Chapter 213 - Offer (9)

Luke was out of weapons, but perhaps if he sacrificed his fist… However, Rina passed to him her two shurikens. Those weapons were pretty good, but it was unlikely that they could finish the enemy off… Still, Luke grabbed them, and when he saw the enemy's silhouette, he used Weapon Augmentation yet again, both at the same time.

Luke had aimed at the monster's head, but the projectiles didn't fly toward it. Maybe he was dizzy due to the pain, or the skill had a will on its own… in any case, they hit several parts of the enemy's body, but the head escaped. Due to the effects of the shuriken, it seemed that the overlord had been handcuffed against the ground. He couldn't move a single inch, but little by little, the shuriken were trembling, and soon they would break. 

"You… what are you… " The overlord asked. "The effects of your skill are too different from the original."

"Shut your damn mouth… fucking asshole," Luke said.

Luke couldn't see a single decent weapon on sight. However, he then saw the spear of the overlord. Despite all the damage he had suffered, he still was holding it as if both of them were connected somehow. In the end, Luke will have to end things with his hands, literally. He was out of mana, and Shalia just used all that she had drained, so it couldn't be helped.

Luke and Rina approached the enemy, and then he mounted on him. Using the mana he was recovering, Luke used Heavy Strike and then punched the overlord's face. He did that again and again until his mana was almost empty. Still, he had decreased his endurance to the point where even his fists were dealing quite a lot of damage. Once that was done, Luke used Fury Punches. He did that and didn't even stop when blood began to splash on his face or when his fists began to break as well. 

The shurikens disappeared after fifteen seconds, and the overlord was able to move again. However, Luke's attacks started to make him go dizzy. To make sure that the effects of Heavy Strike wouldn't wear off, Luke used the skill whenever he had even a small amount of mana.

"You will pay for this…" The overlord said. "My allies won't make the same mistakes I did."

"If they are on your side, I can't expect much from their intelligence!" Luke said and then used Fury Hits. "Perhaps they will!"

Eventually, Luke began to notice that his fists weren't causing much damage since they were broken. Fortunately, Heavy Strike also worked with his elbows. He attacked with those again and again until the skull of the enemy began to crack. Despite that, he never stopped looking at him with his eyes full of hatred.

Despite the notifications and the fact that his body began to heal a lot faster and the discomfort in his chest decreased, Luke kept attacking the corpse of the overlord. Until he felt a trembling hand on his shoulder. He stopped and looked at Rina… she looked as pale as a ghost. It looked like she was… terrified of something, but then Luke realized that she was terrified of him and his rage.

Luke took a second to take a breath. He let his anger control him… he wasn't only angry because of the enemy, but because he practically died due to his foolishness. He also recalled the words of the overlord before the fight… was he talented or lucky? He didn't even raise the possibility of him being hard-working, but in the end, he was only lucky. He got lucky that he obtained such a useful skill at a high rank as well. That was so frustrating… Still, once again, Luke reminded himself that he didn't have time to think about that. They had the battle to win…

Sonic Spear (Rare)

It grants you the power to charge the weapon with stamina and deliver a powerful thrust.

Spears weren't the type of weapon that Luke liked to use, but he couldn't see any other options around. Fortunately, the weapon was pretty good, and it came with an awesome effect… it was pretty similar to his bow… that he had sacrificed.

When Luke turned around, he saw a sea of corpses. Although they didn't have any support, the skeletons managed to win against the Arachnid Warriors. Luke checked his status and saw that Necromancy reached level six, and the skeletons were now at level ninety, so maybe that wasn't surprising. Still, when they headed toward the other direction, he saw that hundreds of skeletons had become fifty or so. They were attacking the front line of the chimeras that had turned into their backline after the second group and the elves attacked them. Even though the chimeras had decreased a lot in numbers, Luke, Rina, and Shalia could see some elves nearby fighting them and some fallen on the ground… which made Rina bite her lips hard. Still, there was no sign of Richter's group.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble, and then a powerful shockwave crossed the entire area. Some of the monsters and elves fell because of it, and Luke had to protect his eyes from the dust. They approached the area before the dust could fall, and then they saw Richter in the middle of a crater trying to stand up. Amanda, Celia, and Rachel were on the ground as well, but they were unconscious.

"Rina, heal them," Luke said.

Luke began to look for the enemy that did that to them, but he didn't find anything in front of him. When he looked to the sky, though, he saw a small figure floating there....the figure slowly approached to see the new group that had arrived, and Luke found a woman floating…
