Charles' heart almost jumped out of his throat.
Jealousy, like a poisonous snake, wrapped around his heart. He straightened his back, and his eyes shrank dangerously. A strange wave of coldness spread around him.
The surrounding became eerily silent.
Frightened, Nancy lowered her head.
Bobby and Nadia also sensed that something was wrong. Nadia bit her fingers subconsciously.
Bobby frowned unhappily. He had no idea why his Daddy was angry, and that vexed him.
'Is Daddy angry because of me and Nadia?' thought Bobby.
Nadia blinked her big eyes in confusion. What was she supposed to do now?
She prayed in her heart for her Daddy so that he would calm down. After all, Nadia was a girl, and she was timider than Bobby.
Bobby narrowed his big eyes and clenched his fists. His lips pursed as his face turned cold and stiff. He looked like an irked lion ready to pounce. If Charles dared to attack, then he would retaliate without a second thought.
Edward's mouth twitched when he saw the tense atmosphere. He said in a low
father's life and death!" Jill shouted.
"Didn't you watch the news? Obviously, it's Angelina who betrayed you two. She has a firm grasp of your weakness. She knows that you have no money! If you dare to expose her, it will only cause a slight inconvenience for her. But for you, it will become be a matter of life and death. She knows that if the matter is exposed, you would have to return the money, but you have nothing. It could even be twisted as you being unwilling to return the money," Clark analyzed.
"Angelina is a shrewd woman. She has prepared a trap for us. She knows we can't do anything to her. That's why she dared to publish the news openly."
"Yes, that vicious woman knows that as long as we don't expose her, we can still keep the money. Once we expose her, we will have nothing!" Jill, who thought herself as smart and scheming, was just like a mischievous child in front of Angelina.
"What will Charles do to us?" Fannie trembled with fear. "Will he send us to the police station?"
Clark sighed, "It's hard to say."
