3 The Party

Once the Nanny left,Henrietta and Jeremy were left alone,he took his clothes and went to change in the bathroom, .When he came back he found Henrietta sleeping peacefully at the couch.

He sent a message to the Nanny to keep an eye on Henrietta before he left the room.He straightened his tie,adjusted his tuxedo jacket and walked down stairs.

The Party eddied among the tents set up on the lawn,each lit by tiny white lights that glimmered like fireflies.There were potted plants almost every coner of the compound.He made his way to the main tent,stopping to talk to people on the way.

He joined his parents for a celebratory glass of juice,several people were already in the dancing floor.Jeremy hated these parties but since it was held to congratulate him,he had no choice but to participate fully.

Most guests carried congratulatory gifts which they used to tighten their business relationship with J.M Company.Betty,Jeremy's girlfriend was able to attend the party though late.She had just landed from overseas,her family had sent her there since her tender age.In terms of wealth they were almost at par with Mr.Thomsons.

She was also a genius in business and was already in high school.When Jeremy saw her he was so happy.These two were very good friends,they had so many things in common,from studies to hobbies.Jeremy welcomed her,after greeting the parents,he took Betty to a quiet place where they sat and tried to catchup with the latest news.She was also aware Jeremy was going to join the University soon.

Finally the party was over and the guests left one after the other.Henrietta also joined the parents and left the party with her parents.

Jeremy finally went overseas to study and also to be taught about all that was needed to manage the family business and all ancestral hidden secrets which were only passed down to the successor.The J.M Company has been there since time memorial,all the legends from the Company before taking up the task were selected at 4 years old.The child had to show signs of being a genius at the age of 4years,must be a male,his wife was to be chosen from any outstanding family and she must be a genius in business management.At the age of 12 years the boy was to undergo various training from family matters,martial arts,all businesse management within their scope and after passing each and every exam successfully if no obstacles encountered during the study, at 18years the successor was ready to take up the task when necessary.

Four good generations had passed without any family member from J.M Company producing an offspring who meet the specified criteria.When Jeremy at 2 years old showed tremendous progress,all attention was directed to him,due to so much pressure from Jeremie's Grandparents,Mr Thomson and the wife decided not to give birth to other children.They tried so much to raise Jeremy according to the stipulated guide lines ,as time went by they realized,raising Jeremy was so easy because at fours was already behaving as a grown up.
