Chapter 15：So Sad Being Me.

"Athena! Athena!"

Aslan's voice was so slow and its sounded so distant too. She try to open her eyes but it was so heavy.

"It's okay As..We take over from here. You wait at the outside, okay?."

'That's daddy's voice.' she want to voice out but her throat feel so dry and it's hurt too.

"Doctor, please save my daughter."

She could feel the touches from the doctor and few others hand. After a few minutes of silent and she only hear a steel clinking and machine sound, she could hear the doctor start to scream.

"Mr. Lee! Mr. Lee! Your daughter! Your daughter's blood!"

"Oh my god, what is this? How come it turn to be like this?" her father voice a bit shaken and she could sense that her father was so worried and stress.

"Doctor! look!" another voice start to scream.

"Hurry! Don't let a single drop of her blood coming out from her body!"

That's the last line she heard before she went into a long slumber.

After a month she's coma, one day, she waking up like she just awake from a long and soundly sleep.

She sit up and turn to look at her mother and father who sleep bedside her hospital bed.

"Mommy." she call her mother and pat slowly to her shoulder.

"Daddy.." she also do the same to her father.

After some time, both of her parent waking up.

"Baby, are you feeling okay?" Hai Rin ask worriedly. She nod. Her father also sit at the edge of the bed and hug her like he was so grateful that she finally wake up from her long sleep.

"Did you feel any pain? Tell me? Did they do something to you?" Richard ask. He still hold a grudge to the kidnapper because they made her precious daughter to suffer. They also turn her into something that still hasn't been identify.

"They.." she start to trembling a bit when she remembering what they have done to her.

Seeing her daughter start to cry and sobbing, he walk out from the room and make a call to someone to make all the kidnapper go to the hanging rope. Not even let the single of them alive.

After she was calm down a bit, she told her parents about how she has been heard about the illegal experiment and most of the child they used met a failure and they never got the chance to live.

She also told her parents about how she was injected into a weird substance and how she feel the pain flow through her every veins.

After she was done explaining things to her parent, both of them hug her. Her mother crying and sobbing while her father keep silent. He keep the burden inside his heart.

After three month going through the recuperation period and she also need to go through a lot of examination from the expert and scientist, she finally can get out from the special hospital.

When she arriving home, her father gather all the Lee and uncle Ramon too, as their trusted friend and they all gathering at the meeting room.

"I'm calling you all here today is to informing about my daughter's condition." her father start.

"Athena…she is a bit special than all of us. Her blood is something that a lot of bad guys will admire and will do anything to get it from her." her father voice sound a bit heavy. While all Lees still keep listening to him.

"Her blood has turned to be a golden glittering color. It's can revive a dead to live again, it can cure a thousand kind of disease. However, she can't revive herself. She can't cure herself too. And the more blood out from her body, the shorten life span she will have. Thus, I'm begging all of you." her father already bow down and do a kowtow position making all other Lee member in shock.

"Please..help me to protect her even after when I die someday."

Athena already tear up. Together with her mother and sister. Lee family is very supportive and not easy to break. They swore to keep her safe and keep her identity hidden from the outside world.

Thus, this is what she is today..

Aslan turned silent after hearing her story. He staring at her like it's hard to believe.

Smiling, she know Aslan didn't buy with her story. She then went to kitchen before she went back to the table.

She stretch out her hand to him. Lift up his eyebrow he ask, "What?" he still give her his hand though.

Grab his finger, she cut it a little with a knives.

Aslan frowned a bit. "Hey.."

"Relax.."

She use the same knives to beak her finger a bit. Press her finger, her gold color blood start to flow out.

She touch Aslan with her finger to the place where he has been cut.

Once her blood touch her tear open skin, he feel like he just receive a lot of antiseptic. He jolt his body a bit. He could feel his flesh start to merged again.

Within a second, his finger back to normal without no scar and no pain at all.

She go to the kitchen counter and put back the knives to it place and she wash her finger before she put on the aid band.

"Now, do you believe me?"

"But, that things is impossible." he still in shock.

"Hmm? Then don't believe your eyes too. I've told you the reason. So are you happy now? Do you have any intention to kill me? Sell me? Or maybe run some experiment to me?" she said sarcastically.

"So, all those guys is.."

"They are blood hunter.. A group of mad scientist. I can't let them live. So that is why I kill them before they kill me. My blood is a treasure for them. The one who can have my blood can make a world upside down I guess. Just imagined, I can revive a dead person and I can even cure a thousand disease. So who wouldn't want that right?"

"Hmm..About our marriage.."

"Oh yeah, I still not sign it yet, the divorce paper.." she touch her cheek lightly.

"No, not that..I mean, I can protect you. Just speak your terms."

"Huh? What terms?" she ask

"You are my wife right? So it is my duty to protect you and I will protect you. As a return, I want us to stay together. So say your terms. I will not cross your terms. Such as maybe you want to have an open relationship with any man or .." he explained to her.

Dumbfounded a moment. She make a gesture like she was thinking very hard.

"Ermm.. I do have one terms. Only one."

"Say it."

"Just do your responsibility as a husband. Treat me as your lawful wife. For at least one or two years. After that, if you want a divorce, I will give your freedom. And..for your information. My skills is not that weak that I need your protection. But, I'm grateful if you willing to help me in the future."

Aslan scrunch his eyebrow a little. "You mean..as a real husband?"

Athena nod. "Yeah."

"But, you don't love me. And I don't…"

'Wait! I do love her. Years ago..'

"That's okay..we can learn, can we?"

'I've love you for so many years. How many more years that I have left to make you fall for me?'

Aslan nod agree. Stood up, Athena bow to him a little.

"Then, please take care of me from now on."

When she look up again, she suddenly remember a very important thing.

"Ah, I forgot to tell you something."

"What is it?"

"I can't give you any children."

"Huh?"

"The side effect of my condition is my life span is shorten whenever my blood drain out from my body or my system, it's like I have an expiry date, I can't give you any children because of the mutation make me barren. And the last one is, I can't drink alcohol more than one glass in a week or I will have a severe stomach pain and It can make me die too. So sad being me." she smile like she was joking.

Aslan was speechless.
