4 Scholarship

After some years,Henrietta sat for her final primary exams,she was top five in her school ,she didn't manage to get a scholarship,it was only given to the top three best students.The school she chose to go, was not able to join because of the school fees,so she joined high school of her standard though the quality of education offered there was not one of the best.

Within a blink of an eye she was in her high school final year.This year was very important to Henrietta because she had to work extra hard, to qualify for a university scholarship.The scholarship was only given to top 100 students in the entire country.There were so many high schools in the country,which were ranked from National to county schools,most students who performed well in Primary final exams joined the national schools,county schools had mostly average to below average students,Henrietta was in a county school.Getting a scholarship was not a easy task,you had to have someone in the education sector to push for the scholarship.The rich always got the scholarships ,all the exam results were manipulated at the top.

Henrietta sat for the exam and after one month ,the results were out she scooped A's in all her subjects but again she didn't get a scholarship.She applied for aeronautical engineering course when she got the letter she was very excited .The parents visited all the relatives ,asking for assistance in paying the college fee but they didn't manage to raise even a quarter of what was required for the first semester.

"Mum I need to look for any job maybe I will be able to raise the school fees early enough before the university admission letter expires."Said Henrietta.

"It's a good idea but what job will you get during this period?"Rose asked. " Any job mum,right now I need to occupy myself with anything,tomorrow I will visit one of the house help agencies to try my lack".Henrietta said."I will give you my full support." Added Rose.

The following day after receiving her parents blessings,Henrietta went to one of the agencies,was told to leave her contacts and incase any client showed up,she was to be contacted.

After a week,Henrietta got a call from the house help agency,she went there .The interview was done and she waited for the people, where she was going to work to come for her.A butler and house keeper were sent from Thomson's house hold,they also subjected her to another interview and luckily they were satisfied,she was to begin her work immediately.She finally heaved a sigh of relief.

THOMSON's residence,her work was to set the table ,meal time and to be standby when all family members were eating.She was taught all the necessary table etiquette needed during her service.For the whole week,since no family member was around, Henrietta was at loose end,the other servants told her to enjoy for a while, because once the beast was around, things will not be smooth,he was so demanding and was an extremist in services offered to him.
