Kane tied her robe tightly and took her with him to the recording room of the hotel. They checked the camera and didn't find anyone entering through the door. So, he could protect her no matter what. He exhaled and told his bodyguard to check the room. They were on video call and he noticed that the curtain wasn't on the exact position where he fixed it to.
"Check the window if it's unlocked." Kane told the bodyguard and there's indeed one window that is unlocked although it was closed. "Now, go to the other building and check if we could check their camera recording."
"Yes, sir."
The manager came and Kane explained to the manager what happened. Harriet looked tired and worried at the same time. The manager was too kind to lend a presidential suite that has four rooms. Harriet didn't mind about swapping to another room. They cleared up quickly and Harriet gathered her laundry and put it on the laundry bag. The time that they had the presidential suite. They double check everything, even the locks. They didn't usually open the windows but still, Kane checked it with one of the bodyguards while the other one was negotiating to the nearby buildings.
"Go to sleep now." Kane told her and brought her to her room.
"Kane, stay with me."
"I know that it's scary, but I have to work on what happened."
"Please?" She pleaded with those adorable eyes.
"Alright, but you have to stay here first. I have to go to the other building to check on what we could get."
"You can do it tomorrow."
His phone started ringing and he quickly answered it.
"Sir, we didn't find anything." The bodyguard that he told to check on said. "We review the exact time and before that."
"Okay, got it." He hung up. "I have to call your father about this."
She nodded and he made a few more phone calls and kept glancing at Harriet who was watching him all this time.
"Yes, sir." He gave the phone to her. "Your father."
She took it as she pressed the phone to her ear.
"Dad?"
"Hey, baby girl. Are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Kane is with me."
"I'll send more guards to protect you. Make sure that Kane is always with you."
"Yeah, I'll be home tomorrow."
"Alright, I love you, princess." Hansen said, sounding too worried.
"I love you too, Daddy. Don't worry. I am fine and safe. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright, let me talk to Kane."
She gave the phone back to Kane. Kane listened to his every word.
"Don't leave her in the room, for now. Not even in your eyes."
"Yes, sir." He grumbled.
"Night."
The Marquess hung up and Kane looked at her and caressed her hair.
"Let me talk to them first."
She nodded and opened the door. He left the door opened and met them right in front of Harriet's room.
"For now, you take your nap. We will discuss this in the morning."
"Yes, sir."
He went back to Harriet's room and closed the door. He turned off the main lights leaving the lamps open. She moved to the other side to give him space and he lay down and relaxed. He pulled the duvet over her shoulder and she hugged the pillow as she closed her eyes. This isn't the first time. He used to camp with Hardin and Harriet in the garden with his siblings. He had slept by her side multiple times. But this time is different. She's alone with him.
He carefully turned to her and caressed her hair. She opened her eyes and moved closer to him.
"Hug me." She said acting like a child.
In his situation, he couldn't say no at all. He slipped over the duvet and moved closer to her with a pillow between them. She threw her arms to him and went to sleep. What he could only wish for is for it to last long. Because once they go, he has to go back to his main duty as the captain of the team. She needs to go on with her life and find the right man for her. And he only wished her the best.

Maverick was still in immense happiness. He was watching his wife sleep and even touched her flat tummy and kissed it without thinking. He couldn't even sleep well because he was worried that something bad might happen to her since they don't have bodyguards in this area. But his wife would nag him and he eventually fell asleep with her in his arms to protect her.
He woke up suddenly when she was moving. He sat up and looked down at her. She smiled at him and patted her cheek.
"I was trying to be careful not to wake you up. I'll cook breakfast. Stay here."
"But~~" Maverick reached her.
"Hey," She pushed him down. "Your mom and Butler Reinheart are here. I want to prepare breakfast for you and go back to sleep."
He exhaled and stared at her.
"You didn't even sleep, Maverick!" she scolded him. "I don't know what's in your mind, but you have to sleep. When we go back to Marduque, you will be tired from working and might get sick. Do you understand me?"
"Y-yes, love."
Stacey put her robe on and kissed his lips. He let her go as he lay down and fell asleep.
For a moment, Stacey felt bad that her husband couldn't get the sleep that he needed. She knew that he was anxious because there's a baby coming. He shouldn't worry because she will protect their baby, but after what happened to her, it must be hard for him to stay still. She thought of sneaking sleeping pills on his drink so he could sleep well, but it'll be bad for his health. So, she only bought vitamins that would help him sleep well.
She went to the kitchen and helped Butler Reinheart with the cooking. She put an apron on and checked on what else she could cook.
"I can cook, your grace." Butler Reinheart said.
"It is fine. I want to cook something for Maverick too. He didn't get enough sleep last night."
"Is there something wrong?" Princess Vanessa asked.
She nodded her head.
"I think he's anxious about my safety and our baby's." Stacey said. "Mom, I know what he has gone through and I am also worried about his health."
Stacey started washing the frozen crayfish since Maverick loves it. She planned to saute it with spicy sauce and more garlic just what he likes.
"I will speak to Maverick so you won't worry. For now," Vanessa said and puffed some air. "For now, focus on your pregnancy and don't worry about Maverick. I'll scold him."
Somehow, it made Stacey so happy. She nodded and started chopping garlic and chili together. She washed her hands thoroughly and started with cooking. She put a little white wine on it. She then helped with preparing the breakfast in the garden and just in time, Maverick came wearing a thin shirt and he hugged her and kissed her head.
"We will sleep before we leave. Okay?"
"Hmm," He nodded his head and kissed her lips.
"That's enough with kissy noises! Sit down and eat." Vanessa said.
The couple sat down and he smiled at the crayfish.
"You cooked this?" he asked. She nodded at him.
"And the rest, Butler Reinheart cooked it. I am so famished right now."
She put a lot of crayfish on one plate and put it next to his empty plate. He took out the gloves and started eating it and ate whatever she put on his plate. Their breakfast was splendid. And instead of helping with washing the dishes, his mother called him and took him to where their controls are located. Also one of the servers of their Artificial Intelligence.
"What is it mother?" He asked. She sat down on the swivel chair and typed on the wide controls. She currently shows the Marduque Castle.
"Your wife is worried about your health. Do you know why I sent out Butler Paul for you even when he's old?"
"To nag at me?" He asked back. It made her laugh.
"Yes, and that's because after you left Stacey that day, you'll be unstoppable. You see, Stacey will never go after another man. You gave her a lot of attention and whose wife would seek for another's man's affection when a husband gives his affection, care and attention? Stacey loves you so much and I know that protecting them from those assassins is such a burden." She sighed. "But have you even thought about what she feels toward you when you weren't resting well?"
"I'm sorry, mother." He bowed his head.
"My son, your wife is worried about you too. I think you should balance yourself from working, to giving your time to her and for your body. You can't protect her well if you have a weak body."
"Yes, mother. I will do that."
"Listen to your wife and Butler Paul. You make both of them stressed with your health. Also, that man is old, Mave."
"I will surely not make them worry again."
"And," She turned the swivel chair. "I can't find any other loyal people who would serve us. I have trust issues like you do."
"I understand your worry, mother.. Soon, I will find one."
