Chapter 64 - Losing Control

Baby swiftly uncovers the cloth, my face dropped in shock. I held my mouth as Baby almost faint.

He falls back on the ground biting his knuckle trying his hardest to control himself.

"How in the world did this happen? " he howls as his gaze moved from the dead bodies to Branson and Justin.

He was going crazy, losing control. I have never seen him this angry before.

His breath became heavy as he clenched on his chief guard's collar "How did this happen?" he growls.

"There was a trail of invaders on the pack land. They left to check it out, they wanted to confirm it before alerting you.

Something seemed off so I took other guards with me to look for them, unfortunately, we arrived too late" he pouts bowing his gaze, he dare not look at Baby's eyes.

"Who is responsible for guarding the border? and you let them go alone when you know the information wasn't valid" Baby howls once more making my heart fright.

He's in so much pain and I don't know what to do to ease his pain. "Forgive us Alpha, we are wrong" the chief guards and the other guards go on their knees to plead for mercy.

"Mercy" Baby spit. He grabs one of the guards and snaps his neck off. Everywhere become bloody.

He walks to the next guard who was trembling in fear, his mate who happens to be close by rushed over to his side and goes on her knees by her mate as she applaud Baby to spare his life.

"My Alpha please spare his life he is soon to be a father" she sobs.

Baby angrily looks down on both of them and holds both of them by the neck. I couldn't watch him continue to sink deep in his pain.

Justin and Branson tried to talk sense into him but failed. I walk up to him slowly and hug him from behind tightly.

I was hoping my touch will make him snap out of the dark hole he was in. He dropped the guard's mate to the ground as he use his other hand to spring me off him.

He left me flying in the air. Everyone was in shock, he quickly snap out of it and let go of the guard.

He run fast to catch me in the air before I land on the ground. he wasn't fast enough I gently closed my eyes as tears drop from it.

I felt a firm hand grabbing me, I opened my eyes in Leo's arms while Baby stand an inch away and cuss himself.

I hit my back hard to a few tree branches before Leo caught me.

I pout out blood. Baby rushes to my side. He was back to his sense, it was worth it.

He takes me from Leo and carries me in his arms. I pout out more blood as he stares at me with deep regret.

"Find who did this to my brothers and bring them to me alive else don't you dare show your faces here" he growls.

The guards show their gratitude.

"Thank you, my Lord" they whimpered as they take permission to leave.

"Don't worry Baby Justin and I will take care of this, take her to see the doctor" Branson hissed.

Baby nodded. He took me to see the doctor and thank God I wasn't badly injured, the doctor said I will recover in a day or two.

I woke up in the middle of the night in my bed and Baby is sitting on the leather sofa beside my bed...

He didn't sleep a wink by the look on his face. "Hey, how are you feeling?" he asked feeling remorseful.

"I'm fine now, so don't worry yourself. I'm so sorry for your brother's death" I grunt.

"I'm sorry Nancy. I- I can't believe I tried to hurt you" he blamed himself.

I crumble out of bed while he tried to stop me. I didn't listen. I went close to him and wrap my hands around his neck.

"Are you feeling better?" I hissed.

"I'm sorry I can't forgive myself I tried to hurt you" he groans.

"See I'm all better now" I mumble as I hug him tight. And for the first time, I saw a drop of tears in his eyes.

"Who could have dared to kill John and Simon?" I mutter still can't wrap my head around it.

"I need to find that out myself, it not I can't bury my brothers while their murderers still roam free" he howls fletching on my leather sofa leaving a hole in them.

"I will come with you" I proposed.

"No Nancy, you still need to recover and I'm making that mistake again. I'm not putting you in harm's way again" he growls.

"That's my decision to make, you are so angry right now I fear you might do something you will regret later" I hissed.

"The only thing I will regret is allowing you to come with me" he grumbles.

"You will stay here and that is it, I asked Leo to keep a watch on you. Nancy, you will dare not defile my orders" he said as his eyes glowed. He was demn serious but I don't care. I fold my hands around my chest while frowning my face. He walks over to me a plants a kiss on my forehead.

"Stay right here, I will be back soon" he whispered one last time before running off.

"Stay here my foot!" I spit as I get up from the bed to change my cloth. I grab a pair of black jeans and a black top and cover my golden hair with a black hat looking like a complete serial killer on a secret mission. I stepped out of the house.

"And where do you think you are going?" A familiar voice said in the dark. I turn to see the person but couldn't see his face.

I took further steps towards the direction the voice came from. 

He grabs me and hurries me on his shoulders while we match back to the house.

"Let go of me" I ordered.
