Sure enough, Doris shrank back into his arms.

"Thank you, Jay."

Jay almost couldn't believe that those words came out of Doris' lips.

"Doris, your beauty and gentleness right now are so captivating," said Jay blithely.

"Wasn't I always like this?" The truth was, Doris had always been straightforward. But right now they were seeing each other in a different light.

There were plenty of women with a pleasing persona, but ones with

called and said that grandpa's illness seemed to be getting worse. She asked when we would be free to visit."

Mother and grandfather?

Doris couldn't remember any of them.

"But I won't be able to recognize them. What should I say when we meet?" Doris asked awkwardly.

"I know. So I told mom that you're busy these days. I can go on my own at first when I have the time," said Jay.

Doris answered, nodding. "Okay."

Jay took out a paper towel, gracefully wiped his hands, and threw the tissue away.

He stood up and said, "I have something to deal with the group today. Doris, please stay at home and don't go out. You are pregnant. You should be responsible for yourself and our baby, you understand?"

"How about you?" Doris mumbled.

Was this man responsible?

If he was a responsible man, how could he have an affair with another woman?

"What did you say?" asked Jay as he didn't hear what she said clearly.
