Edward stood up as he saw the children. Smiling at them, he said, "You’re back already?"

"Yes, Uncle Edward. Where have you been?" Bobby and Nadia asked in unison.

"I..." Edward stopped himself from answering. He didn’t know how to answer their question, so he decided to change the topic instead. "I’ve only been gone for a few days. Why are you suddenly calling me ‘Uncle Edward’?"

Bobby and Nadia looked back at Charles tentatively and then whispered, "Uncle Edward, if we call you ‘Dad’, Daddy will be upset. We decided to call you ‘Uncle Edward’ from now on."

Edward shrugged. "I don’t mind if you call me that. I like it! My clothes are a bit dirty so I have to go and take a shower. When I’m finished, let’s talk again, okay?" he suggested.

"Wait Uncle Edward, where have you been? You haven’t told us yet!" Bobby asked again.

"I…" Edward paused to think. "I’ve been catching bad guys these days," he said meagerly.

"Uncle Edward is a hero! You’re awesome! We want to be a hero and catch bad guys too! Can we go with you, Uncle Edward?

exclaimed, clapping their hands.

Nancy was rendered speechless. "Edward, are you agreeing to this?"

"Of course I am." Edward looked at Charles and asked, "Is that okay with you?"

"I’ll listen to you," Charles nodded.

It was the first time Nancy had heard Charles say those words since she met him. She was flabbergasted!

Did this mean that he approved of Edward?

It was the first time she was seeing this domineering man act humbly. As the saying goes, ‘A real man must be humble.' Charles must be turning into such a character.

He always acted differently to how Nancy expected.

She knew him to be a rational man with a clear head on his shoulders. Of course, she only thought this of him when he wasn’t being jealous.

When she thought about it, she realized that Charles was only terrible when he was jealous.

"I’m so happy, Bobby!" Nancy exclaimed with a smile.

"Me too! Uncle Edward’s right. Children need to learn about these things! Let’s go to the library with him tomorrow," Bobby explained, trying to sound like an adult.
