(Thought I'd try to create a community so I'm gonna start properly interacting with you guys. For each of you, what is the thing you miss most that you can't have or do anymore due to Covid? Comment on this paragraph and I'll try to respond to as much of it as I can. Anyways, enjoy the short chapter!)
Passing through the opened gate, the hallway was quite ominous. Creaking sounds and low toned noises shook the hall and put all the players on edge.
Obi Wan walked up next to Tyler. "I don't have a good feeling about this. Everything is telling me to get out of here."
Tyler shrugged. "I feel the same way but we have come this far. We must finish what we started. Think of all the people we will save on Carnelion IV if we are successful."
Obi Wan sighed. "You are right. Let us steel our resolve and push on."
Tyler nodded. "Indeed. Nothing else to do at this point."
After a few minutes of walking that felt like hours, the hall opened up into a circular room. The floor was made of perfectly cut stone bricks that had some ornate textures engraved into them. Lining the outer edge of the room, countless pillars extended up at least 80 feet to the ceiling.
In the center of the room, a glowing green orb of energy floated in the air with crackling beams of energy connected to 4 acolytes surrounding it. A hunched over, hooded Orc was walking around them observing their work.
Without turning to the intruders, he scoffed. "It seems that my subordinates are utterly useless. If you want something done, you must do it yourself."
Tyler smirked. "Ah, you must be the famous warlock, Gul'dan. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Gul'dan immediately turned towards Tyler in response to his nonchalant attitude. "And who might you be, human?"
Tyler grinned. "I am Lord Draco, soon to be owner of this facility."
Gul'dan rolled his eyes. "Silly humans with their silly claims. What makes you think you can take it from me?"
Tyler unsheathed and ignited his twin purple sabers. "I'd love to see you try and stop me."
Gul'dan chuckled. "Let's see what you've got, then. Unfortunately, this quarrel is not worth my time so my acolytes will take out the trash. If you make it through this, I guess I'll see you on Azeroth." He waved his hand as he turned his back and walked through a door in the back of the room.
Tyler sighed. "Awww, I was hoping for a fun fight."
One of the acolytes with blue hair and a yellow headband heard this and his head snapped towards Tyler. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO ME YOU LITTLE SHIT? YOU KISS YOUR MOTHER WITH THAT MOUTH?"
Tyler nearly choked as this reminded him of someone. "What? You must have a death wish."
The acolyte smirked before turning to his companions. "Let's let the experiment deal with them. They will make for fantastic test subjects."
Suddenly, the sphere faded away. The beast began unraveling itself. Large wings stretched out and its legs dropped down. It floated in the air for a moment before dropping to the ground, shaking the room.
It slowly stood up and stretched its wings. Lifting its head, it set its gaze upon the group of players.
*Subject 15, Modified Doomguard, Boss*
*Level 70*
The demon looked as if it lacked intelligence. It simply raised its arm and opened its hand. Green energy waves began compressing into its hand and began taking shape. The energy formed into a battle axe. If it were to hit any of them, they would die in one hit.
The blue haired acolyte grinned. "Before you all die, allow me to inform you of who is responsible for your demise. I, Nyn Jah, Head Acolyte of the Lord Gul'dan, am your doom. KILL THEM ALL!"
Without giving them time to come up with a strategy, the doomguard rushed forward, raising its axe.
Tyler sighed before yelling. "Everyone fall into big boi counter formation!"
(I'm eating lasagna for breakfast poggers)
In addition to this, the four Jedi split up on the four sides of the doomguard. Their job would be to distract it whenever someone makes a mistake. They needed all the tanks they had for them to be able to defeat the doomguard.
Despite their strategy, everything immediately went to shit. One of the tanks did too much damage and pulled aggro for several seconds. He was going fine at first but then he tripped on a stone brick that was slightly higher than the rest of the floor and the doomguard's battle axe was flying towards him.
Sighing and rolling his eyes, Tyler used the force and strengthened his legs. Springboarding off the ground, he shot towards the monstrosity like a rocket. He flipped once through the air and planted both feet on the doomguard's back, making it stagger with a powerful kick.
This did just enough as the axe missed the tank by a few inches.
Tyler was furious. "WATCH YOUR FUCKIN DAMAGE!"
After that wakeup call, the tanks became more careful to not pull too much aggro. The fight began to progress nicely. For a few minutes, the doomguard's HP slowly went down while only using some simplistic attack patterns.
Suddenly, green arcs of electricity started to ripple off of the doomguard's arms. It began chanting in a demonic language. It sounded like it came straight out of hell. Green runes began forming on the ground. After a few seconds, it raised its battleaxe in both hands in front of its face.
Beowulf's expression looked like he had just shit himself. "FUCKING SCATTER!"
As he said this, the doomguard slammed the bottom of the shaft of the axe into the ground in the center of the runes. Green pulses of electricity exploded outwards with the bottom of the hammer as the epicenter.
All of the Limitless members tried to get away but some of them couldn't make it. Eleven players were vaporized instantly. As the pulse went farther, it became weaker and thus did less damage. This meant that players didn't die past a certain point.
The doomguard looked around and grinned at the results of its carnage. It had nearly demolished the entire group of its foes with that one move. It's HP had reached 5%. This was its last resort and would have probably wiped any party without an experienced raid leader.
Subject 15 was panting and using its axe to remain standing. A glimmer shone in Tyler's eyes. This was his chance to finish the fight. It would clearly take a hot minute for the demon to regain the ability to fight due after using such an insane ability.
Tyler was currently positioned at the demon's 8 o'clock. He took off like a bullet with his twin purple sabers trailing behind him. He was moving so fast that he was leaving a wall of purple light behind his legs.
Once he reached the demon, he slid on his knees, letting his sabers slice through its achilles tendons. With those gone, the demon fell to its knees.
Tyler rolled forward, getting back to his feet before stopping on a dime. He then leaped directly behind the demon and sliced up the demons back. It shrieked in pain but wasn't able to do anything about it.
Using it's gargantuan figure as a platform, he landed and used his two sabers to leave a deep gash in the demon's shoulders. This rendered its arms useless. Without being able to support itself, the demon fell face first onto the ground.
Tyler rode its back as it fell and stood tall over the demon's limp body. He flipped both sabers into a reverse grip before jumping up and raising both sabers over his head. Landing on the doomguard's neck, he slotted both of his sabers into the back of its head. It died instantly.
Green cracks began forming all over the demon. They kept getting brighter and brighter until the body crumbled to dust, leaving a pile of items and credits.
Tyler stood atop the mound grinning. The remaining guild members began cheering. They were the first guild to finish a raid. Soon, his favorite kind of thing happened.
*Congratulations to Limitless. They are the first guild in the entire galaxy to complete a raid.*
