one step closer to being the bride of the Ming family.
With Lina out of the way, the Ming family could only choose her as the next matriarch after Madame Ming.
Talia once again fell into her daydream about what the future holds and forgot about revising the notes that she had created for tomorrow's meeting with her Prince Charming aka Reuben Ming.
Sadly, none of this information would reach Trigger as all of her wicked deeds were being carried out by her little sister.
Thus, even without her involvement, she was planning and even executing her schemes to throw Lina off the pedestal that Reuben and everyone around her had placed her on.
'Let's see who comes to defend you this time, Lina Yang!' She smirked and the eerie atmosphere rose higher in the room.
Peter did not dare to lift his head and controlled his shivering body as he tried to minimize his presence.
'Oh god, save the person who is at the receiving end of that scary aura!' He prayed for the wellbeing of Taliaa Zheng's next victim.

The victim however, was busy humming an off beat song as she scribbled on her Tablet.
Lina was tired but she did not wish to put away her work for later and decided to complete everything that was on her schedule for the day before Reuben could arrive.
'I will try it again today!' She cheered for herself as she decided to follow Manager Lang's suggestion and not give up so soon.
